NFL Week 4 Over/Under Betting Picks

Written by on September 24, 2018

As is always the case in the NFL, we saw a wide variety of different games in Week 3. We had the Titans and Jaguars involved in an epic defensive battle where just 15 points were scored. We also had the Saints and Falcons offenses go toe to toe in an OT thriller where there were multiple different lead changes throughout the game. Both of those outcomes were somewhat predictable, but the majority of the remaining games fell somewhere in the middle in terms of the point total. We are going to be looking at the O/U Odds for NFL Week 4 to see if we can pick some winners, so let’s get right to it.

NFL Week 4 Over/Under Betting Picks

Buffalo Bills vs Green Bay Packers (UNDER 44 ½)

The Bills finally got their first win of the season, and it came in rather unexpected fashion. No-one had them beating the Minnesota Vikings, especially after their showings in the opening two weeks, yet that is exactly what the Bills did. They have another tough one against the underperforming Packers this weekend, with the point total set at 44 ½.

In the last 4 meetings between these two teams, the highest combined point total we have seen has been 41, which is why I believe that this one might be a good UNDER bet. Let’s also not forget that Aaron Rodgers is still nursing a bit of a sore knee.

Latest NFL Week 4 Betting Trends

  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Buffalo’s last 6 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Buffalo’s last 5 games when playing Green Bay
  • The total has gone OVER in 8 of Green Bay’s last 9 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 9 of Green Bay’s last 13 games at home

Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts (UNDER 47 ½)

A big divisional match-up here and one that is important for both teams, as they are both off to a bit of a rocky start. Neither of these offenses has really been able to get going this season, which is perhaps not that surprising when you consider that both QB’s are returning from serious injury.

Only once in the last 5 meetings between these two teams has the total score eclipsed the 47 ½ point total for this weekend, which makes this one appear to be another good UNDER bet. There is always the chance that one of these QB’s could go off, but I am sticking with the trend here.

Latest NFL Week 4 Betting Trends

  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Houston’s last 5 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Houston’s last 5 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in 10 of Indianapolis’s last 11 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Indianapolis’s last 5 games when playing at home against Houston

Cincinnati Bengals vs Atlanta Falcons (OVER 48)

These are two teams that have been involved in high-scoring games through the opening 3 weeks of the season. All three of the Bengals games this season have gone over the point total, while the same has been true of the last two games for the Falcons. The Bengals are underdogs against the Falcons in NFL Week 4. These two teams don’t meet very often, but when they do, we tend to see a lot of points scored, with 2 of the last 3 meetings between the Bengals and Falcons eclipsing the 48-point total for this weekend. I think we are in for another high-scoring affair here, so let’s go OVER.

Latest NFL Week 4 Betting Trends

  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Cincinnati’s last 5 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Cincinnati’s last 6 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Atlanta’s last 10 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 15 of Atlanta’s last 21 games at home

Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos (OVER 55)

After watching Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes through the opening 3 weeks of the season, it’s fair to suggest that I am going to ride this kid until he hits the wall. He has been lights out, leading the KC offense on scoring drive after scoring drive, with the Chiefs starting the season at 3-0.

As long as he keeps slinging the ball the way he has been, the point total is going to stay high, but given that the Chiefs have gone OVER in all 3 games thus far, I think they can do it again in Week 4 versus the Denver Broncos.

  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Kansas City’s last 5 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Kansas City’s last 5 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Denver’s last 7 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Denver’s last 6 games when playing Kansas City
