Week 9 NFL Betting Lines, Preview & Expert ATS Picks

Written by on October 31, 2017

We have, on several occasions now, spoke about the parity that exists in the NFL this season. There appears to be a very fine line between playoff ready teams and those who are going to miss out, which means that we are not seeing very many blowouts on any given week. This has led to the bookies delivering NFL Betting Lines that are very tight indeed, although one of the picks that we are putting in this week’s selections is very much on the higher end of the point spread scale. While it has been tough to play ATS this season, there are usually a few games that jump right off the board when looking at the live NFL betting odds, so let’s see if we can’t pick out some winners against the spread for the Week 9 action.

Week 9 NFL Betting Lines, Preview & Expert ATS Picks

How to Bet Bills at Jets Week 9 NFL Spread, Analysis & Pick for TNF

Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts

  • When: Sunday, November 5, 1:00 PM
  • Where: NRG Stadium
  • NFL Betting Lines: Houston Texans – 13 (Over/Under at 49)
If you had asked the Texans brass about their intentions with rookie QB DeShaun Watson prior to the start of this season, you would have likely heard them tell you that they wanted to work him in gradually. Watson was forced into the deep end early, and he has learned to swim in NFL waters faster than anyone expected. He put on a stellar performance in a losing cause to the Seahawks over the weekend, and I think he will quite happily pick apart the Colts D this coming Sunday. I like the Texans to score early and often in this one.

Latest NFL Week 9 Betting Trends

  • Colts are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games on the road
  • Colts are 1-2-2 ATS in their last 5 games when playing Houston
  • Texans are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games
  • Texans are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games when playing Indianapolis at home

Los Angeles Rams vs. New York Giants

  • When: Sunday, November 5, 1:00 PM
  • Where: MetLife Stadium
  • NFL Betting Lines: Los Angeles Rams -3.5 (Over/Under 42)
The LA Rams are on the brink of a very good season, but they know that they need to keep picking up wins if they are to keep pace with the suddenly hot Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West. A match-up against the hapless New York Giants seems like a manageable task this weekend, although they are 0-7 SU and ATS in their last 7 meetings with the Giants. That is a trend that I believe will be bucked this coming weekend, as I like the Rams to come back from their bye week with a win by a TD or more.

Latest NFL Week 9 Betting Trends

  • Rams are 5-13-1 ATS in their last 19 games
  • Rams are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games on the road
  • Giants are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games at home
  • Giants are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games when playing LA Rams

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals

  • When: Sunday, November 5, 1:00 PM
  • Where: EverBank Field
  • NFL Betting Lines: Jacksonville Jaguars -4.5 (Over/Under 39.5)
You always felt that this was a make or break season for the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff, and give how things are going this season, it would not be a surprise to see things blown up in Cincy at the end of the season. The Bengals struggled to put away the Indianapolis Colts, arguably the worst team in the league, last weekend, and are going to have an even tougher time versus a very good, albeit inconsistent, Jacksonville Jaguars team. According to the NFL Betting Lines for Week 9, the Jaguars chance to beat Cincinnati is pretty good. I like the Jags to come out and take control early in this one on their way to a win and a cover.

Latest NFL Week 9 Betting Trends

  • Bengals are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on the road
  • Bengals are 3-5-1 ATS in their last 9 games when playing on the road against Jacksonville
  • Jaguars are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games
  • Jaguars are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games at home

Seattle Seahawks vs. Washington Redskins

  • When: Sunday, November 5, 4:05 PM
  • Where: CenturyLink Field
  • NFL Betting Lines: Seattle Seahawks -7.5 (Over/Under at 45)
The Seattle Seahawks are traditionally slow starters every year, but they always seem to find a way to right the ship in the second half. They appear to be well ahead of schedule this season, as they come into Week 9 on a 4-game winnings streak that has them tied with the Rams for the lead in the NFC West. The Redskins are in trouble, as they have now lost 3 of their last 4 games, and are well off the pace being set by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East. It doesn’t help that all the talk about this teams seems to be about where Kirk Cousins will land next season. I like the Seahawks to keep rolling with a double-digit win in this one.

Latest NFL Week 9 Betting Trends

  • Redskins are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games on the road
  • Redskins are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games when playing Seattle
  • Seahawks are 4-8 ATS in their last 12 games
