2019 NFL Week 8 ATS Betting Picks

Written by on October 21, 2019

With one more game to come on Monday night in Week 7 of the NFL season, we are going to need to wait and see if the New England Patriots will join the unbeaten ranks of the San Francisco 49ers. That game is against the New York Jets, you would almost certainly think that the Patriots should be able to maintain their perfect record for one more week. With that in mind, we are looking ahead to NFL Week 8, which, for some teams, will mark the halfway point in their season.

As we do every week, we are going to break down the upcoming games to see if we can find some decent NFL wagers. We will get the ball rolling with some ATS picks, but be on the lookout for out SU and O/U picks, too.

2019 NFL Week 8 ATS Betting Picks

Cincinnati Bengals at LA Rams (-12 ½)

While we are talking about teams that are undefeated this season, we should also probably mention those that are still looking for a win. The Cincinnati Bengals are in that mix, and with a road trip to LA to face the Rams coming up, the chances of them snapping out of that losing streak, which actually extends to 9 games, does not look good.

In their last 6 games versus the Rams, the Bengals are just 1-4-1 ATS. As if there were not a convincing enough argument, the Rams are 9-3 ATS in their last 12, which includes a 37-10 hammering of the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday as a 3-point favorite.

NFL Week 8 Betting Trends

  • Bengals are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games
  • Bengals are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games played in October
  • Rams are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games
  • Rams are 6-3 ATS in their last 9 games played in week 8

Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts (-6 ½)

At this stage of the season, we may have seen enough to declare that the decision to sign Joe Flacco as their new QB has not been a good one for the 2-5 Denver Broncos.

The offense has sputtered quite dramatically and will need to be better when facing an Indianapolis Colts team that has been a good deal more competitive than expected after losing Andrew Luck to retirement.

The Colts are a healthy 4-1-1 ATS this season, but it is their record versus Denver that stands out here, as they are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 meetings with the Broncos.

NFL Week 8 Betting Trends

  • Broncos are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games against Indianapolis
  • Broncos are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games against an opponent in the AFC conference
  • Colts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games
  • Colts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games played in October

Oakland Raiders at Houston Texans (-7)

Given all that went on with the Raiders in the preseason, particularly with the cutting of Antonio Brown, this team has actually been a good deal more competitive than expected. While they are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games versus teams from the AFC South, they are also just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games played in October.

The Raiders are not favorites for NFL Week 8 against the Texans.

The Texans, meanwhile, are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games versus teams from the AFC West, but it is their play in Week 8 of the season that stands out, as they have covered the spread in each of their last 6 games played in that week.

NFL Week 8 Betting Trends

  • Raiders are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games against an opponent in the AFC South division
  • Raiders are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games played in October
  • Texans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against an opponent in the AFC West division
  • Texans are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games played in week 8

Green Bay Packers (-3) at Kansas City Chiefs

After a bit of a contentious start to the season, where QB Aaron Rodgers and the new Packers head coach did not appear to be on the same page, things have now played out nicely.

The Packers offense has adapted to the new system and have looked good doing so, with Rodgers having a record TD passing day in a 42-24 win over the Raiders in Week 7.

Next up will be a tough trip to KC to face a Chiefs team that will be without the services of Patrick Mahomes, which swings this one very much in the favor of Green Bay.

NFL Week 8 Betting Trends

  • Packers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games
  • Packers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games against an opponent in the AFC conference
  • Chiefs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against an opponent in the NFC North division
  • Chiefs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games played in week 8
