NFL Week 14 ATS Betting Picks

NFL Week 14 ATS Betting Picks

Written by on December 3, 2018

It was another crazy week in the NFL, with a number of surprise results making the headlines. Very few expected the Cowboys to beat the Saints or the Giants to beat the Bears, and it was a little shocking to see the Steelers blow a 16-point lead at home to lose to the Chargers. As the postseason draws ever closer, the battles for those valuable playoff spots get a little more stressful. Let’s look ahead to Week 14 betting action to see if we can come up with some good ATS picks. We will have SU and O/U picks coming today, too.

NFL Week 14 ATS Betting Picks

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans (-4 ½)

The Colts were on a tear heading into Week 13, putting themselves right in the middle of the AFC Wild Card race, but a disappointing 6-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars has now stalled that progress.

Things could potentially get worse for Luck and company this weekend, as they will be on the road to face a Houston Texans team that has now won 9 in a row. This is a bit of a dodgy bet given that the Texans are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games versus the Colts, but the way that they are playing right now suggests that Houston could flip that trend.

  • Indianapolis is 3-5-1 ATS in its last 9 games
  • Houston is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games
  • Houston is 3-7-2 ATS in its last 12 games when playing Indianapolis

New Orleans Saints (-8 ½) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Saints looked to be rolling comfortably towards the finish line of the regular season and the #1 spot in the NFC, but an unexpected loss to the Cowboys last Thursday has them trailing the Rams once again.

That defeat is not one that will sit well with Brees and company, especially since it was a game where the offense failed to launch. Despite their failings last week, the Saints are still an incredible 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games and I like them to take out their frustrations on the Bucs this weekend in what should be a lopsided win.

  • New Orleans is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 games
  • New Orleans is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games on the road
  • Tampa Bay is 3-6-1 ATS in its last 10 games
  • Tampa Bay is 6-3 ATS in its last 9 games when playing New Orleans

Denver Broncos (-6) at San Francisco 49ers

The Denver Broncos are hitting their stride at just the right time, winning 3 in a row to haul themselves back into the AFC playoff battle. They will need to hit the road this weekend, but they have what would appear to be a very manageable game against the flagging San Francisco 49ers.

The Niners are underdogs against the Broncos in NFL Week 14.

The Broncos have proven to be a very good bet of late when talking about the point spread, as they are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on the road, as well as being 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. Compare that to the 49ers being 1-5 ATS in their last 6 and you see why the Broncos are a good bet here.

Latest NFL Week 14 Betting Trends

  • Denver is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games
  • Denver is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games on the road
  • San Francisco is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games
  • San Francisco is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games at home

Atlanta Falcons at Green Bay Packers (-6)

These two teams started the season among the favorites to be in the playoffs, but as it stands at the moment, neither are likely going to be there. The Falcons have had a number of injuries on the defensive side of the football, but that does not explain why their offense has been shooting blanks in recent weeks.

The Packers have been similarly poor, but they have been playing like a team looking to get their coach fired. If that was indeed the case, then the Packers succeeded, with Mike McCarthy shown the door on Sunday night. I like the Packers to raise the temp this weekend in a win.
