Betting 2024 CFL Season
The CFL regular season is complete, and the 2024 playoffs are set to kick off on Saturday, November 2, with two exciting matchups.
After 21 weeks, the playoff picture has taken shape, with several teams making a strong case for the Grey Cup.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are making their first home playoff appearance in three years, while the Ottawa REDBLACKS are back in the postseason for the first time since 2018.
The odds for the Grey Cup, per the latest lines, favor the Montreal Alouettes (+156) and Winnipeg Blue Bombers (+192).
Writer’s Picks to Win Big in Semifinals of the Season
Eastern Semi-Final: Ottawa RedBlacks vs. Toronto Argonauts
The Toronto Argonauts enter this matchup with solid momentum, having posted a 10-8 regular season record and winning seven of nine home games.
They are favored to advance and have Grey Cup odds at +460.
Toronto’s consistency throughout the season, especially at BMO Field, makes them a tough challenge for Ottawa.
The REDBLACKS, who finished 9-8-1, stumbled into the playoffs, losing five of their final six games.
They’ve struggled on the road with a 2-7 away record, and facing a seasoned playoff team like Toronto will be a daunting task.
Toronto’s defense is expected to be a key factor, and with both teams having met recently in Week 20, the Argos look well-positioned to take control early.
Western Semi-Final: BC Lions vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders
The Roughriders are back in the playoffs and hosting a postseason game for the first time since 2021.
Saskatchewan finished 9-8-1, winning four of their final five games before resting their starters in the final week.
The Riders’ strong defense and Trevor Harris’ steady play at quarterback make them favorites to advance, with Grey Cup odds sitting at +590.
The BC Lions have had an inconsistent season, finishing at 9-9.
While Vernon Adams Jr. has shown flashes at quarterback, the Lions will need a near-perfect performance on the road at Mosaic Stadium.
Saskatchewan’s defense is expected to pressure Adams and limit BC’s passing attack, giving the Riders the upper hand in a must-win game.
Key Playoff Storylines
The shift to the playoffs brings several compelling narratives.
Toronto’s bid for its fourth straight Eastern Final appearance highlights the team’s recent dominance, while Saskatchewan hopes to capitalize on its home-field advantage in front of passionate fans.
Meanwhile, Ottawa’s return to the postseason after a five-year absence adds intrigue to the Eastern matchup.
BC’s quarterback play and defensive inconsistency have been question marks all season, making their performance against Saskatchewan one to watch.
With a raucous atmosphere at Mosaic Stadium, the Lions will need to avoid turnovers and establish a ground game to stand any chance.
Grey Cup Outlook
The playoff outcomes will shape the Grey Cup odds significantly.
Currently, Montreal and Winnipeg lead the pack with +156 and +192 odds, respectively, reflecting their dominance throughout the season.
However, both Toronto and Saskatchewan are viable dark horses, with +460 and +590 odds to lift the Grey Cup.
A win in the semifinals could provide the momentum needed to make a deep playoff run.
The semifinals will serve as the first step toward the Grey Cup, setting the tone for what should to be an exciting postseason.

CFL Playoff Odds: Semi-Finals Ready to Get Underway
Previous Betting News
The Toronto Argonauts’ defense of their Grey Cup championship has been going as well as they could have hoped. The Argonauts dominated the East Division and will get to sit out the first week of the postseason. But that’s not a luxury that four CFL teams were able to secure.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes will face off in the East Division semifinal for the right to try and upset Toronto. The Calgary Stampeders and B.C. Lions will square off in the West Division semifinals for the right to play the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the Western Division title.
With that in mind, here’s a look at what to expect from the Semi-Finals so you can bet against their CFL betting lines.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Montreal Alouettes | Eastern Semi-Final
CFL Odds: Alouettes -3
Wednesday, November 4th, 2023 at 3:00 pm
Molson Stadium, Quebec, Canada
The Alouettes are one of the hottest teams entering the playoffs. Montreal won its last five games of the season to put an exclamation point on its second-place spot in the East Division. The Alouettes beat Hamilton 22-20 in the last week of the season to finish 11-7 overall.
The Alouettes were 11-0 this season against teams that finished below them in the standings. Montreal only failed to beat the top teams in the league. The Alouettes have primarily relied on their defense to carry them in games. Quarterback Cody Fajardo has mainly been inconsistent.
The Tiger-Cats would have loved to have a player be the primary quarterback for most of the season. Taylor Powell appeared most frequently, playing in 12 games and finishing with a team-high 2,283 passing yards with 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Hamilton is 9-8-1 against the spread this season. Eight of the Tiger-Cats 18 games went under the total.
Montreal is -162 on the moneyline, while the Tiger-Cats are +136. The over/under has been set at 48.5 points. The Alouettes swept the regular season series 3-0 and Hamilton didn’t score more than 20 points in any of the three meetings.

Calgary Stampeders at B.C. Lions | Western Semi-Final
CFL Odds: Lions -6.5
Wednesday, November 4th, 2023 at 3:00 pm
Molson Stadium, Quebec, Canada
It’s hard to believe the Stampeders survived the intense battle for third place in the West Division to make the playoffs. Calgary’s made the playoffs every year since 2005, the longest streak in the league. But to make this trip to the postseason mean something, the Stampeders will have to win against an explosive Lions team.
Well, B.C. is explosive when quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. is healthy and consistent. Adams has struggled to take care of the ball this season. Adams didn’t play much in B.C. and Calgary’s meeting a few weeks back. Dane Evans saw most of the snaps at quarterback and threw three interceptions.
The Stampeders beat B.C. 41-16 in that game to qualify for the playoffs. Calgary’s defense has also struggled to keep up with opponents. Ten of Calgary’s 18 games went under the total, while the Stampeders are 9-9 against the spread. B.C. is 8-9-1 against the spread this season. The Lions have seen the total go over in 11 of their 18 games.
