From Rollie Fingers’ legendary curly mustache to Joe Mauer’s “beastly sideburns”, beards and mustaches have become a synonym of MLB. Many things have changed since the days when facial hair was consider an ungentlemanly practice in baseball. With only one exception to the rule (Yes Yankees, I’m referring to you!!), most teams have got on board with the beards.
Some are consider a good luck charm (Remember the 2010-12 San Francisco Giants or the 2013 Red Sox?), some just let players to project a most aggressive and fearsome persona on the field, but many simply grow free despite the stage of the season or the team record.
