2023 NFL Week 6 SU Picks: With 5 weeks of the current NFL season in the books, I think it’s fair to suggest that a couple of teams have emerged as definite favorites to win the Super Bowl. | NFL Odds, American Football NFL Lines | MyBookie Sportsbook

There are a few more who are sitting just below those teams, but they have not yet done quite enough to convince us all that they have what it takes to win a championship. Things change very quickly in this league, though, so things might look very different a few weeks from now. If we have learned anything from past seasons, it’s that we shouldn’t get too high on any team based on what is still a relatively small sample of games. All we can do for now is look ahead to Week 6 and the games that are coming our way this weekend. That is what we are going to do now as we try to pick a few SU winners for the Week 6.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts

The picks that we are going to make here are on games that the bookies have down as being potentially close, as that is where the value lies. The Jaguars are coming off a statement win over the Buffalo Bills, but they are a team that has been wholly unpredictable to this point in the season, going 3-2 in the first 5 weeks. The Colts have the same record and are doing better than most people expected, but I think their bubble is about to burst. They have failed to cover the spread in each of their last 7 visits to Jacksonville, while the Jaguars have won 6 of their last 8 home games. I think the Jags win and cover quite comfortably in this one.

Chicago Bears over Minnesota Vikings

While the belief was that the Vikings would take a backward step this season, I don’t think anyone saw their decline being quite this bad. They are just 1-4 through the opening 5 weeks of the season, but they have developed a habit of losing close games. The Bears have been pretty poor to this point, but they are coming off a massive win in primetime, taking out the Washington Commanders 40-20 is the Thursday night game in Week 5. Will that win serve as the push they need to get their season back on track or is it nothing more than a minor blip on the radar? While I don’t see the Bears suddenly getting hot over the next month, I do think they win a close one against the Vikings.

Fresh off a Monday night win over the Packers, the 2-3 Las Vegas Raiders will hit the road in Week 6 to face a New England Patriots team that is in turmoil. The Patriots are just 1-4 on the season and have seen QB Mac Jones benched in each of the last 2 weeks. He remains the starting QB for now, but he is on a very short leash, and while it seems almost unthinkable given what he has done, you also have to say that Bill Belichick is now on the hot seat. I think that seat might be about to get warmer still, as I like the Raiders to go on the road and win a close one this weekend.
