UEFA Champions League Betting Analysis: Best Round of 16 Games to Wager On

One of the best from LaLiga and one of the best from Italian Serie A throw down on Wednesday when 2022 Serie A champ Napoli heads to Santiago Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid. Real is the big time moneyline and handicap chalk.

Will Napoli prove best? Also on Wednesday, Man U battles Galatasaray on the road and Bayern welcomes Copenhagen.

Check out UEFA Champions League lines, analysis, and free picks for all eight of Wednesday’s games.

2023–24 UEFA Champions League | 69th season of Europe’s premier club football tournament
Matchday 5 Leg 2: Wednesday, November 29th, 2023

Galatasaray vs Manchester United

UCL Odds: Galatasaray +165; Manchester United +150
Wednesday, November 29th at 12:45 pm ET
Rams Global Stadium, Istanbul, Turkey

Bayern is running away with the weakest group in this season’s Champions League. The Bundesliga power has 12 points, Copenhagen shows 4, Galatasaray has 4, and Man United has 3.

So with Bayern at the top spot, this match becomes incredibly important. The team from Munich should dominate Copenhagen on Wednesday, which means the winner of this match will float into second place.

The fact Galatasaray is just a +15 home dog more than the Red Devils speaks volumes. So does the fact that United fell in the first leg 3-2, a match that happened at Old Trafford, against Galatasaray.

The home team will be more motivated than a Red Devils side with zero leaders. The home underdog prevails.

Sevilla vs PSV Eindhoven

UCL Odds: Sevilla +175; PSV Eindhoven +145
Wednesday, November 29th at 12:45 pm ET
Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, Sevilla, Spain

Sevilla is a solid +175 underdog to get by PSV Eindhoven on their pitch. The LaLiga team has all the makings of an upset waiting to happen. Although Sevilla is 0-2-2 in Champions League play, their last couple of overall losses were versus Sociedad, a Champions League squad but in a LaLiga match, and Arsenal on the road.

However, even though Sevilla will give it their all, PSV Eindhoven is on fire. The Dutch Eredivisie squad has 5 points, tied with Lens. PSV knows what’s at stake. Back the road team to cash.

Arsenal vs Lens

UCL Odds: Arsenal -1.5 +110; Lens +1.5 -130
Wednesday, November 29th at 3:00 pm ET
Emirates Stadium, London, England

Arsenal mustn’t cover the handicap spread line in this match. But Arsenal is the type of squad that wants to show they have what it takes to not only win the Champions League this season but also the English Premier League.

Lens is on a 2-match winning streak, but we mustn’t kid ourselves. The Gunners three match winning streak came against much better teams than Clermont Foot and Marseille, the 2 squads Lens beat. Arsenal covers.

Champions League Matchday 5 Pick: Arsenal -1.5 | Bet Arsenal vs Lens Today

Bayern Munich vs FC Copenhagen

UCL Odds: Bayern Munich -1.5 -160; FC Copenhagen +1.5 +135
Wednesday, November 29th at 3:00 pm ET
Allianz Arena, München, Germany

Danish Superliga squad FC Copenhagen should be in some trouble. Copenhagen beat Man United 4-3 in their last Champions League match, but the Red Devils are a disaster.

After besting Man U, Copenhagen drew 0-0 in a match versus Brondy and lost 2-1 to rival Viborg. Both matches weren’t close to being good enough to stick with Bayern.

Although Munich offers a -160 payout for the right to lay -1.5, the Bundesliga squad gets the nod.

Champions League Matchday 5 Pick: Bayern Munich -1.5 | Bet Bayern Munich vs FC Copenhagen Today

Benfica vs Internazionale

UCL Odds: Benfica +155; Internazionale +180
Wednesday, November 29th at 3:00 pm ET
Estádio da Luz, Lisbon, Portugal

In their group, Inter shows 10 points while Benfica has 0. Sociedad also has 10 points. The third place team, FC Salzburg, has 3 points.

No doubt, Internazionale will make it to the knockout stage. Benfica won’t, which means although Inter can and should win this, there’s a chance coach Simone Inzaghi rests his starters. This is especially true because in their last Inter battled a tough Juve team to a 0-0 draw.

Champions League Matchday 5 Pick: Benfica | Bet Benfica vs Internazionale Today

Real Sociedad vs FC Salzburg

UCL Odds: Real Sociedad -1.5 +130; FC Salzburg +1.5 -150
Wednesday, November 29th at 3:00 pm ET
Reale Arena, San Sebastián, Spain

Sociedad has no reason to dominate Salzburg. However, this happens on Sociedad’s pitch at Reale Arena in San Sebastian. The home team will want to impress their fans.

Not only that, but Sociedad is on fire after winning 4-of-5 and 3 straight. The La Liga team will be looking to notch a multiple goal score victory. Back the home team to cover.

Champions League Matchday 5 Pick: Real Sociedad -1.5 | Bet Real Sociedad vs FC Salzburg Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Games

Braga vs FC Union Berlin

UCL Odds: Braga +110; FC Union Berlin +240
Wednesday, November 29th at 3:00 pm ET
Estádio Municipal de Braga, Braga, Portugal

Berlin does have a point in their group. Braga has 3 points. Neither squad has much of a shot of besting Real Madrid or Napoli and moving to the knockout stage, which is why the favorite is the play.

Berlin has lost 3-of-5 with 2 draws. Braga has won 3-of-4. Braga’s lone loss in the last 5 came in a Champions League match against Real at Santiago Bernabeau. Berlin should lose this by more than a goal, which means Braga is an overlay at the +110 payout.

Champions League Matchday 5 Pick: Braga | Bet Braga vs FC Union Berlin Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Games

Real Madrid vs Napoli

UCL Odds: Real Madrid -125; Napoli +300
Wednesday, November 29th at 3:00 pm ET
Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid, Spain

In the days most intriguing matchup, soccer fans may be left unfulfilled. Real Madrid has 12 points in the group. So Carlo Ancelotti’s squad mustn’t win this match.

Napoli shows 7 points. A Napoli victory would ensure they move to the next round. But if Braga wins, and the Portuguese Liga squad should best Union Berlin, and Napoli loses, the Serie A team could be in danger of missing out on a knockout stage appearance.

So Napoli will play hard in this. Ah, but the Napoleons aren’t as good as Real. Backing the draw makes sense.

2023 UEFA Champions League Betting Odds: Round of 16 Playoffs Predictions

Previous Betting News

Champions League second leg Round of 16 matches start next Tuesday, March 7, and next Wednesday, March 8. Then the following week, the final eight teams in the Round of 16 play on Tuesday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 15.

See below for updates for every second leg match in the knockout stage along with current Champions League odds.

UEFA Champions League Rundown Round of 16 Betting Odds, Analysis and Prediction

Champions League Round of 16: Second Leg Matches: March 7 – March 15

Benfica -217 vs. Club Brugge +580

When: Tuesday, March 7 at 3:00 pm ET
Where: Estádio da Luz, Lisbon, Portugal

Benfica went to Belgium in the first leg and dusted Club Brugge 2-0. The Portuguese Liga squad looks like a lock to make it to the quarterfinals.

Brugge just isn’t as good as Benfica. So we shouldn’t expect much from the road team in this.

Bet Benfica vs. Club Brugge Today

Chelsea -119 vs. Dortmund +320

When: Tuesday, March 7 at 3:00 pm ET
Where: Stamford Bridge, London, England

Dortmund leads 1-0 on the aggregate. The Blues haven’t played great soccer in recent games. So pay attention to Chelsea’s Saturday match versus Leeds.

If the Blues turn around their form, they could beat Dortmund. But if they struggle against Leeds, Chelsea will step onto the Stamford Bridge pitch an underlay.

Bayern Munich -120 vs. Paris Saint-Germain +280

When: Wednesday, March 8 at 3:00 pm ET
Where: Allianz Arena, München, Germany

PSG is on a 2-match winning streak heading into the weekend. So it appears Paris will step onto the grass in Munich in much better form than in the first leg.

Bayern, though, will be tough to beat. Munich is up 1-0 on the aggregate and is playing lights out. Bayern will want to close the door early. We should see an aggressive Munich side.

Tottenham Hotspur -101 vs. AC Milan +270

When: Wednesday, March 8 at 3:00 pm ET
Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, England

AC Milan heads to London with a 1-0 aggregate lead. Like Chelsea, Tottenham hasn’t played at the top of their form cycle.

The Hotspur are a talented bunch. So if Tottenham shows something versus Wolverhampton over the weekend, consider them a live favorite versus their Serie A rivals.

FC Porto +165 vs. Inter Milano +157

When: Tuesday, March 14 at 3:00 pm ET
Where: Estádio do Dragão, Porto, Portugal

Although Inter has a 1-0 lead, the Serie A team should be in desperation mode because FC Porto has a history of coming up big in the Champions League.

Inter often fails at this stage. The match takes place in Portugal, which makes Porto, at least for now, an overlay at the odds.

Bet Porto vs. Inter Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Manchester City -229 vs. RB Leipzig +550

When: Tuesday, March 14 at 3:00 pm ET
Where: Etihad Stadium, Manchester, England

City and Leipzig drew 1-1 in the first leg. Manchester City has since looked great blasting Bournemouth and Bristol City.

Leipzig is also in good form. Wait to see how each team performs in their next couple of matches before pulling the trigger on either.

Bet Manchester City vs. RB Leipzig Today

Napoli -186  vs. Eintracht Frankfurt +480

When: Wednesday, March 15 at 3:00 pm ET
Where: Diego Armando Maradona, Napoli, Italy

Unless Napoli falls apart, the Serie A team should have the aggregate in the bag. Napoli beat Frankfurt 2-0 in the first leg and that match happened in Germany.

Napoli continues to shine as one of this season’s top UEFA club teams. The -186 odds are more than fair.

Real Madrid +105 vs. Liverpool +220

When: Wednesday, March 15 at 3:00 pm ET
Where: Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid, Spain

In Thursday’s 1-0 Copa del Rey loss to rival Barcelona, Real looked terrible. El Blanco could get nothing going.

However, Real has a massive 3-goal lead on the aggregate versus Liverpool. The Reds bombed big time in the first leg, falling 5-2. Carlo Ancelotti’s team rocks at the Champions League. So we should expect Real to come out playing great soccer even though they’ve got a huge lead.

Previous Betting News

Champions League Round of 16 odds for first leg matches are set. AC Milan is the +146 chalk to take down Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain is a +147 favorite versus Bayern and 2021 winner Real Madrid is an underdog in their first match versus Napoli.

Keep reading for Champions League odds and a preview of the Round of 16.

Champions League Round of 16 Odds to Advance to Quarterfinals

First Leg: Feb. 14 – Feb. 15 & Feb. 21 – Feb. 22

Second Leg: March 7 – March 8 & March 14 – March 15

First Leg Match Odds

AC Milan +146 vs. Tottenham +185

Tuesday, February 14th | Giuseppe Meazza, Milan, Italy
Milan has lost four straight heading into their Feb. 10 match versus Torino. Keep that in mind as you handicap this game.

Paris Saint-Germain +147 vs. Bayern Munich +156

Tuesday, February 14th | Parc des Princes, Paris, France
Without doing a deep dive, we’ll post a picks blog next week, the draw is enticing. PSG didn’t play well in the CL last season and although they’ve got a lot of stars, Bayern player Sadio Mane may step onto the pitch for this.

Borussia Dortmund +149 vs. Chelsea +172

Wednesday, February 15th | Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, Germany
Chelsea is a solid club. However, Dortmund gets the Blues on their pitch. Not only that, but the Bundesliga team blasted Freiburg 5-1 on Feb. 4. So Dortmund is in great form.

Club Brugge +265 vs. Benfica -102

Wednesday, February 15th | Jan Breydelstadion, Bruges, Belgium
Brugge is a good team in their league. But the home dog doesn’t appear to have much shot versus a squad the quality of Benfica. Porto often makes it to the quarterfinals and Benfica has an 8-point lead over Porto in the Portuguese Liga.

Second Leg Match Odds

Eintracht Frankfurt +186 vs. Napoli +135

Tuesday, February 21st | Deutsche Bank Park, Frankfurt, Germany
Napoli continues to dominate. On Jan. 13, Napoli dusted Juventus 5-1. In their latest on Feb. 5, Napoli beat Spezia 3-0.

Liverpool +125 vs. Real Madrid +196

Tuesday, February 21st | Anfield, Liverpool, Milan, Italy
As of Feb. 7, the Reds are 8-5-7-1 in the English Premier League. Because Pool is playing so poorly in the EPL, there’s a good chance they concentrate on the Champions League. El Blanco is the defending champs. So Liverpool isn’t a lock in the first leg.

Inter Milano -121 vs. FC Porto +320

Wednesday, February 22nd | Giuseppe Meazza, Liverpool, England
Inter is playing well. But before jumping on the home squad in the first leg, for sure check out Porto’s form. Yes, a lot can happen from now until Feb. 22.

However on Feb. 5, Porto won their fifth straight. So if the Liga squad maintains their excellent form leading into this, they for sure can pull off the upset win. Also, Porto always seems to step it up in Champions League matches.

RB Leipzig +320 vs. Manchester City -129

Wednesday, February 22nd | Red Bull Arena, Leipzig, Germany
Don’t decide which team to back until the week of. The problem with betting this early  is by doing so, you could end up on the wrong side.

The Sky Blues fell to Tottenham on Feb. 5. We know how talented Man City is, though. Also, Erling Haaland could step it up in this because he’s played against Leipzig before. On the flip side, Leipzig gets City on their grass. This is a wait for the right moment to bet match.

2022-23 UEFA Champions League Round of 16: Matchups Rundown

2022-23 UEFA Champions League Round of 16: Matchups Rundown

After a brief interlude called the 2022 Qatar World Cup, soccer clubs go back at it in their quest for the 2022-2023 Champions League Trophy. Recently, UEFA drew for Round of 16 knockout stage matchups. First leg contests happen in February. In March, teams play the second leg of their aggregates. Check out a matchup rundown of this season’s eight quarter-finals UCL matchups so you can get ready to bet against their UEFA Champions League Odds

UEFA Champions League – Round of 16

February, 14-15 & 21-22 – March 7-8 & 14-15

Best Matchup: Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern Munich

There’s a debate that Liverpool versus Real Madrid will be a better aggregate but Pool has struggled at times and Real, even though they’re the defending champions, hasn’t impressed as much as Bayern.

Paris Saint-Germain is loaded. Mbappe may want out, but he’s not playing like he does. Messi has found his role and the rest of the players follow Mbappe’s and Messi’s lead.

Bayern has slowly returned to dominance. Sadio Mane has become copasetic with his mates. Thomas Muller, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sane and the rest are the reasons Bayern is the chalk over PSG.

Second Best Matchup: Liverpool vs Real Madrid

The good news if you’re a Liverpool fan is that the team appears to have turned around their form. Pool struggled earlier in the season.

But since a 1-2 loss to Leeds on Oct. 29, Liverpool has played great soccer. The Reds beat then scorching Napoli 2-0, rival Tottenham 2-1, and Southampton 3-1 in their Nov. 12 Premier League match.

But as well as Pool is playing, the Reds will struggle to get by the greatest team in Champions League history. Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is as talented as they were last season when they beat the Reds in the title contest.

El Blanco should win the aggregate. Liverpool must play even better than they have been to have any shot.

Third Best Matchup: Dortmund vs Chelsea

Neither team is dominating. Chelsea entered their latest Premier match an underdog against Newcastle. The oddsmakers had it right because the Blues lost.

Gladbach beat Dortmund 4-2 in the German Bundesliga team’s last. Neither the Blues nor Dortmund should win the Champions League.

But that doesn’t mean this won’t be a great, competitive, awesome matchup. These two are similar in a lot of ways, which means we should expect excellent soccer.

Best of the Rest

AC Milan vs Tottenham Hotspur

Milan versus Tottenham has the same drama as Dortmund against Chelsea. Tottenham will have the edge, but at times, the Hotspur play well below their talent level.

RB Leipzig vs Manchester City

Leipzig has played great soccer. However, RBL’s victories have happened against Bundesliga opponents. The win against Real doesn’t matter much because El Blanco had already secured a knockout stage victory.

Heading into the World Cup hiatus, Manchester City is 5 points behind Arsenal for first place in the Premier. It took some time for Erline Haaland and his mates to get on the same page. But now that everyone is playing together, the Sky Blues should rock Leipzig.

Inter Milan vs Porto

Neither team has the talent to win the Champions League. One thing to note about this matchup is that Porto, historically, has had some surprise runs. Inter often bombs at this stage.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Napoli

Frankfurt, the 2021 Europa League winner, is up against it versus strong Napoli. Napoli had won 13 straight before losing to Liverpool in their last group stage Champions League match. The Serie A squad has the talent to win the CL trophy.

Clube Brugge vs Benfica

Club Brugge is happy to have moved to the knockout stage. Benfica should dominate. But once Benfica makes it to the final eight, things should get tougher.

2021 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 Expert Analysis

Previous Betting News

On Tuesday, Barcelona hosts Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig takes on Liverpool in the first of two matches in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. Barca, as to be expected, is a less than even money favorite against PSG. Leipzig is a slight underdog versus the Reds. Will the home teams protect their pitch in the first match of the two-leg aggregate? Or will the road teams come up big? Let’s find out so you can bet against their Champions League odds.

UEFA Champions League: Barca Takes On PSG and Leipzig Battles Pool

  • When: Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 3:00 pm ET

Paris Saint-Germain +220 Vs Barcelona -101 | UEFA Champions League Round of 16

Barcelona’s offense has been unstoppable. The home squad scored 5 goals in a 5-1 victory over Alaves on Feb. 13. Lionel Messi signed the richest contract in sports history to stay with Barcelona. No doubt, Messi wants to show the contract is justified. Taking a big lead over PSG in the goal aggregate is one way to do that.

To their credit Paris Saint-Germain has also played well. The top team in French Ligue 1 is on a 4-match winning streak. Granted, they didn’t play a single team on the level of Barcelona. But they did play well enough to get the 4 victories. Almost as important? PSG held their opponents to a combined 1 goal.

Neymar and his mates don’t give up a ton of goals. Paris could pull off a shocker and beat Barcelona straight up. More than likely, they hang back, prevent Barca from scoring a goal and then try for a 1-0 aggregate victory when they get Messi and his crew at home.

Champions League Pick: Draw

Liverpool +122 Vs RB Leipzig +195 | UEFA Champions League Round of 16

RB Leipzig isn’t the best squad in the Bundesliga. They have played well, though, winning 4-of-5. But before getting too excited about Leipzig’s chances against Pool, the one loss was as ugly as it gets. Mainz has 14 points on the Bundesliga Standings. Yet, somehow, they pulled off the shocker and beat RBL.

Based on the loss to Mainz, Leipzig has no chance against a quality squad like Liverpool. Ah, but the 2021 Reds aren’t the same as the 2020 Reds. For some reason, Liverpool has become a disaster of a soccer team.

Pool heads into this off 3 straight losses. We can forgive the 1-4 defeat against Manchester City. The Sky Blues are playing like the best club team on the planet, yes, even better than Bayern. But we can’t forgive losing 1-3 defeat against Leicester or losing 0-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Liverpool could surprise. Our prediction? The Reds lose their fourth straight. Leipzig is a quality Bundesliga squad and Pool has struggled against worst teams in recent games.

Champions League Pick: RB Leipzig

Updated UEFA Champions League Round of 16 (Feb. 16 – Feb. 17)

Tuesday, Feb. 16th Matches

Paris Saint-Germain +167 / Barcelona +125

Both these squads are in excellent form. The one difference, and one of the reasons Barca is favored in this match, is Lorient beat PSG 3-2 on Jan. 31. Paris isn’t in as good of form as Barcelona.

Also, Barcelona gets Paris Saint-Germain on their pitch. We have to go back to the Supercopa finals to find Barcelona’s last loss. Barca turned the tables on Bilbao in a 2-1 win a couple of matches back.

But Paris Saint-Germain has a real shot of beating Barcelona. PSG is almost always a Champions League Final Four squad. Not only that but Paris could be in better form than Barcelona by the time they kick it off on Feb. 16. Baca should be the favorite. The odds push us to PSG.

Champions League Pick: Paris Saint-Germain

Liverpool -106 / RB Leipzig +231

For some reason, Liverpool is playing like a middle of the road English Premier League squad. On February 3, Pool lost their third match in their last 5. This time, Bright & Hove Albion handed the Reds a defeat.

Liverpool could turn their form around before this match happens next week. However, the chance of that occurring aren’t great. More importantly? Leipzig is in terrific form. RB has won 3 in a row, outscoring Leverkusen, VfL Bochun, and Schalke 04 a combined 7-0.

It’s not as hard going against Liverpool in 2021 as it was in 2020. On their home pitch, Leipzig is the play.

Champions League Pick: RB Leipzig

Wednesday, Feb. 17th Matches

Juventus -107 / Porto +279

Juventus is playing too well to fall to Porto next week. Porto is a very good soccer team. They’re not as hot as Juvy, though. Ronaldo and Ibanez both had goals in a 2-0 win against AS Roma on Feb. 6.

With the win, Juventus notched their fifth straight. We must go back to January 17 to find Juvy’s last loss, 0-2 on the road versus Inter Milano. Unless Porto steps it up big time and Ronaldo and his mates aren’t at their best, Juventus should take the first in the aggregate.

Champions League Pick: Juventus

Dortmund +175 / Sevilla +134

Dortmund versus Sevilla should be one of the most exciting matchups in the Champions League Round of 16. On paper, these two appear even.

Unless Dortmund turns their form around, though, they’ll have a tough time playing for a draw or beating Sevilla on the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium pitch. Sevilla has won 5 straight while Dortmund has lost 3-of-5. Sevilla could implode, but if they don’t, they figure to take at least a 1-goal lead in the aggregate.

Champions League Pick: Sevilla

UCL After Round of 16 Updated Odds: Man City Favored Over Bayern Munich

2020-2021 UEFA Champions League Final

  • When: Saturday, May 29
  • Where: Ataturk Stadium, Istanbul, Turkey

What two teams among the Sky Blues, Bayern, Paris Saint-Germain, and Pool are the best plays to win the Champions League?

Bayern and Man City are on the same level. The Sky Blues have played unbelievable soccer in the past couple of months. But Bayern has also dominated.

Because they’re on the same level, Bayern deserves a much longer look than Manchester City. The odds difference assumes the team from Munich is slightly worse than the Premier League squad. That’s not true.

Give Bayern the nod over the Sky Blues if you’re looking to play one of the top two chalks. If you are deciding between backing PSG and Pool, you must lean St. Germain’s way.

Liverpool dominated RB Leipzig in their two matches. But outside of beating Leipzig, Pool’s form leaves a lot to be desired. So unless you think losing to teams like Fulham sets up the Reds for a UCL upset, Paris Saint-Germain is the much better play.

Assess the Blues, Real’s and Dortmund’s chances of winning the UCL?

Chelsea has played like the second best squad in the English Premier. The Blues beat Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their aggregate.

They beat Liverpool 1-0 on March 4. Chelsea beat Everton 2-0 on March 8. We must go all the way back to January 19 to find the Blues last loss.

Chelsea has a solid chance to win the Champions League. Real Madrid has also played well, but we must question the form from the La Liga Spanish Primera Division teams.

Dortmund has a shot. They must hope they don’t end up playing Bayern. If they face Bayern either in the semifinals or championship, they’re toast. Bayern has Dortmund’s number.

Among the underdogs, which has the best chance of upsetting the favorites?

Chelsea should knockout Atletico Madrid. Man City will end Gladbach’s dream, and Bayern will send Lazio home.

That leaves Porto as having the best chance to upset the favorites. The Portuguese League squad bested Ronaldo and Juventus in the Round of 16.

Porto moved to the Champions League elite eight. So if you’re looking to back a major underdog, go with Porto.

Previous Betting News

The UEFA Champions League Round of 16 doesn’t start until mid-February. That doesn’t mean we should take an early look at Round of 16 odds. Because participating teams also play in their respective leagues, there’s no shortage of information for us to analyze and make picks before February 1. With that in mind, let’s jump right into action so you can plan your bets and place them against their Champions League odds.

Early Round of 16 Analysis of the UEFA Champions League Odds

Round of 16 – UEFA Champions League

  • When: Feb. 16 – 17 and Feb. 23 – 24

Tuesday, February 16th Matches

Paris St. Germain +159 / Barcelona +133

PSG is in a battle with Lille for the French Ligue 1 title. That’s not a good sign for Paris St. Germain heading into a match with Barcelona, right? Then again, Athletic Bilbao beat Barcelona 3-2 in the Spanish Super Cup. Right now, we must grab the terrific odds on Paris even though Messi and his mates play on their pitch.

Champions League Free Pick: Paris St. Germain

Liverpool +110 / RB Leipzig +197

This one is a no-brainer. Liverpool could rediscover the form that made them one of the most feared club teams on the planet before February 16. Or they could continue to languish behind mediocre play. As of January 20, Pool hasn’t scored a goal in their last 3 EPL matches. Leipzig is in second place in the Bundesliga, 4 points behind Bayern Munich. At home RB is the play unless Liverpool starts dominating opponents.

Champions League Free Pick: RB Leipzig

Wednesday, February 17th Matches

Juventus -111 / Porto +268

Porto is a good soccer team. But, really, they got a lucky draw landing in Manchester City’s group. Man City was a lock to win Group C. Porto was the best team among the other three. Juventus struggled in an 0-2 loss against Inter Milan in their last Serie A match. Because Porto plays at home, this could end in a draw.

Champions League Free Pick: Draw

Dortmund +174 / Sevilla +136

One of the best from the Bundesliga battles one of the top teams in La Liga. Sevilla is much better than many give them credit for being. Dortmund is also a strong squad. Neither team is in great form. Dortmund has played worse, though. They lost straight up to Leverkusen in their last and before that they drew with German League doormat Mainz. Sevilla should win.

Champions League Free Pick: Sevilla

Chelsea +211 / Atletico Madrid +125

The top team on the La Liga Standings, Atletico offers overlay odds at +125 to beat Chelsea at home. The Blues have fallen to seventh place on the English Premier League Standings. In their last four EPL matches, Chelsea drew with Aston Villa, barely beat Fulham 1-0, and lost 1-3 against Man City and 0-2 versus Leicester. AM should roll.

Champions League Free Pick: Atletico Madrid

Bayern Munich -185 / Lazio +373

Lazio is a decent team. They’re not good enough to beat Bayern, though. Still, the best team in the world has shown signs of wear and tear. Don’t get us wrong, they’re not losing matches. But they’re not winning by 2 and 3 goals like they used to. On the road versus a solid Serie A squad, Bayern could end up in a draw.

Champions League Free Pick: Draw

Wednesday, February 24th Matches

Real Madrid +110 / Atalanta +190

Real hasn’t played well. They could turn things around if they fix some things during the transfer window. If they don’t, Atalanta is an overlay at +190. Since we’re making picks today, before Real has made themselves better, we’re going with Atalanta.

Champions League Free Pick: Atalanta

Manchester City -188 / Monchengladbach +392

The odds on the Sky Blues make them an underlay. No doubt, they could beat the home team, but at -188 they’re a play against. Monchengladbach upset Bayern 3-2 about a week ago. They drew with Stuttgart in the follow up and then beat Werder Bremen in their last. The only thing that should happen from now until February 24 is the odds on Gladbach falling. So, if you’re like us, back the home team at the overlay odds as soon as possible.

Champions League Free Pick: Monchengladbach
