The Chicago Bears will have a completely new look when they take the field in 2018 under first-time head coach Matt Nagy. Chicago management made the decision to change coaches after underachieving for three straight years under former head coach John Fox. Now, as they get set for the upcoming 2018 regular season, the Bears will look to snap a sting of four straight last place finishes in the NFC North and they’ve got some positive things going for them. Whether they’ll be able to get out of the cellar in Year 1 of the Nagy era remains to be seen, but Chicago does have a bunch of must-bet matchups on their 2018 schedule that you shouldn’t miss placing your NFL betting picks on. Here’s a look at six of those contests!
Chicago Bears 2018 NFL Betting Guide
Week 1: Sunday, Sept. 9, at Green Bay Packers, 8:20 PM ET
The Bears have some real positives going under Nagy, the former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator the past two years, but they certainly won’t be able to get past the division rival Green Bay Packers on the road in Week 1. The Packers and their faithful fans at Lambeau Field will be totally fired up to see quarterback Aaron Rodgers back at full health in this one!
NFL Betting Pick: Packers 31 Bears 21
Week 2: Monday, Sept. 17, vs. Seattle Seahawks, 8:15 PM ET
While it’s clear that Seattle isn’t the same perennial Super Bowl powerhouse they’ve been for the better past of the last half-decade, the Seahawks are still the more mature and more complete team in this Week 2 affair. While I like what I saw out of now, second-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky last year and believe Chicago has clearly found their franchise quarterback, Trubisky isn’t anywhere near the caliber of quarterback that Russell Wilson is right now. Seattle wins by a touchdown!
NFL Betting Pick: Seahawks 27 Bears 20
Week 7: Sunday, Oct. 21, vs. New England Patriots, 1:00 PM ET
By the time Week 7 rolls around, Chicago will have a couple of nice wins under their belt. However, this matchup looks like a complete and absolute spanking just waiting to happen, even at home!
NFL Betting Pick: Patriots 35 Bears 17
Week 10: Sunday, Nov. 11, vs. Detroit Lions, 1:00 PM ET
The Bears may or may not finish in last place in the NFC North in 2018, but they’re not going winless in their six division matchups. Chicago gets the win over a Detroit Lions team that I don’t think made the best hire by naming former Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia as their new head coach.
NFL Betting Pick: Bears 28 Lions 24
Week 11: Sunday, Nov. 18, vs. Minnesota Vikings, 1:00 PM ET
Even at home, Chicago is completely and utterly overmatched against a Minnesota Vikings team that has the best defense in all of football and some seriously legitimate Super Bowl hopes after signing veteran Kirk Cousins as their new starting quarterback for the next handful of years.
NFL Betting Pick: Vikings 28 Bears 10
Week 14: Sunday, Dec. 9, vs. Los Angeles Rams, 1:00 PM ET
I don’t want to sound like a defeatist, but there’s absolutely no way that Chicago beats a Los Angeles Rams team that has arguably the most explosive offense in all of football and now, a star-studded defense that looks like it could become one of the very best on football after their offseason plethora of veteran free agent additions. Chicago is going down in this Week 14 matchup, even though I think the Bears will have a mostly positive 2018 campaign under Nagy.
NFL Betting Pick: Rams 31 Bears 17
