2019 NFL Week 8 SU Betting Picks

Written by on October 21, 2019

It’s hard to believe, but the midway point of the NFL season will be upon us this coming weekend. While it’s a little sad to see the season going by so quickly, it also means we are at the point where making wagers should be a little easier. We have now seen more than enough of every team in the league to have a decent idea of what to expect from each of them.

With that in mind, our goal here is to look ahead to Week 8 to see if we can come up with some NFL straight up bets that will help you boost your bankroll. As always, we will try to focus on games that the bookies see as being close, as that is the best way to find decent odds to play.

2019 NFL Week 8 SU Betting Picks

Tennessee Titans over Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This is a game that both teams really need to win if they are to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Buccaneers are sitting at 2-4 on the season, with the Tennessee Titans not faring much better at 3-4 on the year. The Titans did show some signs of life this past weekend, though, starting Ryan Tannehill at QB instead of Marcus Mariota. The end result was a 23-20 win over the LA Chargers at home.

The Titans will be home again this weekend and going against a team that they have dominated in recent meetings. In their last 7 home games versus the Bucs, the Titans are a perfect 7-0.

NFL Week 8 Betting Trends

  • Buccaneers are 2-8 SU in their last 10 games
  • Buccaneers are 4-16 SU in their last 20 games on the road
  • Titans are 2-4 SU in their last 6 games
  • Titans are 5-0 SU in their last 5 games against an opponent in the NFC conference

Seattle Seahawks over Atlanta Falcons

No-one, except perhaps for fans of the team in question, takes any joy in seeing a head coach get fired. There are times, though, when that firing begins to look totally inevitable. That seems to be the case with Dan Quinn, whose Atlanta Falcons are off to an inexplicable 1-6 start to the season.

They will be home this weekend against a Seattle Seahawks team that looks like one of the best in the league despite losing to the Baltimore Ravens over the weekend. This is a Seattle team that is 11-4 SU in their last 15 games, so look for them to pile on the misery here.

NFL Week 8 Betting Trends

  • Seahawks are 11-4 SU in their last 15 games
  • Seahawks are 2-6 SU in their last 8 games against Atlanta
  • Falcons are 0-5 SU in their last 5 games
  • Falcons are 7-2 SU in their last 9 games against an opponent in the NFC West division

Buffalo Bills over Philadelphia Eagles

The recent history of the Buffalo Bills tends to make us all a little wary about getting to carried away with what the team is doing this season. Perhaps it’s time to cut them a break. After all, they are now 6-1 on the season, with that lone loss coming at the hands of the New England Patriots.

The Bills are favorites against the Eagles in NFL Week 8.

They will have another tough one in Week 8 when they host the Philadelphia Eagles, but this is a Philly team that looks to be there for the taking. Buffalo has won 4 of their last 5 games at home, and while this might be a close one, I like the Bills to win.

NFL Week 8 Betting Trends

  • Eagles are 2-4 SU in their last 6 games
  • Eagles are 1-4 SU in their last 5 games on the road
  • Bills are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games
  • Bills are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games at home

Green Bay Packers over Kansas City Chiefs

Just a couple of short weeks ago we all had this one circled on the calendar, but with Patrick Mahomes out with an injury, some of the shine has come off of this matchup.

This is not to say that the Packers are going to stroll into Arrowhead and walk away with an easy win, but that injury does immediately put them in as a favorite here. Matt Moore looked good when he took over from the injured Mahomes, but can he keep pace with a Packers offense that is suddenly clicking? I don’t think so.

NFL Week 8 Betting Trends

  • Packers are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games
  • Packers are 2-4 SU in their last 6 games when playing on the road against Kansas City
  • Chiefs are 5-2 SU in their last 7 games
  • Chiefs are 12-5 SU in their last 17 games at home
