UFC Picks & Odds – UFC 250 Nunes vs Spencer

Written by on June 6, 2020

After a period of uncertainty, the UFC recently got back to business in what was a very surreal environment. There was something just a little strange about seeing fighters head into the Octagon with no crowd to herald their arrival. It is going to be more of this same this coming weekend in Las Vegas, with UFC 250 once again set to go off with no fans in attendance. The good news is that ESPN will offering the event on PPV, which will give us all a chance to watch what looks to be a very entertaining main card. In all, there are 5 fights on the main card, with the title bout between Nunes and Spencer serving as the headline bout. Let’s take a closer look inside each of the 5 fights so you can place your bets against their MMA odds.

UFC 250 Nunes vs Spencer

Eddie Wineland (+350) Vs Sean O’Malley (-500)

The main card begins with a bantamweight bout that does not look likely to go the distance give that both fighters have some serious stopping power in their arsenal. Wineland is the more experienced of the two fighters, coming into this one with a 24-13-1 career mark, with 61% of his wins coming by way of the KO. O’Malley is still unbeaten at 11-0, but this will be a tough test against a very solid veteran. O’Malley has won 60% of his fights by KO, and I think he will improve on that with the KO win here.

Neil Magny (-150) Vs Anthony Rocco Martin (+120)

Next up is a great looking welterweight bout between a pair of fighters who have been around the block in the UFC. Their contrasting fight styles make this one particularly interesting. Magny comes in with a career mark of 22-8, with the majority of his fights going the distance. He does have some power, with 33% of his wins coming via KO. Martin is all about getting to the mat, with more than half of his 17 wins coming via submission. A tough one to call, but I am going with Magny.

Aljamain Sterling (-115) Vs Cory Sandhagen (-115)

The next fight on the UFC 250 main card may well be the most evenly matched of the bunch, with both fighters highly ranked in the bantamweight division. Sterling comes in with a 17-3 record and a style that sees him try to get his opponent on the ground as quickly as possible. That technique has led to a lost of wins by submission, but we also see almost half his fights go the distance. Sandhagen can mix things up a little, with wins by KO and submission in his 12-1 career mark. A close one, but I am taking Sterling via UD.

Rafael Assuncao (+125) Vs Cody Garbrandt (-155)

Next is another fantastic looking bantamweight bout between a pair of fighters ranked in the top 10 in the division. Assuncao is a gritty fighter who is able to grind out with close to half of his bouts going the distance. He comes into this one with a career mark of 27-2. For Garbrandt, things tend to be over before they even really get going, with 82% of his wins coming via KO. That blazing style can get him in trouble sometimes, but I think it will get him the win here.

Amanda Nunes (-600) Vs Felicia Spencer (+400)

Nunes has been a very busy woman over the past couple of years, picking up the belt in a pair of different divisions. She focused on defending her bantamweight title twice in 2019, but this will be the first defense of her featherweight crown, which she earned in a win over Cyborg. Her opponent here is not particularly experienced in fights under the UFC banner, going 2-1, with her lone loss coming to Cyborg. I think this one is over quickly, with Nunes retaining the title.
