The group stages are now done at the 2015 Gold Cup, and the quarter final match-ups are now set. There are a few surprises in there, as the results of the final round of the group games did not exactly go as expected. Let’s take a look at the quarter final soccer betting games, as well as some predictions for what we might be able expect:
Date: Saturday, July 18, 2015Time: 5 p.m. ETTV: Fox US, BT Sport Extra UKThe Americans could not possibly have asked for a better draw, as they will be playing a Cuba team that no-one expected to get anywhere near this stage of the tournament. The US made it through group play unbeaten, but did not look that great in doing so. They will be without Jozy Altidore for the rest of the tournament, as the striker was sent home due to fitness issues. The Cubans have had to deal with defections and visa issues, and only made it to this stage by beating Guatemala in the final game of their group. They look to be on the end of a beating in this one, as I like the US to win 5-0.
Date: Saturday, July 18, 2015Time: 8 p.m. ETTV: Fox US, BT Sport Extra UKThis game has the chance to be the best tie in the quarter finals. Both of these teams like to play an attacking style of football, so don’t be surprised if we get to see some goals in this one. Jamaica are likely to be the favorites in this one, and I think they will do enough to stop a Haiti team that has done better than expected. I’m taking Jamaica to win 2-1.
Date: Saturday, July 19, 2015Time: 4.30 p.m. ETTV: Fox US, BT Sport Extra UKPanama made it all the way to the final a couple of years back, but they have looked less than impressive this time around, making it to this stage of the tournament on the back of three consecutive draws. Trinidad are coming off the best game of the tournament so far, a 4-4 tie with Mexico. Trinidad have been banging in the goals left, right, and center, and I believe there is more to come, as I like them to win this one 3-1.
Date: Saturday, July 19, 2015Time: 7.30 p.m. ETTV: Fox US, BT Sport Extra UKSome disappointing results in the group stage means that these two teams, both of whom were considered favorites coming in, are going to meet earlier than expected. Costa Rica have been particularly disappointing, as have Mexico, even though El Tri made it through group play with 10 goals to their credit. I expect a close one here, with a 1-0 win for Mexico my prediction. Sources:FoxSports.com: http://www.foxsports.com/soccer/michael-arantes-player-stats
