Sure NFL Winners Against the Spread for Week 10
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens (-8.5)
Week 10 NFL ATS Pick: Baltimore (-8.5)
There is really no argument with the Oddsmakers about this one. The Ravens have been tearing apart the Browns since time immemorial and I don’t see a reason that should change in 2016. With a 14-2 record in their last 16 meetings, with more than half of those victories coming by 8-or-more points, the Ravens should be able to get the job done here quite handily. Oh, and it isn’t just about history, the Ravens had a very solid offseason that is sure to come as a huge advantage against a Cleveland Browns team that is filled with several holes in the roster and is largely expected to be on a rebuild agenda rather than compete meaningfully in the 2016 NFL lines.
Houston Texans (-1) at Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 10 NFL ATS Pick: Texans (-1)
Both the Texans and Jaguars invested wisely in the offseason and are among the biggest winners from the Free Agency and NFL Draft. The difference, however, is that the Texans are well-ahead of the Jaguars in their rebuilding agenda; something that can be affirmed by Houston’s back-to-back winning season, including their AFC South title-winning run in 2015. Against a struggling Jacksonville team that has a combined record of 12-36 (.250) since 2013 and still needs one or two more years to make its breakout, you’d be hard-done to find a better Week 10 NFL pick than the Texans, who only need to win this game by 2 points to cover the extremely cheap point spread.
Seattle Seahawks at New England Patriots (-2)
Week 10 NFL ATS Pick: Patriots (-2)
Russell Wilson and his gang are certainly capable of cranking up the heat and making life a living hell for the Patriots, but last I checked, Tom Brady has never lost to Wilson and you’d have to go back as many as 10-plus years ago to find the last time New England lost to Seattle. The record books have it that the Patriots have won 3 of the last 4 meetings in this series dating back to 2004, including that hardly-fought victory in the Super Bowl 49 game. Keeping all that in mind, you’d be a fool to test fate by picking against New England and the easy spread in this mouthwatering game.
Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers (-8.5)
Week 10 NFL ATS Pick: Cowboys (+8.5)
Talented as the Steelers will be in 2016, playing the entire season without stud receiver Martavis Bryant will surely have an impact on Pittsburgh’s aerial game. You doubt that, see what happened to Green Bay’s passing game in 2015 when Jordy Nelson had to miss the whole year. That being said, there is still a lot of talent for Ben Roethlisberger to exploit offensively, including the league’s leading ball-catcher in 2015 in Antonio Brown and star running back Le’Veon Bell. Will that keep the Steelers hot in the offense? Probably. But I just don’t see it being enough for Pittsburgh to “blow out” a strong opponent such as Dallas by as many as 8 points. Jerry Jones’ boys are just as talented as Pittsburgh in the offense, with Tony Romo boasting of stellar offensive targets such as Dez Bryant, standout 2015 RB Darren McFadden and highly-touted rookie RB Ezekiel Elliot. Meanwhile, the Cowboys defense has been solid for as long as I can remember. So, even if Pittsburgh will manage to win this game, I’d expect the Cowboys to hang tough until the end, allowing them to cover the game’s bloated spread. FYI, Dallas is interestingly 6-3 in the last 9 overall meetings against Pittsburgh, including a 27-24 OT win when the two teams last met in 2012.
