The Detroit Lions sit at the bottom of the NFC North Division with their 1-3 record and Mybookie Sportsbook oddsmakers expect that number to be 1-4 after Sunday as the Lions are home underdogs against division rival Green Bay Packers.

Green Bay was swept by Detroit in 2017. It was 30-17 Lions at Lambeau Field. Matthew Stafford passed for 361 yards and two touchdowns to Marvin Jones. The Packers were without an injured Aaron Rodgers. In Week 17 in Detroit, the Lions won 35-11 as Green Bay again was without Rodgers. Stafford threw three TDs in what would be Jim Caldwell’s last game as Lions coach.
The Packers are 8-4 at Detroit under Mike McCarthy, including wins in two of the last three games. The Packers lead the regular-season series, 98-70-7 (.580), and have won both postseason contests the two have played. Green Bay’s 98 wins over the Lions are the most the Packers have against any team.
Why Bet on Green Bay?
The Packers (2-1-1) dominated the Bills 22-0 on Sunday. Green Bay sacked Buffalo rookie quarterback Josh Allen seven times and turned him over three times. The Packers’ last defensive shutout came on Halloween of 2010 on the road against the Jets. Their last shutout at Lambeau was the year prior against Detroit.
The Bills crossed the Green Bay 30-yard line just twice in 12 possessions. Both of those drives ended in turnovers – an interception by rookie cornerback Jaire Alexander (who later exited with a groin injury), and a strip of Allen by defensive lineman Kenny Clark. Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had the defense’s other pick as Buffalo managed just 145 total yards and was only 3-of-16 on third downs.
Third-year outside linebacker Kyler Fackrell had three of the seven sacks in the best game of his young career, and Buffalo’s 145 total yards were the fewest allowed by Green Bay since Week 16 of 2014 (109 at Tampa Bay).
Aaron Rodgers completed 22-of-40 passes for 298 yards, one touchdown, and an interception, adding five carries for 31 additional yards. Rodgers was upset in his post-game press conference about the Packers’ lack of production. A positive was Rodgers’ increased mobility. Although still nowhere close to 100 percent, Rodgers did look healthier and more willing to run.
Rodgers’ pick was a tip drill from Jimmy Graham, who also caught Rodgers’ score. It was the duo’s first end zone connection. Aaron Jones rushed 11 times for 65 yards and a touchdown, adding a 17-yard reception. Jones once again came off the bench behind Jamaal Williams. His first touch did not come until the final play of the first quarter, but Jones proceeded to easily out-gain Williams 82-27 while out-touching him 12-11. It was Jones who scored the Pack’s lone ground touchdown, running over a defensive back at the goal line. Jones has now out-produced Williams in each of his 2018 appearances.
Davante Adams caught 8-of-14 targets for 81 yards. With 25 percent of the season in the books, Adams is on pace for 112/1,140/12. Green Bay was without starting WR Randall Cobb due to a hamstring injury.

Why Bet on Detroit?
The Lions lost 26-24 in Dallas on Sunday on a 38-yard field goal as time expired. The winning play came after Matthew Stafford had put the Lions in front with 2:17 remaining on a 38-yard touchdown to Golden Tate, their second TD connection of the day. The best day of the season for a previously struggling Dallas offense — 414 yards — handed Stafford his third straight loss at the home of the Cowboys, seven years after his only win in his first trip to AT&T Stadium. The former Dallas-area high school star threw for 307 yards.
Tate secured eight catches for 132 yards and those two scores on eight targets. The veteran slot man got his day started with a masterful 45-yard touchdown, making Jeff Heath and Jordan Lewis miss on his way to the end zone. Tate came up huge on the Lions’ final drive, dusting Xavier Woods for a 35-yard pick-up before capping the drive with a 38-yard touchdown on a deep heave from Stafford, which gave Detroit a one-point lead with 2:17 left in the fourth quarter. It was Tate’s first career game with 100-plus yards and two touchdowns.
Kerryon Johnson delivered 55 yards and a touchdown on nine carries while converting his lone target for a one-yard gain. LeGarrette Blount managed just seven yards on 12 carries. There wasn’t a lot of rushing work to go around on Sunday as the Lions logged just 20 carries.
Detroit played without star defensive end Ziggy Ansah. It was Ansah’s third straight absence after injuring his shoulder in Week 1. Lions right guard T.J. Lang left Sunday’s game with a concussion. He was helped off in the first quarter. It’s been a rough injury year for Lang, who has also been battling back issues. If Lang sits here, Kenny Wiggins will take over at right guard for Detroit.
