2019 NFL Week 11 Parlay Betting Picks

New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The biggest upset of the season happened to New Orleans in Week 10 as it was a 14-point home favorite to the Falcons and dominated in a 26-9 loss. It was the fourth time — and the first since 2001 — that a team on a losing streak of at least six games beat a team on a winning streak of at least six games.

It was the first time since 2003 that a team with a record of 7-1 or better lost to a team with a record of 1-7 or worse. That snapped the Saints’ streak of 110 home games in which they reached double-digits scoring. They were one shy of the NFL record set by the Indianapolis Colts from 1997 to 2011.

One bright spot was receiver Michael Thomas, who had 13 receptions for 152 yards. Thomas has 407 receptions in 56 career games and surpassed Odell Beckham Jr. (61 games) as the fastest player to reach 400 career receptions in NFL history. Currently in his fourth season, Thomas surpassed Jarvis Landry (400 receptions) for the most receptions by a player in his first four seasons in league annals.

Thomas, who has 1,027 receiving yards this season, joins Mike Evans (2014-17), A.J. Green (2011-14) and Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss (1998-2001) as the only players to have at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of their first four seasons in NFL history.

What about the Buccaneers?

The Bucs snapped a four-game skid with a 30-27 win over Arizona. Jameis Winston completed 30-of-48 passes for 358 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Winston ended the Bucs’ opening drive with a pick where Cards DB Byron Murphy ran Chris Godwin’s route for him. INT No. 2 was a stare down to Godwin. Winston also air mailed what could have been a 47-yard score to Breshad Perriman.

Recent History

New Orleans beat Tampa Bay 31-24 in Week 5. Teddy Bridgewater passed for 314 yards and four touchdowns but Drew Brees is back now. Bridgewater completed 26 of 34 passes, with his two touchdown throws to Michael Thomas and one each to Jared Cook and Ted Ginn Jr.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers

Game takes place at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The Chiefs were supposed to play the Rams there last year but the field conditions were so bad that the NFL moved it to Los Angeles. There will be no such problems this year. This past spring, Estadio Azteca hired a field consultant recommended by the NFL who has been overseeing the field. It installed a new pipe drainage system, sand gravel base and irrigation system. In mid-June, new sod was installed.

Kansas City leads the AFC West but lost 35-32 in Tennessee on Sunday despite the return of Patrick Mahomes from injury. Making his 25th career start, Mahomes passed for 446 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 119.2 rating in the Chiefs’ Week 10 loss. Mahomes has 8,007 career passing yards, the most by a quarterback in his first 25 starts in NFL history.

The Chiefs are favorites for their matchup against the Chargers in Mexico.

Mahomes, who has 68 career touchdown passes, surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino (65 touchdown passes) for the most touchdown passes by a player in his first 25 career starts in NFL history. With his 16th career game of at least 300 passing yards, Mahomes tied Hall of Famer Kurt Warner (16 games) for the most games with at least 300 passing yards in a quarterback’s first 25 career starts in league annals.

What about the Chargers?

The Chargers’ playoff hopes are in jeopardy at 4-6 following last Thursday’s 26-24 loss in Oakland. Philip Rivers completed 17-of-31 passes for 207 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in the loss. Rivers lost left tackle Russell Okung to a groin injury on the opening drive and was under siege for the entirety of the game’s 60 minutes. Rivers was extremely fortunate to escape with “just” three picks, having two undone by penalty and countless more either dropped or narrowly missed.

Okung’s (groin) MRI revealed a strain. It’s a serious injury, but the Chargers are still hoping Okung won’t miss any time. Coach Anthony Lynn considers Okung “questionable” for Week 11. Fellow starting tackle Sam Tevi underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and won’t play Monday.

Some Injuries

Kansas City lost defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah for the remainder of the season after suffering a torn pec in the Week 10 loss to the Titans. Ogbah leads the team with 5.5 sacks after being acquired from the Browns for safety Eric Murray over the offseason. Left guard Martinas Rankin injured his knee in the loss and also is done for the year.
