Cincinnati Bengals 2018 NFL Betting Guide

While the Cincinnati Bengals has what looked like an underwhelming 7-9 season a year ago, the longtime AFC North based franchise actually had one of the most positive finishes of any team in the National Football League in 2017. You see, despite their 0-3 start and 3-6 record after nine games, Cincinnati managed to win two straight and four of their final seven games while beating Baltimore on the road in their finale to keep the division rival Ravens out of the playoffs a year ago.

Their finish was so positive they even decided to bring back longtime head coach Marvin Lewis after initially announcing that 2017 would be his 15th and final season with the franchise. Now, as the Bengals get set for what looks like a promising 2018 campaign, NFL betting enthusiasts everywhere need to know which games on Cincinnati’s upcoming schedule look like must-bet matchups that are offering a bunch of value.

Let’s get down to business right now.

Cincinnati Bengals 2018 NFL Betting Guide

Week 1: Sunday, Sept. 9, at Indianapolis Colts, 1:00 PM ET

The Indianapolis Colts are expecting to have franchise quarterback Andrew Luck back under center in 2018, although he may or may not be ready to start this regular season opener after missing the entire 2017 campaign. Whether Luck starts this contest or not, I like Cincinnati to get the big road win against a Colts team that has a ton of question marks all over the field in addition to the huge one they have at quarterback. I’m expecting Cincinnati to pick up right where they left off last season!

NFL Betting Pick: Bengals 31 Colts 21

Week 2: Thursday, Sept. 13, vs. Baltimore Ravens, 8:20 PM ET

The Bengals showed up with an absolutely fantastic effort in their Week 17 regular season finale to beat Baltimore 31-27 and keep the Ravens out of the playoffs and I believe they’re going to back that performance up by beating Baltimore again in Week 2 while delivering a message that they are going to contend for a playoff berth. Besides, is Joe Flacco, really better than Andy Dalton? I think not!

NFL Betting Pick: Cincinnati 24 Baltimore 21

Week 5: Sunday, Oct. 7, vs. Miami Dolphins, 1:00 PM ET

If you’re looking for a virtual lock of a win on Cincinnati’s 2018 schedule, then look no further. I’m expecting Miami to be mediocre at best and probably closer to awful in 2018 while again, I’m thinking the Bengals are going to contend for a playoff berth. The Bengals defense will harass Miami’s Ryan Tannehill into a mediocre performance while Andy Dalton, Joe Mixon and John Ross mostly have their way against Miami’s defense.

NFL Betting Pick: Bengals 30 Dolphins 17

Are the Bengals a safe bet for thr 2018 NFL Season?

Week 6: Sunday, Oct. 14, vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 1:00 PM ET

I know the Bengals haven’t beaten the Steelers since Nov. 1, 2015, but I’m thinking that six-game losing streak is coming to an end in this Week 5 matchup against their longtime AFC North division rivals. The Bengals narrowly lost to the Steelers 23-20 at home in Week 13 last season and have lost three of their last six to the Steelers by four points or less. Dalton and company get the win at home in this one, almost assuredly by a field goal or less!

NFL Betting Pick: Bengals 21 Steelers 20

Week 8: Sunday, Oct. 28, vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1:00 PM ET

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times. Tampa Bay was foolish to bring back head coach dirk Koetter when it’s clear to me that he lost his team’s confidence last season. Oh well, now the Buccaneers are going to pay for their foolish decision making and this Week 8 matchup will be one of their many losses in 2018.

NFL Betting Pick: Bengals 35 Buccaneers 21

Week 12: Sunday, Nov. 25, vs. Cleveland Browns, 1:00 PM ET

While I absolutely love the vast majority of moves the Cleveland Browns have made in free agency and the NFL Draft the last two years and I believe they’re going to win as many as a half-doze games in 2018, this divisional matchup won’t be one of them. Cincinnati should be fighting to stay relevant for a playoff berth by the time this Week 12 contest rolls around they’ll take it very seriously to get the touchdown win at the very least!

NFL Betting Pick: Bengals 28 Browns 20
