In Depth Analysis On The Top NFL Free Picks Trio Of Week 1 Matchups
Detroit at Indianapolis
When: September 11, 2016, 04:25
Where: Lucas Oil Stadium
NFL Odds: Indianapolis -4 / Total: 50.5
Analysis: I don’t think there’s going to be much defense being played in this contest, making the over 50.5 total points the way to go in this matchup. As for as my ATS pick for this contest, I like the Indianapolis Colts to get the narrow win and NFL betting line cover at home. The Lions closed out the 2015 regular season on a big run 6-2 ATS run over their final eight games, but Indianapolis went 6-3 ATS in its last nine games while winning 15 of their last 21 home games outright.
It’s going to be a shootout, but the Colts win and cover!
My Pick: Over 50.5 Total Points/ Indianapolis -4 Points
New England at Arizona
When: September 11, 2016, 08:30
Where: University of Phoenix Stadium
NFL Odds: Arizona -5.5 / Total: 47.5
Analysis: The New England Patriots have gone 3-6-1 ATS in their last 10 games and surprising 1-4 SU in their last five road games. While the Cardinals haven’t been much better in going 2-4 ATS in their last six games and 1-5 ATS in their last six matchups against the Patriots, I think the loss of Tom Brady and upgrades to Arizona’s defense, makes Arizona the easy pick to win and cash in against New England in this regular season opener.
Arizona has won five of their last six home games and will make it another by bringing home the bacon in this affair!
My Pick: Arizona 27 New England 17
Oakland Raiders at New Orleans Saints
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Mercedes-Benz Superdome)
NFL Line: New Orleans Saints -1 / Over/Under: 51
Analysis: With the Saints playing at home, I like New Orleans to get the outright win over the young Oakland Raiders to narrowly cover the NFL betting line as a 1-point home favorite. I know New Orleans has gone 1-4 ATS in their last five Week 1 games, but the Saints are also 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and a blistering 7-1 TS in their last eight games against Oakland.
The Raiders have lost 20 of their last 25 road games and simply hasn’t looked very competent on defense this preseason. In addition to backing the Saints to get the SU win and ATS cover, I think the best bet for this Week 1 opener is a play for the Over 51 total points. Not only has the Over gone 5-0 in the Saints’ last five home games, but there simply won’t be much defense – if any – being played in this affair.
My Pick: Over 51 Total Points/ New Orleans -1 Point
