NFL Week 16 ATS Betting Picks

Written by on December 18, 2018

It’s the penultimate week of the NFL season this weekend, and for many teams, playoff dreams could come to an end on Saturday or Sunday. Yes, we have a pair of Saturday games on the schedule again this week, so a lot to keep us NFL Betting enthusiasts entertained over the next few days. We have gone through the Week 16 schedule to come up with some picks that we hope will make you a little extra money right before Christmas. In this piece, we are going to focus on ATS picks, but we will also have SU and O/U picks coming your way.

NFL Week 16 ATS Betting Picks

Jacksonville Jaguars at Miami Dolphins (-4)

The Dolphins were unable to carry over the momentum from the “Miami Miracle” against the Patriots in Week 14 into last week’s game versus the Minnesota Vikings, as they were pounded 41-17 in that one. They are back home this weekend and are in as a favorite against a punchless Jaguars offense that is likely to undergo some serious changes in the offseason.

Jacksonville has covered the spread just once in their last 10 games and is 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on the road. On the flip side, Miami is a perfect 3-0 ATS as the home favorite this season.

Latest NFL Week 16 Betting Trends

  • Jacksonville is 1-7-2 ATS in its last 10 games
  • Jacksonville is 0-4-1 ATS in its last 5 games on the road
  • Miami is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games
  • Miami is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games at home

Chicago Bears (-4) at San Francisco 49ers

Last weekend proved to be a great one for the Chicago Bears, as they clinched the NFC North and booked their ticket into the playoffs. While they could still potentially move into the top 2, it is more likely that Chicago will stay in the #3 spot, which they can clinch with a win this weekend.

While you would certainly like the Bears to get the win here, it is worth noting that they are just 1-8 SU and ATS in their last 9 visits to San Francisco. They have not excelled as a road favorite this season, going 2-3 ATS in those games, yet I think they come away with the win and the cover here.

Latest NFL Week 16 Betting Trends

  • Chicago is 7-1 ATS in its last 8 games
  • Chicago is 1-8 ATS in its last 9 games when playing on the road against San Francisco
  • San Francisco is 7-15 ATS in its last 22 games at home

Kansas City Chiefs (-3) at Seattle Seahawks

I always like to throw in a game that really could go either way, and this one certainly fits the bill. The Chiefs are clinging desperately to the top seed in the AFC, but they have the LA Chargers breathing right down their necks. The Seahawks, meanwhile, are in the thick of the playoff race in the NFC, but really need one more win to feel secure about where they currently stand.

The Chiefs are favorites to win in NFL Week 16 against the Seahawks.

The Chiefs have gone 6-3 ATS in their last 9 visits to Seattle and are 5-1-1 ATS on the road this season, although just 2-1 ATS as a road favorite. The Seahawks have been money as the underdog, going 4-1-1 ATS and 1-0 ATS as a home dog. A close call here, but I am on KC.

Latest NFL Week 16 Betting Trends

  • Kansas City is 0-4-1 ATS in its last 5 games
  • Kansas City is 6-1-1 ATS in its last 8 games on the road
  • Seattle is 7-2-1 ATS in its last 10 games
  • Seattle is 1-7 ATS in its last 8 games when playing Kansas City

Denver Broncos (-2 ½) at Oakland Raiders

After making a mid-season push to get back into playoff contention, the Denver Broncos have once again fallen off the pace and out of the race at 6-8. They have now lost back to back games, with the offense suddenly going cold at the exact wrong time.

This may be a good opportunity for them to get right again, as Oakland seems to be a preferred destination spot for the Broncos, who have gone 5-2 ATS in their last 7 trips there. As the away favorite this season, Denver are 2-1 ATS, while the Raiders are 2-3 ATS as the home dog. I am on Denver to win and cover here.
