UEFA Champions League Odds: Atletico Madrid At Bayern Munich
The Champions League is undeniably the biggest club tournaments in the world, and this season’s event is starting to come down to the wire. This coming midweek will see the final games played in the group stages before we launch into the Round of 16 in the New Year. As you might expect from a tournament of this type of quality, there are some excellent match-ups ahead of us this week. Perhaps the most glamorous of the bunch sees last year’s runners-up Atletico Madrid head to Germany to take on perennial giant Bayern Munich. This would be a much more mouth-watering tie if it were not for the fact that Group D has already been decided. Madrid cannot be caught at the top of the group, and both teams will be going into the pot when the draw for the next round is made. These are two teams with a rich history, though, and both will want to make their mark in this one, as there is always the possibility that they could meet again later in the tournament.

Why bet on the Atletico Madrid
Madrid have been magnificent in this tournament, and are sitting atop the Group D standings with a perfect record so far. This is not a team that is going to overpower anyone offensively, even with Antoine Griezmann leading the line. Atletico Madrid have only managed to score 7 goals in their 5 games in the group stages so far, but they have also only given up a single goal. This is almost identical to the game plan that they used to get all the way to the final last season. Their current form is not particularly great, though, as they have lost 2 of their last 3 games in La Liga. They seem to save their best for this tournament, and will want to get through unbeaten.
Why bet on the Bayern Munich
I can’t really remember the last time that Bayern Munich have had to settle for second place at this stage of the season, but that is exactly what they are doing in both the Champions League and the Bundesliga. Bayern have taken 9 points from their first 5 games, but are coming off a surprise loss to Rostov in Matchday 5. They are also off the pace in the Bundesliga, where Leipzig are a huge surprise at the top of the table. There is no reason to hit the panic button on this team just yet, though, as this is an experienced bunch that has more than enough talent to dig out. Munich have managed 13 goals in their 5 games so far, surrendering 6 in the process.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
Given the fact that both these teams have already booked safe passage to the net round, it’s tough to say how things are going to go. I just don’t see Atletico deviating from their usual game plan, so I believe we will get a low scoring one here.
