NHL Betting Parlay for the Weekend – November 10th
Columbus (8-6-1) at Washington (7-4-2)
- When: Friday, November 9, 2018, 7:00 PM ET
- Where: Capital One Arena, Washington, District of Columbia
Columbus got past Dallas 4-1 on Tuesday to snap a modest two-game losing streak and improve to 5-5 over their last 10 games overall.
The Blue Jackets got goals from four different players while veteran Artemi Panarin added to his team-leading points total with an assist. T.J. Oshie scored the go-ahead goal with just over a minute remaining in regulation in Wednesday night after suffering a pair of cheap shots in Wednesday’s 2-1 home win over the Penguins.
“My face is a little messed up but I’m feeling pretty good now,” said the 31-year-old Oshie.
PredictionWashington has won two straight and the Caps rank first in scoring (3.6 gpg). Unfortunately, they also rank an uninspiring 26t in goals allowed (3.5 gpg), so there’s that as well. Still, with T.J. Oshie and Alexander Ovechkin both scoring in consecutive games, the Caps are the easy pick to get past Columbus seeing as how the Blue Jackets are giving up more goals (3.5 gpg) than they are averaging (3.3 gpg).
Pick: Washington 5 – Columbus 3
Nashville (12-3) at Dallas (9-6-1)
- When: Saturday, November 10, 2018, 2:00 PM ET
- Where: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
Nashville has won four straight and eight of their last 10 games while scoring an identical four goals in three of their last four games including their 4-1 smackdown win over Columbus on Wednesday. Center Colton Sissons exploded for two first period goals en route to a hat trick while Ryan Hartman added Nashville’s final goal.
The Predators are ranked a stellar sixth in scoring (3.4 gpg) and league-leading first in goals allowed (2.1 gpg). Dallas snapped a two-game skid by getting past San Jose 4-3 on Thursday. Devin Shore scored two goals while Tyler Seguin and Gemel Smith added goals. Dallas is ranked an uninspiring 23rd in scoring (2.9 gpg), but encouraging eighth in scoring (2.7 gpg).
PredictionDallas has been playing some solid hockey, but let’s be honest. Nashville has been phenomenal. The Predators have not allowed more than one goal in each of their last four games while limiting the opposition to two goals or less six times in their last 10 games overall. Nashville has won five of the last six meetings against Dallas and really, the Predators are just too good for Dallas at both ends of the ice.
Pick: Nashville 5 – Dallas 2
NY Islanders (8-5-2) at Florida (4-5-3)
- When: Saturday, November 10, 2018, 7:00 PM ET
- Where: BB&T Center, Sunrise, Florida
The Islanders have lost two straight following an encouraging five-game winning streak. New York was on the wrong end of a narrow 4-2 road loss at Tampa Bay on Thursday night. Josh Bailey lit the lamp twice for the Isles, scoring in the first and final period, but the Lightning scored twice in the second and third periods to get the win.
Florida has won two straight to improve to 5-5 over their last 10 games. The Panthers come into this contest off a 4-1 win over Edmonton on Thursday night. Evgenii Dadonov lit the lamp in the second period and Nick Bjugstad put Florida up 2-0 before the period ended. Jonathan Huberdeau and Colton Sceviour finished off the scoring in the third period.
PredictionWith Florida averaging 3.0 goals per game and giving up 3.3 per contest, clearly, the Panthers are mediocre at best. The Islanders may not be elite, but they are closer to the top of the NHL power rankings than the bottom.
The Isles are averaging 3.0 goals per game and limiting the opposition to just 2.4 goals per game to rank a stellar third in goals allowed. Keep it simple. The Islanders are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record while the Panthers have gone 1-4 ATS in their last five home games. New York is better at both ends of the ice and they’ll get the two-goal win because of it.
Pick: Islanders 4 – Panthers 2
