NFL Week 8 SU Betting Picks

Written by on October 22, 2018

While we still have the Monday night game between the Falcons and the Giants to look forward to, we can still take a moment to look aheadf orNFL Week 8 betting action. The division races are really starting to heat up, with more than a few surprise leaders at the top right now. As we gear up for the second half, things can change, though, and it all begins this coming Thursday and Sunday. We are going to get the new week rolling with some SU picks for Week 8, but also be on the lookout for out ATS and O/U selections, which will be out today.

NFL Week 8 SU Betting Picks

Houston Texans over Miami Dolphins

There is a lot to be said for momentum in professional sports and it’s more than fair to suggest that the Houston Texans have it right now. After losing their first 3 games of the season, the Texans have bounced back nicely to reel off 4 straight to take over the lead in the AFC South. Next up is a Dolphins team that has stumbled after opening the season with 3 straight wins.

Over the course of their last 4 games, the Dolphins have gone just 1-3 and are beginning to look a little leaky on the defensive side of the football. Given the state of the South, the Texans can take a firm grip on the division with a win here, which I think they will get on Thursday night.

Carolina Panthers over Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens came into this season knowing that they needed to make the playoffs for the current team set-up to remain in place. While they are still in a decent position, they can now feel the Pittsburgh Steelers creeping up on them in the North. The Ravens missed a PAT that would have tied them up with the Saints on Sunday, with that game ending in a 1-point loss.

Meanwhile, the Panthers came from behind to take out the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7, getting themselves to 4-2 in the process and still within reach of the Saints in the South. This is one of the best match-ups of the week, but I am leaning towards the Panthers at home.

  • Carolina is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home

Kansas City Chiefs over Denver Broncos

Just when we thought that the Chiefs magical start to the season was over after a loss to the Patriots in Week 6, they bounce right back and deliver an absolute thumping to the Bengals in a 45-10 win. Patrick Mahomes now has 22 TD passes through the first 7 weeks of the season, the best start to a campaign by any QB in NFL history.

In NFL Week 8, the Broncos are in trouble against the Chiefs.

The Chiefs have also covered in all 7 games this season, so it’s tough to imagine that they would struggle to beat Denver at home. Yes, the Broncos has a 45-10 win of their own last week, but that came against the brutal Arizona Cardinals, so let’s not get too carried away.

Washington Redskins over New York Giants

The general consensus was that the Philadelphia Eagles would come out and easily defend their NFC East crown, but that has not been the case. It is the Redskins who have emerged as the new favorite, jumping out to a 4-2 start to the season.

They can help their cause in Week 8 with a win over their division rivals, the New York Giants, who will be coming into this one on a short week after playing the Falcons on Monday night. Outside of rookie RB Saquon Barkley, the Giants have been seriously underwhelming this season and look to be on to another beating here.
