Top NHL Games to Watch this Week (January 25th-30th)

Ottawa at Vancouver

  • When: Monday, January 25 at 10:00 PM ET

Ottawa (1-3-1) is sitting in last place in the seven-team North Division. The Senators are ranked 19th in scoring (2.8 gpg), but an awful 29th in goals allowed (4.0 gpg). Ottawa is 0-1 on the road and enters the new week riding a four-game losing streak.

Vancouver is in sixth place in the North Division (2-5-0) while ranking 21st in scoring (2.7 gpg) and dead last in goals allowed (4.7 gpg). The Canucks have gone 1-2 at home this season and hit the new week looking to shake off a two-game losing streak.

Vancouver has won four of the last five meetings in this series.

NY Islanders at Washington

  • When: Tuesday, January 26 at 7:00 PM ET

The Islanders are sixth in the East Division (3-2-0) while ranking 29th in scoring (2.3 gpg) but a fantastic third in goals allowed (1.5 gpg). New York lost to New Jersey 2-0 at home on Sunday to snap a two-game winning streak. The Isles are 1-1 on the road.

Washington is sitting atop the East Division standings (3-0-1) while ranking 20th in goals allowed (3.2 gpg), but an encouraging eighth in scoring (3.6 gpg). New York has won five of the last six meetings and dispatched Washington in last season’s playoffs.

Chicago at Nashville

  • When: Wednesday, January 27 at 7:30 PM ET

Chicago (2-3-1) is sitting in third place in the Central Division standings despite ranking just 23rd in scoring (2.6 gpg) and a dismal 31st in goals allowed (4.2 gpg). The Blackhawks managed to get past lowly Detroit 6-2 on Sunday. Nashville is in fifth place in the East standings (2-2) while ranking 26th in scoring (2.5 gpg) and 27th in goals allowed (3.5 gpg). Chicago has won two of the last three meetings.

St. Louis at Vegas

  • When: Thursday, January 28 at 7:00 PM ET

St. Louis (3-2-1) is fourth in the West Division standings following its embarrassing 6-3 home loss against Los Angeles on Sunday. The Blues are ranked 19th in scoring (2.8 gpg) and 28th in goals allowed (3.7 gpg). Vegas (4-1) is sitting atop the West Division standings while ranking seventh in scoring (3.6 gpg) and an equally impressive eighth in goals allowed (2.4 gpg). The Knights have dropped their only road game of the season by falling to Arizona 5-2 on Friday. The Golden Knights have won three straight in this series.

Columbus at Chicago

  • When: Friday, January 29 at 9:00 PM ET

Columbus (2-2-2) is second in the Central Division standings despite ranking 25th in scoring (2.5 gpg) and 18th in goals allowed (3.0 gpg). The Blue Jackets have gone 1-2-1 on the road and got past defending champion Tampa Bay 5-2 on Saturday. As previously mentioned, the Blackhawks (2-3-1) are third place in the Central Division standings despite ranking just 23rd in scoring (2.6 gpg) and a dismal 31st in goals allowed (4.2 gpg). Chicago got past lowly Detroit 6-2 on Sunday. The Blackhawks have won two straight and three of the last four meetings in this series.

Colorado at Minnesota

  • TV: ESPN+
  • When: Saturday, January 30 at 8:00 PM ET

Colorado (3-2-0) is fourth in the West standings while ranking seventh in scoring (3.4 gpg) and 10th in goals allowed (2.4 gpg). The Avs have won three of four including a 3-2 overtime win over Anaheim on Friday night. Minnesota (4-1) is second in the West standings while ranking 14th in scoring (3.0 gpg) and 10th in goals allowed (2.5 gpg).
