Best Bets For 2016 NFL Week 1

After what seems like an eternity, we are finally ready for some NFL football action, with Week 1 of the season set for this weekend. It’s going to be a long road to Super Bowl betting, and every single team will be looking to get off to a fast start. The same rules apply for those of us who love to bet on the pigskin, as we all want to build our bankroll early so that we can get a little creative as the season progresses. There are some games that jump off the page in Week 1 in terms of good looking bets, so let’s see if we can get off to a fast start with some wins.

A Closer Look At The Best Bets For 2016 NFL Week 1

   

Atlanta Falcons (-3) Vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Both of these teams look to be pretty far off the level being set by the Carolina Panthers in the NFC South, and that means that the Wild Card is the most likely route into the postseason. Getting wins against division opponents is a good way to start, and you have to like the Atlanta Falcons in their home opener. Atlanta has a brutal schedule to look forward to this season, and a win here might be a confidence builder. I like them by a TD here.

Cleveland Browns Vs Philadelphia Eagles (OVER 41)

With RGIII in as the starting QB, the Cleveland Browns seem to be indicating that they are going to try and take an offensive approach to their games this season. While Griffin does have big play potential, he also has the ability to turn the ball over on an all too consistent basis. This should make for some exciting times in Cleveland this season, and I also believe that it’s going to make for high-scoring games too. Over the last 3 seasons, the Browns have seen all 6 of their games in September go OVER the point total. Look for more of the same here.

Minnesota Vikings Vs Tennessee Titans (UNDER 40.5)

The Vikings were considered a solid pick to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 51, but their chances may have taken a bit of a knock with the loss of QB Teddy Bridgewater for the year through injury. It’s be either Shaun Hill or Mark Sanchez under center on Sunday, which will likely mean a lot of hand offs to Adrian Peterson. The Vikings defense is brilliant, and the combination of their solid play with a steady dose of the run game equals a low score. I’m going under the 40.5-point total for this one.

Dallas Cowboys (Pick) Vs New York Giants

Given how things went in the preseason, there was the distinct possibility that we might have been looking at a QB controversy in Dallas this season. That was all taken care of when Tony Romo broke a bone in his back and was sidelined for 8-10 weeks. It’ll be Dak Prescott who will be under center for the Cowboys this weekend, and if he can play how he did in the preseason, this will be easy money.
