Golden Knights Are NHL Betting Underdogs vs. Sharks in Game 4
Hockey is the fastest professional sport in the world, so it’s appropriate that the playoffs move quickly, too. We are already well into the second round, with the best teams in both conferences rising to the top. In the Western Conference, the Vegas Golden Knights were one of the biggest surprises this season. It’s not often that a team excels in their inaugural season, but that is what the Golden Knights did, and they are carrying that success over into the playoffs. They head into Game 4 of their series with the San Jose Sharks with a 2-1 lead, and with a win, they will have the opportunity to head back to Sin City with a chance to move on to the Western Conference Final, but that’s not enough to be considered the NHL betting favorites for tonight’s game.
The Sharks have already proven that they are not going to go down without a fight, heading back home with a split from their two games in Vegas. Game 4 could prove to be critical, and it may determine whether we are in for a long series or one that may be over in 5.

Why bet on the Vegas Golden Knights?
When the Vegas Golden Knights started putting a team together for their first season in the NHL, they made a great move by signing a goaltender with proven playoff experience. Marc Andre Fleury played a pivotal role in the success that the Pittsburgh Penguins achieved over the last few years, and he is bringing that experience to his new team. Fleury is leading the playoffs in save percentage and goals-against average.
When you consider that the Golden Knights have not been an offensive powerhouse in the postseason, you understand just how important it is to have a great goaltender between the pipes. If this run continues all the way to a Stanley Cup for the Golden Knights, look for Fleury to be the postseason MVP. Vegas stole back home-ice advantage with an OT win in Game 3, and they can put the Sharks on the brink of elimination with a win in this one.
Why bet on the San Jose Sharks?
A single loss can quickly switch the momentum in a playoff series, and that is what the Sharks are going to need to overcome after losing Game 3 in OT on home ice. San Jose had done the hard part by going to Vegas and getting the split on the road, seizing back home-ice advantage in the process. The loss in the last game handed that advantage right back to the Golden Knights.
The Sharks have proven to be a durable group already in this series, bouncing back to win Game 2 in OT after being pounded 7-0 in the series opener. The fact that 2 of the 3 games in this series have gone to extra periods tells you that there is little to choose from between these two. If the Sharks can get the win in this one, we could be going all the way to Game 7.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
I think we are going to have another close game here, and we may well be looking at another single goal winning margin. I like the Sharks to get this thing all evened up at home.
