NFL Game Odds and Wild Card Weekend Parlay Picks

While we generally break down all of the matches and NFL game odds we preview here on an individual basis, it’s not everyone who likes to bet that way. Let’s face it, if you want to give your bankroll a little boost, there are few better ways to do it than by hitting a nice 2- or 3-team parlay. It’s certainly a riskier bet, but the increased odds make it one that many bettors simply cannot resist. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some potential parlay plays for this coming weekend’s football action.

Let’s start off by keeping it simple and selecting the four teams that I think will be victorious this weekend. Straight up, I think that New England (-300), Seattle (-525), Green Bay (-250), and Denver (-300) stand the best chance. The fact that Seattle are such big favorites drags down the overall value of this parlay bet, but you would still get a nice $196 and change paid out on a $100 bet. Of course, the way to increase that is to try and get an underdog in the mix somewhere. The best chance of an upset this weekend is the Cowboys (+210) at Green Bay, so let’s remove the Packers and put Dallas in there to see what happens. That lone change takes the potential winnings to up over $550.

New England Pats

Personally, I prefer playing the line, simply because you then start getting into the bigger parlay payouts. I like all of the favorites except the Packers to cover this weekend, and since playing the spread usually means -110 odds for each wager, you are looking at getting back over $1,200 on that $100 bet of all of your lined teams come up on your parlay.

If you would sooner play individual games, one of the best ways to parlay is to play the team you like SU and ATS. For example, let’s take a look at what I think is the safest bet all weekend, which is the Seahawks at home to the Carolina Panthers. That -525 number on the Seahawks to win is not particularly appealing, but if you parlay it with the spread, you are looking at getting back $127 on your $100 bet. In the games that you are not sure of in regards the line, which will be the case for many with the aforementioned Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers game, you can hedge your bets by playing a pair of different parlays. Take the team you think will win, and then add the Cowboys to cover on one and Green Bay to cover on the other. As long as the team you pick to win comes up, you will still be in profit by hitting one of the parlays.
