Why Consider Betting on the Atlanta Falcons Odds at -3?
Why should you consider betting on the Falcons to win this NFC divisional matchup despite being on the road? Well, because right now, the Falcons are playing their best football of the season at just the right time, which is why they dominate the NFL Spread for this one.
Atlanta closed out the regular season by winning three of their final four – and six of their final eight games overall. Matt Ryan and company ranked 15th in scoring during the regular season (22.1 ppg) but, still have the ability to put points on the board in a hurry with their handful of gifted skill position stars like wide receiver Julio Jones and running backs Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman.
More importantly, though, Atlanta now has an excellent defense that ranked ninth in total defense and eighth in points allowed (19.7 ppg). Now, the Falcons head to the City of Brotherly Love for their NFC divisional round showdown after shutting down the league’s highest-scoring offense by beating the Los Angeles Rams 26-13 in their statement-making wild-card win on Saturday.
Ryan passed for 218 yards and one touchdown while Freeman rushed for 66 yards and another score. Julio Jones caught nine passes for a team-high 94 yards and one TD and Atlanta’s defense recovered two fumbles in the win. The Falcons also won the time of possession battle by almost fifteen minutes while sacking Rams quarterback Jared Goff three times and forcing him into a difficult 24-for-45 passing day.

Why Consider Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles Odds at +3?
Why should you consider betting on Philly as a 3-point home dog in this contest? Well, because they’re playing at home and still have a bunch of gifted skill position players of their own in guys like tight end Zach Ertz, wide receivers Alshon Jeffrey and Nelson Agholor and running backs Jay Ajayi and LeGarrette Blount among others.
Philadelphia won three of their final four regular-season games, but they haven’t looked very solid in doing so. The Eagles looked almost clueless in their 6-0 shutout loss against Dallas in their regular season finale even though veteran backup Nick Foles didn’t play the entire game.
Now, with Foles starting in place of the star, second-year signal-caller Carson Wentz, Philly has scored a grand total of 19 points over their final two regular-season games not to mention the fact that they almost got upset by the division rival Giants in their narrow Week 15 road win over the lowly G-Men. Make no mistake about it, Philadelphia clearly looks like a different team-high since Wentz went down with a season-ending ACL tear in Week 14 against the Rams.

Expert Analysis and Prediction
I’m just going to get right to the point by saying that I just don’t see any way that the Eagles are going to take out an Atlanta team that is clearly playing excellent football on both sides of the ball and particularly on the defensive side. The Falcons have held four of their last eight regular-season opponents to 17 points or less and Philly, unfortunately, just isn’t as explosive as they were offensively under Carson Wentz.
Atlanta is playing some lockdown defense right now and I fully expect the Falcons to shut down Foles and the Birds to get the outright road win and ATS cover. Atlanta has gone 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record while Philadelphia has gone 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. Simple and plain, Atlanta wins and covers the NFL spread everyone!
Pick: Atlanta Falcons -3
