NFL Parlay Picks for 2018 Playoffs Divisional Round

If you like stringing wagers together as part of a potentially bankroll-boosting parlay and you’re looking for value on this coming weekend’s slate of NFL divisional round matchups, then look no further. I’ve got a trio of parlay picks on three of the four divisional round matchups that all look like they’re offering excellent value for one reason or another. With that thought in mind, let’s get started with my trio of NFL parlay picks, but don’t forget to check the NFL Playoffs odds on a daily basis for any possible changes.

NFL Parlay Picks for 2018 Playoffs Divisional Round

Atlanta Falcons (11-6) at Philadelphia Eagles (13-3)

  • When: Saturday, January 13, 2017, 4:35 PM ET
  • Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA
  • TV: NBC
  • NFL Odds: Falcons -3
  • Total: 44.5

I know the Eagles won an impressive 13 games during the regular season and that they’re playing at home against the Atlanta Falcons in their divisional matchup this coming Saturday, but there’s a reason why the Birds are the first team in history to be a divisional round underdog despite being the top seed.

Unfortunately for the Eagles and their win-starved fan base the Birds just don’t look nearly as good under the direction of veteran backup Nick Foles as they did under second-year star signal-caller Carson Wentz before he went down with a season-ending ACL tear in Week 14 against the Rams.

Philly got shut out 6-0 in its regular-season finale against Dallas and has scored a grand total of 19 points over their final two regular season games, not to mention they almost got upset by the division rival Giants in their narrow Week 15 road win with Foles at the helm.

I had it out yesterday with a colleague the other day that kept on insisting that Philadelphia would be fine without starting quarterback while I argued that no team that loses their best player is going to be as good as they previously were and I believe that’s just a simple fact.

Atlanta is playing its best football of the season at just the right time and they’ve been shutting down their opponents with alarming regularity over the past eight weeks. The Falcons held four of their last eight regular-season opponents to 17 points or less and finished the regular season ranked ninth in total defense and eighth in points allowed (19.7 ppg).

  • Philadelphia is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games
  • Philadelphia is 12-2 SU in its last 14 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Philadelphia’s last 7 games

NFL Parlay Pick: Atlanta Falcons -3

Tennessee Titans (9-7) at New England Patriots (13-3)

  • When: Saturday, January 13, 2018, 7:15 PM ET
  • Where: Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA
  • TV: CBS
  • NFL odds: Patriots -13.5
  • Total: 47.5

The Titans may have pulled off a stunning comeback upset over the wildly inconsistent Chiefs in their 22-21 wild-card win this past weekend while coming all the way back from a 21-3 halftime deficit, but Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are far from being considered wildly inconsistent.

New England is playing at home where they rarely lose, especially in the postseason and Tom Brady and company finished the regular season ranked first in total offense, second in passing, 10th in rushing and second in scoring (28.6 ppg), but they are not the pick for this NFL Parlay ticket.

While the Patriots were uncharacteristically average in ranking 29th in total defense, 30th against the pass and 20th against the run, New England still managed to keep their opponents out of the end zone at a high rate by ranking fifth in points allowed (18.5 ppg).

While Tennessee beat the Chiefs up in the second half with some smash-mouth football, fueled by Derrick Henry’s powerful rushing, the Titans are actually pretty offensively-challenged this season and actually gave up more points per game (22.2 ppg, 17th) than they averaged during the regular season (20.9 ppg, 19th).

Be sure to include the Patriots in your NFL Parlay Ticket for the Divisional Round.

I’m going to encourage you to back the Patriots to get the home win to advance to the AFC Championship game. I’m also going to advise you to back the Titans to cover the spread as nearly two-touchdown road dogs.

Tennessee’s run-first, ball-control offense is going to chew up just enough clock and yardage between the red zones to help the Titans cover the chalk in this one. Besides, Tennessee is a near-perfect 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record.

Latest NFL Betting Trends for Divisional Round

  • Tennessee is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games
  • Tennessee is 8-4 SU in its last 12 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Tennessee’s last 7 games
  • New England is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 games
  • New England is 11-1 SU in its last 12 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of New England’s last 5 games

NFL Parlay Pick: Tennessee Titans +13.5

Jacksonville Jaguars (10-6) at Pittsburgh Steelers (13-3)

  • When: Sunday, January 14, 2018, 1:05 PM ET
  • Where: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA
  • TV: CBS
  • NFL Odds: Steelers -7.5
  • Total: 42

Jacksonville narrowly got past the mediocre Buffalo Bills 10-3 in the wild-card round on Sunday, but they certainly didn’t provoke any fear in doing so. The Jags got the win despite getting just 87 passing yards from Bortles, although the oft-maligned signal-caller did add 88 rushing yards and toss one TD pass in the win.

Powerful rookie running back Leonard Fournette was held to a modest 57 rushing yards on 21 carries. More importantly for me, the Steelers will be out for pure, unadulterated, revenge in this AFC divisional matchup after getting beaten senseless by Jacksonville in their stunning 30-9 Week 5 home loss to the Jags.

Of course, it was that loss to Jacksonville that completely turned the Steelers season around as they went on to win their next eight games and 10 of their final 11 games overall.

Simply put, I like Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers to extract the revenge they’re seeking, against a Jaguars team that has largely struggled over the last three weeks and has a quarterback in Blake Bortles that I have absolutely no faith in whatsoever. If you didn’t know before, Pittsburgh is a near-perfect 7-1 ATS in their last eight home playoff games.

Back the Steelers to cover the chalk by getting the double-digit win at home!
