While there’s absolutely no doubt that former LSU star Joe Burrow is going to be the first player selected in the 2020 NFL draft Odds, things could get a little dicey after that, even though former Alabama star signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa is widely expected to be the second quarterback taken in this year’s draft. Complicating this wager is the fact that many draft analysts think Oregon’s Justin Herbert could be picked before Tua. Let’s find out right now which quarterbacks will be picked second and third in this year’s NFL draft and whether or not the Detroit Lions will blow it with the third overall pick.
2020 NFL Draft Quarterback and Third Overall Odds, Picks & Predictions
Who Will be the 2nd Quarterback Drafted?
- Tua Tagovailoa -550
- Justin Herbert +300
- Jordan Love +1000
- Field +2000
Most draft experts believe that Tua Tagovailoa would have been the top overall pick in this year’s draft had he not suffered a gruesome hip injury that ruined his 2019 season at Alabama. Still, with recent positive medical reports and a video of Tagovailoa showing the lefty looking great recently, I don’t believe there’s any way that some team picks Justin Herbert before they go for Tua. If Miami doesn’t get Tagovailoa at No. 5, he’ll almost assuredly go off the board a bit earlier, possibly to the Chargers if they can work a trade with the Lions or Giants who owns the third and fourth picks respectively. No matter what happens on or before the upcoming 2020 NFL draft, I don’t see any way that Tua Tagovailoa isn’t the second quarterback picked.

Who Will be the 3rd Quarterback Drafted?
- Justin Herbert -350
- Jordan Love +225
- Tua Tagovailoa +600
- Jacob Eason +4000
- Field +3000
Since I’ve got Tua going off the board as the second quarterback taken in this year’s draft, then that means Justin Herbert is the definitive pick to be the third quarterback taken. If no one jumps ahead of Miami at No. 5 to get Tua Tagovailoa then you can expect the Charges to take the talented signal-caller with the sixth overall pick. If the Bolts do manage to move up and get Tua first, the Dolphins will gladly make Herbert the third quarterback taken with the fifth pick. No matter what goes down on draft day, Herbert will be the third quarterback taken, mostly because of question marks about his lack of on-field leadership skills.

Who Will Be The Third Overall Pick?
- Jeffery Okudah +130
- Tua Tagovailoa +175
- Chase Young +500
- Isaiah Simmons +600
- Derrick Brown +1500
- Field +800
The Detroit Lions will have options – and plenty of offers – for their third overall pick in this year’s draft. However, the Lions have a gaping hole at cornerback after trading veteran Darius Slay to Philadelphia and Ohio State corner Jeffrey Okudah is widely expected to be a future Pro Bowler. Could Detroit try to get some more draft day capital by trading the pick to Miami or the LA Chargers while hoping they can land Okudah at No. 5 or No. 6? I think it’s quite likely since no other team in the Top 6 seemingly needs a starting cornerback like Okudah. Still, I think the Lions will actually blow it by keeping the third pick and taking Okudah there when then could definitely land him at either No. 5 or No. 6. I’ve got Okudah going third overall, though this one will likely come down to the last minute before the Lions make their pick official.
