Buffalo Bills 2018 NFL Betting Guide

Written by on June 27, 2018

The Buffalo Bills had what can only be described as a fantastic season in 2017 after going 9-7 and reaching the playoffs for the first time in nearly two decades. Unfortunately, the Bills decided to blow up the vast majority of their roster, starting with a massive change at quarterback and now they’ll look like a completely different team in 2018.You see, despite his steady play under center, head coach Sean McDermott apparently couldn’t wait to jettison veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor in favor of the inexperienced combination of veteran backup A.J. McCarron and second-year signal-caller Nathan Peterman and ensuing drafting of rookie quarterback Josh Allen with the seventh overall pick in the draft. Now, things look like they’re going to get worse in Buffalo before they get better again, if they ever do. If you’re looking for betting value on the Bills this coming season, then let’s find out just which games on Buffalo’s 2018 schedule you just shouldn’t miss betting on.

Buffalo Bills 2018 NFL Betting Guide

Week 2: Sunday, Sept. 16, vs. Los Angeles Chargers, 1:00 PM ET

The Bills decided not to hire former interim coach Anthony Lynn and now, they’re going to pay for that decision as Lynn leads his  Los Angeles Chargers team into Buffalo for what looks like a blowout win just waiting to happen – or maybe you don’t remember the Bolts’  54-24 beatdown of the Bills in which they picked off Peterman in his first start after McDermott foolishly named him the starter over Taylor.NFL Betting Pick: Chargers 31 Bills 21

Week 3: Sunday, Sept. 23, at Minnesota Vikings, 1:00 PM ET

Minnesota has an absolutely overpowering defense that I am fully expecting to demolish any passing attempts that either McCarron or Peterman have in this Week 2 mismatch. The Vikings will cruise to victory under new starting quarterback Kirk Cousins.NFL Betting Pick: Vikings 28 Bills 14

Week 4: Sunday, Sept. 30, at Green Bay Packers, 1:00 PM ET

If I was Sean McDermott, I’d have all of my quarterbacks stand on Green Bay’s sideline and ask Aaron Rodgers all kinds of questions on how to actually play quarterback in the NFL. Green Bay may not be a powerhouse this coming season, but they’ll beat the Bills at home in a Week 4 mismatch that looks like a lock to me!NFL Betting Pick: Packers 27 Bills 17Are the Bills a safe bet for the 2018 NFL season?

Week 6: Sunday, Oct. 14, at Houston Texans, 1:00 PM ET

The Bills were one of the completely foolish teams that passed up on Houston’s Deshaun Watson when I kept saying he should have been the top pick of the draft. Now Buffalo can watch in agony at the franchise quarterback they could have had. I’m thinking J.J. Watt and Houston’s defense are going to have a field day in this one while Watson makes the Bills pay for their poor decision-making.NFL Betting Pick: Texans 35 Bills 14

Week 12: Sunday, Nov. 25, vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, 1:00 PM ET

The Jaguars are looking to go at least one step further than they did a year ago when they reached the 2017 AFC Championship game and gave New England a hard way to go before fading late. Jacksonville’s stout defense, which ranked second overall and second in points allowed (16.8 ppg) is going to ‘put the clamps’ on whoever starts this game at quarterback for Buffalo.NFL Betting Pick: Jacksonville 24 Buffalo 17

Week 17: Sunday, Dec. 30, vs. Miami Dolphins, 1:00 PM ET

While I’ve got the Bills struggling mightily in 2018, they’ll at least finish off their campaign with a division win over a Miami Dolphins team that I expect to be mediocre at best in what looks like Ryan Tannehill’s final season as the starting quarterback (hopefully). Buffalo’s defense will lead the way to victory in this one!NFL Betting Pick: Bills 27 Dolphins 21
