For the first time in a few weeks, the top 4 teams in the National Rankings managed to win and maintain their places at the top. We did, though, still see some surprises, with Oklahoma State losing their unbeaten record sitting at the top of the list. That is all in the past now, which means that it’s time to look forward to Week 9, which has the potential to be huge. We will see the #1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs go head-to-head against their biggest rivals, as they will head to Jacksonville to face the Florida Gators. We will also have Michigan and Michigan State squaring off, with one of them set to lose their unbeaten record. It’s another huge week, with the end of the regular season now in sight. Let’s take a look at our ATS picks for Week 9 of the 2021 season so you can ready to make your bets against the NCAAF odds.
Week 9 ATS Picks for the 2021 Season | NCAA Football Betting
Iowa Hawkeyes (+3) at Wisconsin Badgers
For the first few weeks of the season, the Iowa Hawkeyes were an ever present in our weekly picks, as we chose to ride with them until they let us down. That came a couple of weeks ago with a surprise loss to Purdue, but they are back after a bye week and back on our list of picks. This weekend, they will be on the road to face a Wisconsin Badgers team that has put things back together nicely and are on a 3-game win streak. The Hawkeyes have had a tough time of it against Wisconsin, winning just 3 of their last 10 meetings. Still, there is a lot to like here in terms of the spread, starting with the fact that Iowa has covered in each of their last 5 road games. They are also 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
Boston College Eagles at Syracuse Orange (-5 ½)
We are at the stage of the season where the conversation turns to teams trying to get themselves into position for a bowl game. That is where both of these teams are, as both are on 4 wins and need a couple more in the next few weeks to secure a bowl game spot. Neither team is in particularly great form, with Boston College coming into this one on a 3-game losing skid, whole the Orange have just 1 win in their last 4. Despite the poor form, one of these teams has to win and one has to cover the spread. Since we are looking at ATS here, them we need to look at Syracuse. The Orange have covered in each of their last 6 games and are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games at home.
Kentucky Wildcats (-1) at Mississippi State Bulldogs
Getting through the SEC schedule unscathed is about as tough as it gets, but you have to give credit to the Kentucky Wildcats for making a great run at it. They come into this game with a 6-1 record, with their lone loss of the season coming on the road to the #1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. They have had plenty of time to think about that, as they are coming into this game off a bye week. This Kentucky team has covered the spread in each of their last 6 games against conference foes and are 6-1 ATS on the season. On the flipside, you have Mississippi State, who are just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games played in the month of October.
