NFL Week 9 SU Betting Picks

NFL Week 9 SU Betting Picks

Written by on October 29, 2018

This weekend will see us head into the second half of the season, with several teams needing to pick up the pace a little if they want to be playing football beyond Week 17 of the season. There are really only 2 or 3 teams who look like a lock to be in the postseason, so it really is all to play for in the coming weeks of the NFL season. For now, we are going to turn our attention to Week 9 Betting action, where we will get things rolling by making some SU picks. We will also have ATS and O/U picks for you guys, so be on the lookout for those articles later today.

NFL Week 9 SU Picks

Chicago Bears over Buffalo Bills

The Bears entered Week 8 in desperate need of a win after dropping back to back games, which they got with a comfortable win over the New York Jets. This week, Chicago has what looks to be another very winnable game.

The Bills have had a couple of surprise performances this season, but for the most part, they have looked like one of the worst teams in the league. It certainly doesn’t help that Buffalo will be coming into this one on a short week after playing New England on Monday night. All of that adds up to what should be another win for the Chicago Bears.

  • Chicago is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games
  • Chicago is 3-16 SU in its last 19 games on the road
  • Buffalo is 2-6 SU in its last 8 games
  • Buffalo is 7-3 SU in its last 10 games at home

Carolina Panthers over Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were one of the surprise teams in the early going, but it would now appear that they have a QB issue to contend with. Ryan Fitzpatrick was brilliant in the early going, covering admirably for the suspended Jameis Winston. He cooled off, though, and was replaced by Winston, who was yanked this past weekend in a loss to Cincinnati.

Word out of Tampa is that the Bucs may be willing to field offers for Winston, although it’s tough to say if there is any validity to those claims. Another difficult outing ahead for Tampa, as I see them falling to Carolina in this NFC South battle.

Miami Dolphins over New York Jets

I am not particularly sold on either of these teams, as both are off to a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde start to the season. The Jets woes are not that surprising given that they have chosen to roll the dice on a rookie QB under center.

The offense looked great in back to back wins a few weeks ago, but they have been brutal in the past two weeks, losing to Minnesota and Chicago while offering up very little on the offensive side of the football. Miami has now lost 4 of their last 5 games, but they are still sitting at .500. I like the Dolphins to get back above that mark with a win this coming weekend.

Washington Redskins over Atlanta Falcons

This is a bit of a coin flip game for me, as it’s one that really could go either way. The Redskins have all the momentum right now, winning 3 in a row and 4 of their last 5 games to take control of the NFC East. The Falcons defense is ravaged by injury, an issue that saw them fall to 1-4 in the early part of the season.

They have rebounded nicely, though, and have now won back to back games. The bookies have this in as a close one, but I think it will be the Redskins who use home field advantage as they edge ever closer to a playoff spot.
