AAF Week 7 Betting Odds, Preview & Picks

2019 AAF Standings

Eastern Conference

  • Orlando Apollos (5-1)
  • Birmingham Iron (4-2)
  • Atlanta Legends (2-4)
  • Memphis Express (1-5)

Western Conference

  • San Antonio Commanders (4-2)
  • San Diego Fleet (3-3)
  • Arizona Hotshots (3-3)
  • Salt Lake Stallions (2-4)

Orlando at Atlanta

  • When: Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM ET
  • Where: Georgia State Stadium, Atlanta, GA
  • TV: TNT

Analysis: Orlando suffered their first loss of the season this past Saturday by falling to Arizona 22-17 at home no less. Atlanta had their two-game winning streak snapped in their humbling 37-6 smackdown loss to San Antonio, also at home, this past Sunday. The Apollos lead the league in scoring by averaging 27.6 points per game and they rank second in points allowed (16.5 ppg). Conversely, Atlanta ranks dead last in scoring (12.1 ppg) and last in points allowed (26.6 ppg). This matchup looks like a virtual lock for Orlando, particularly seeing as how they’re going to be highly motivated after losing for the first time this season.

Salt Lake at San Antonio

  • When: Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 8:00 PM ET
  • Where: Alamodome, San Antonio, TX
  • TV: NFLTV

Analysis: Despite averaging a modest 18.6 points per game and allowing 20.1 points per contest defensively, Salt Lake picked up their second win of the season in Week 6 by beating Memphis 22-9 at home. On the flip side of the coin, San Antonio won their third straight to improve to 4-2 on the season by smacking Atlanta senseless en route to a commanding 37-6 win on Sunday. The Commanders are averaging 22.1 points per game and allowing 19.3 points per contest defensively. Just like their counterparts in Orlando, San Antonio looks like a virtual lock in Week 7.

San Diego at Arizona

  • When: Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 4:00 PM ET
  • Where: Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe, AZ
  • TV: CBSSN

Analysis: San Diego continued their trends of alternating wins and losses over the last four weeks by falling to Birmingham 32-29 in a thriller this past Sunday. The Fleet are averaging 23.3 points per game while allowing 20.1 points per game defensively.

Arizona evened its record at three up and three down by surprising previously unbeaten Orlando 22-17 on Saturday. The Hotshots are averaging 21.8 points per game and allowing 20.5 points per contest defensively.

With both teams having identical 3-3 records heading into this contest, I see no reason why Arizona shouldn’t be able to get the win here, mostly because they have home-field advantage.

Birmingham at Memphis

  • When: Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 8:00 PM ET
  • Where: Liberty Bowl Stadium, Memphis, TN
  • TV: NFLTV

Analysis: Birmingham got past San Diego 32-29 in the most exciting game on the Week 6 schedule to snap a two-game skid. The Iron are averaging a modest20.5 points per game but have the league’s stingiest defense by limiting the opposition to just 15.5 points per game defensively. Memphis looked almost inept in their 22-9 Week 6 loss at Salt Lake and the Express are averaging an uninspiring 15.5 points per game to rank seventh in the AAF this season while allowing 22.5 points per game defensively. Dare I say it, but this matchup looks like the third virtual lock on the Week 7 docket.

Now, happy hunting pro football betting buffs!
