As we get closer to Saturday night and UFC 256, MMA fans are holding their breath and hoping that we don’t see any more cancellations, like we did last week. Right now, everything is a go, which means that we have a main card with 5 fights, including a big title fight as the headline event. It’s certainly a fantastic card and is the penultimate event of 2020 in UFC, with next week’s Fight Night being the last big event of the year. We have a lot to cover here, so let’s get right into the previews and picks for the 5 fights on the main card, along with their UFC odds.

UFC 256: Figueiredo Vs Moreno | MMA Betting

Junior dos Santos (+340) Vs Ciryl Gane (-440)

The opening fight of the main card is a Heavyweight bout between a UFC legend and a fighter looking to make a name for himself in the sport. Junior dos Santos has nothing left to prove to anyone, but does he have anything left in the tank? The Brazilian comes into this one having lost 3 in a row, with all of those defeats coming in the early rounds. Cyril Gane is a perfect 6-0 in his pro career and winner of all 3 fights at the UFC level. This is a huge test against one of the greats of the fight game, but I think Gane gets it with the KO.

Kevin Holland (-115) Vs Ronaldo Souza (-115)

This Light Heavyweight bout is a good one, but the fact that it comes early in the card tells you a little something. Souza is now 41 years of age and has lost 3 of his last 4 fights to fall to 26-8 on his career, which makes you think it might be the last time we see him with the UFC. Holland comes in at 20-5 and on a run that has now seen him win each of his last 4 fights. I think he makes it 5 in a row on Saturday night, but I also think that Souza might take him the distance.

Mackenzie Dern (-190) Vs Virna Jandiroba (+155)

We have a very good looking women’s Strawweight battle up next featuring a pair of fighters who have only combined for 2 losses in their careers. Dern is 9-1 and the winner of 4 of her last 5 fights. That includes back-to-back opening round wins ahead of this bout. Jandiroba has the same record over her last 5 fights and is now 16-1 in her career. She has also won each of her last 2 bouts with early finishes. Expect to see most of this fight fought on the canvas, with Dern coming away with the submission win.

Tony Ferguson (-165) Vs Charles Oliveira (+135)

This Lightweight bout, which is listed as the co-main event, has all the makings of a great fight. Tony Ferguson as the champ back in 2017, but was stripped of the title after a long period of inactivity. He has fought 3 times since then, winning consecutive bouts before losing to Justin Gaethje earlier this year. Charles Oliveira is on a hot streak ahead of this bout, winning each of his last 8 fights to get to 29-8. This looks like a fight that could go the distance, but I think Ferguson might jut get the KO in the later rounds.

Deivison Figueiredo (-315) Vs Brandon Moreno (+255)

The final fight of the night is a Flyweight title bout that I do not see going the distance. This will be the second title defense for Figuieredo, who has been in devastating form of late. He has won 5 in a row, with 4 of those victories coming in the 1st or 2nd round. Moreno has also been good, winning 4 in a row to get to 18-5-1 in his career. His most recent win was a 1st round victory, but this is a much tougher task. I have the champ winning this one in convincing style.
