The opening month of the NFL season comes to a close on Monday night, which means it’s time to start looking ahead to NFL Week 5. We have put together what we believe to be some solid SU, ATS, and O/U picks for the coming week, but now it’s time to pick the best of those and create some winning parlay tickets. We are going to have 3 tickets in all, each of which will have 4 picks on it, so let’s get right to the action.
NFL Week 5 Parlay Picks
NFL Week 5 SU Parlay
The New York Giants are struggling to get anything going this season, with rookie RB Saquon Barkley being one of the few positives in a team that is struggling. They have really had issues on the road going back to last season and have a tough one this week on the road to the Carolina Panthers. Home field advantage should see the Panthers through here.
The Cincinnati Bengals are coming off a huge road win in Atlanta, where they edged past the Falcons with a late TD drive. They have all the momentum heading into their home game against the Miami Dolphins, who were just pounded by the Patriots in Week 4. A win for the Bengals in this one.
There are often games that turn a season around for a team, and I think that is what the Tennessee Titans got in Week 5 with an OT win over the Eagles. It was the best that their offense has looked all season long, which is why I like them to keep things rolling with a win over the woeful Buffalo Bills.
NFL Week 5 ATS Parlay
Just when you think the New England Patriots are down and out, they deliver a performance that proves that they are probably not going anywhere. They completely manhandled the unbeaten Dolphins over the weekend and need to be considered a big favorite to do the same to the Colts as a 10 ½ point favorite at home.
There is no denying that the Cleveland Browns are better this season than they have been in a while, but through the opening 4 weeks of the season, they are still finding ways to lose. They could be in trouble again this weekend against a Baltimore Ravens team coming off a massive win in Pittsburgh. I like the Ravens to win and cover as a 2 ½ -point favorite.
The Packers have not been as dominant as we expected them to be in the early going of the season, but I am still a little surprised that they are in as just a 1-point favorite against the Detroit Lions this weekend. That’s a point spread I think the Packers cover quite handily.
NFL Week 5 O/U Parlay
The Atlanta Falcons and the Pittsburgh Steelers are both behind the 8-ball in the early going and both need a win. The problem for both teams is that their secondaries are being cruelly exposed, and with both these teams having high-powered offenses, we could be in for an epic shootout that takes the total OVER 56 points.
The New York Jets offense is sputtering under rookie QB Sam Darnold, which is really not that unexpected. The Jets will be in against a Denver Broncos team coming in on a short week after playing on Monday night. I think we get little offense here as the total goes UNDER 43 ½.
Let’s finish off with a pick that may come as a little bit of a surprise. You see the Bills and the Titans matched up on the schedule and you automatically assume that the under will hit, but the trend between these two has gone the other way, which is why I am on the OVER 39.
