There were some big surprises in Week 1, not the least of which was the Cleveland Browns picking up a tie at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s not very often that we see a tie in the NFL, which makes you wonder if we are about to see a bit of a surprise season in 2018. While there are still a couple of games to come in the opening week, we need to start looking ahead to NFL Week 2. We will have separate articles where we make predictions ATS and O/U, but for now, let’s take a look at some SU picks for the coming week.
Every team has that one opponent that they always seem to struggle against. For the Kansas City Chiefs, that team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs have just 1 win in their last 7 meetings with Pittsburgh and will be facing a Steelers team still sure to be smarting after an opening week tie with the Cleveland Browns. It was a game that the Steelers looked to have well in hand before turnovers and untimely penalties gave the Browns a lifeline that they didn’t necessarily deserve. The Steelers head home in Week 2, and while the Chiefs looked good in their opener, I think they are in trouble here.

Washington Redskins over Indianapolis Colts
The Washington redskins made a big move in the offseason to get the QB that they wanted, and while there are still a lot of games to be played, the investment in Alex Smith is already paying dividends. Smith was on fire in the season opener against Arizona, going 21-30 for 255 yards and 2 TD’s. The return of Andrew Luck was a good one in terms of stats, but it still ended up being in a losing cause, with the Colts falling to the Bengals in their season opener. This could well be a bit of a shootout, but I think it will be the Redskins who come out on top in a close one.LA Chargers over Buffalo Bills
The Chargers didn’t play that poorly in their opening week loss to the Chiefs, but were just outgunned by a very good looking Kansas City Chiefs team. The Chargers have made a habit of getting off to a slow start, but I don’t see them losing 2 in a row to start this season. The Bills were absolutely hammered by the Ravens in their season opener and showed nothing to suggest that they might be able to turn thigs around in Week 2. If Philip Rivers plays as well as he did in the season opener, this could be another heavy loss for the Bills.Pittsburgh Steelers over Kansas City Chiefs
