Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers may have come up short when it came to fulfilling their Super Bowl hopes a year ago, but the consistently-winning NFC South franchise will enter 2018 with some legitimate playoff hopes once again. Whether the Panthers live up to their intended postseason goals or not, there are a bunch of interesting games on Carolina’s 2018 schedule that NFL betting aficionados everywhere just shouldn’t miss out on.
Thanks to my insightful look at a half-dozen games that I believe are must-bet matchups, you’re going to be able to increase your chances of cashing in on each contest. Let’s get started.
Week 1: Sunday, Sept. 9, vs. Dallas Cowboys, 4:25 PM ET
Playing the Dallas Cowboys generally brings out the best in every team and Carolina is no different. You had best believe that the Panthers will be more than ready for their regular season and home opener against a Cowboys team that will enter 2018 wit the same questions marks on defense that has plagued them in recent years. Carolina’s stout defense will keep Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott largely in check while Carolina’s Christian McCaffrey makes his presence felt from the outset of the 2018 season.
NFL Betting Pick: Panthers 28 Cowboys 20
Week 7: Sunday, Oct. 21, at Philadelphia Eagles, 1:00 PM ET
The Eagles are the better team on both sides of the ball, plus they’ll be playing at home in this Week 7 showdown of Super Bowl hopefuls. Carolina certainly won’t roll over, but they are going down in the City of Brotherly Love in a thriller!
NFL Betting Pick: Eagles 27 Panthers 24
Week 9: Sunday, Nov. 4, vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1:00 PM ET
Tampa Bay made what I believe is a major boo-boo by retaining head coach Dirk Koetter and now they’re going to pay for that mistake in 2018. There’s absolutely no way that Carolina loses this Week 9 home date against their NFC South division rivals – and I’’m thinking a sweep of the Bucs is in order for this coming season.
NFL Betting Pick: Panthers 35 Buccaneers 21
Week 14: Sunday, Dec. 9, at Cleveland Browns, 1:00 PM ET
I like the offseason moves that the Browns made, both, in free agency and the NFL Draft, but the Cleveland won’t be ready to beat a legitimate Super Bowl contender like the Ravens in 2018. Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey lead the way to victory in this one!
NFL Betting Pick: Panthers 31 Browns 21
Week 15: Monday, Dec. 17, vs. New Orleans Saints, 8:30 PM ET
Carolina will be looking for some revenge against New Orleans after getting swept by their NFC South division rivals last season and getting blown out at home 34-13 in Week 3. Cam Newton loves the bright lights of Monday Night Football and I like him to lead Carolina to victory in Week 15 as part of a regular season split with the Saints.
NFL Betting Pick: Panthers 28 Saints 24
Week 16: Sunday, Dec. 23, vs. Atlanta Falcons, 1:00 PM ET
The Panthers split their two regular season meeting with Atlanta last season and I’m expecting the same thing in 2018. Both teams will be going all-out for what looks like a huge Week 16 divisional showdown to me, but Carolina will get it simply because they’re at home.
NFL Betting Pick: Panthers 21 Falcons 17
