The opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs are in full swing, and a few teams have already shown that they are going to be very tough to beat, including a few of the NHL betting favorites to win it all. There are also a couple of surprises brewing as we speak. While the opening round series could still very well turn in any number of directions, we still think that this is a good time to look at the latest Stanley Cup odds. These prices are going to shift, and not necessarily in your favor, as the playoffs go on, so now may be the time to get your ticket in play. Let’s take a look at the updated Stanley Cup odds.

Updated NHL Stanley Cup Odds – April 16th Edition

Nashville Predators

  • Stanley Cup Odds: +250

The Predators are up 2-0 in their series versus the Colorado Avalanche, winning both home games to get things rolling. While they would love to head to Colorado and win the series there, they are probably going to be happy with a split. Heading back home with a 3-1 series lead could see this thing finish early.

The Predators have looked very solid in their opening two games, just as they did all season long, so it’s no real surprise that they are in as the Stanley Cup favorites.

Tampa Bay Lightning

  • Stanley Cup Odds: +300

The Lightning had what looked to be a tricky first-round series against the New Jersey Devils, as that is a team that they struggled against in the regular season. Tampa has proven that the playoffs are a different kettle of fish entirely, as they have dominated the Devils completely to start this series, heading off to New Jersey with a 2-0 lead. Tampa Bay is a team that can score in bunches, and they have certainly not slowed down in the postseason.

Boston Bruins

  • Stanley Cup Odds: +350

I really thought that the Bruins would be in for a tough 7-game series against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the opening round, but they have made it look easy thus far. The series may change now that it is shifting to Toronto for a pair of games, but you have to say that Boston looks like a good bet with their 2-0 series lead. They have scored 12 goals on the Leafs in the opening two games of the series, and if they can continue that sort of output on the road, their stock may start to rise even higher.

Vegas Golden Knights

  • Stanley Cup Odds: +500

I will admit that I had Vegas struggling in the playoffs, but they are certainly proving me wrong in the early going. The Golden Knights have adopted a tight, defensive style against the LA Kings, and it has worked to perfection thus far. Vegas has quickly built up a 3-0 series lead over the Kings, with each of the victories coming via a single goal winning margin. Vegas can close this thing out really quickly and get some rest before the second round, which should help their cause.

Winnipeg Jets

  • Stanley Cup Odds: +550

I took the Jets as my dark horse pick to win it all this season, as they are one of the most balanced teams in the NHL. The Jets are proving me right in the early going, winning both their home games before dropping Game 3 on the road in Minnesota to hold a 2-1 series lead. If the Jets can get the split by winning Game 4, they will be heading back home with a shot at closing the series out. I am still sticking with Winnipeg as my pick at a very nice price.
