One of the great things about the Champions League, besides getting to see the best club teams in Europe go head to head, is that fortunes can change dramatically over the course of the two legs in the knockout stages. We are now in the Round of 16 and have already seemed some amazing results, with Ajax stunning the reigning champions and Manchester United doing the impossible to knock out PSG. The great news for fans is that we still have some games to play in this round, with 4 spots still open in the quarter-finals.
Those positions will all be filled by end of play on Wednesday, with one of those ties hanging very much in the balance. Liverpool made it all the way to the final last season, but they will have their work cut out to move on this time around, as they head to Munich with a 0-0 tie with Bayern in the first leg. The edge here would go to Bayern Munich at home, but a single goal for Liverpool could change that in a heartbeat. It is the home team who are favored by ½, with the O/U set at 2 ½.

Why bet on Bayern Munich?
Bayern Munich had what can best be described as a rather comfortable journey through the group stages, led in large part by Robert Lewandowski and the 8 goals he hammered in through those 6 games. That offense was kept quiet in the first leg in Liverpool, but Munich will still be delighted at coming away with that 0-0 tie.
They are now in total control at home, and when you consider that they are coming off a 6-0 win over Wolfsburg in their last Bundesliga outing, you need to like their chances of getting the win they need in this one. Defensively, Bayern Munich has been pretty solid at home, giving up just 12 goals in 12 games in the Bundesliga, while also scoring 29 during that same stretch.

Why bet on Liverpool?
It has been a fabulous season thus far for Liverpool, but there are some signs that the pressure might just be starting to get to them. They have dropped a lot of points in the EPL of late and have now given up the lead to Manchester City. Their fearsome forward line has been misfiring a little, too, which was part of the reason why they were unable to get anything past Bayern Munich in the home leg.
They now need to come out and get a goal in Munich, and while the offense has been struggling, you always have a shot when you have Salah, Mane, and Firmino as attacking options. Liverpool has been in decent road form in the league, going 9-5-1 while scoring 24 and conceding just 8. A draw will do it for them here as long as they snatch that away goal.
- 32-J. Matip

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction Bayern Munich vs Liverpool
I see this as being a bit of a nervy affair in the early going, as neither team will want to get behind early. Both teams have firepower, but I think we are in for a low-scoring game here, with Liverpool getting the goal they need to move on.
Score: Bayern Munich 1 – Liverpool 1
