College Football Odds: ACC Most Anticipated Conference Betting Matches
As spring turns into summer, we have to start looking ahead and thinking about the return of college football, although some of us have probably been thinking about the new season since the last one ended.
My Analysis
It’s certainly going to be different this year, with a new playoff system in place and the conferences looking very different from how they were this time last year.
The ACC will welcome 3 new members, with SMU, Stanford, and California ready to take part in 2024. The Florida State Seminoles are the defending champions after an unbeaten season in 2023, becoming the first champ since the conference scrapped the 2-division system. There are some huge games on the schedule this coming season, so let’s take a look at a few to consider in your NCAAF betting plans.
^NC State Wolfpack at Clemson Tigers
There has been a power shift in the ACC over the past few years, with Clemson now no longer seen as the automatic winner. They went just 4-4 in conference play last season, with one of those losses coming at the hands of the Wolfpack, albeit on the road.
If NC State is to once again challenge for one of the top 2 spots in the ACC, they are going to need to find a way to win in Clemson. This one comes early in the season and could set the tone for how things play out.

Virginia Tech Hokies at Miami Hurricanes
The Hokies ended last season as one of the hottest teams in the conference, eventually ending up with a 5-3 record in conference play. Given their schedule for the coming season, they could well be unbeaten when they hit the road to face a Hurricanes team looking to pick themselves up after a less than stellar showing last year.
If the Hokies can go on the road and win this one, while potentially moving to 5-0, they may well be setting themselves up for a very memorable season.

Florida State Seminoles at Miami Hurricanes
The Seminoles will almost certainly be coming into this season with a chip on their shoulder after being left out of the playoffs despite going unbeaten all year. Matching that performance is going to be tough, but they only need to win the ACC to assure themselves of a spot in the new 12-team playoffs.
While there are certainly tougher challenges for the Seminoles this season, this rivalry game is one that is always circled on the calendar. Form tends to go out the window when these two hook up, and this version should be no different.

Louisville Cardinals at Clemson Tigers
I almost went with the Notre Dame/Florida State matchup in Week 11, but this one just feels as though it might be a little more interesting. The Cardinals finished in the #2 spot in the conference last season before losing to Florida State in the ACC Championship Game.
They will be looking to return to the scene of that crime, but will need to get past the Clemson Tigers, who look set for a return to form this season. Coming so late in the year, the winner of this one could get a definite edge in the battle for the top 2 spots in the conference.
