After underachieving in a big way en route to an uninspiring 7-9 record in 2018, Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons will enter the 2019 regular season looking for nothing less than a playoff berth that they hope will result in an extended stay in the postseason. Whether the former ‘Dirty Birds’ can do just that remains to be seen, but either way, you’re going to have a great idea of just how many victories the Falcons are going to finish with in 2019 thanks to the expert NFL odds analysis that you’re about to get from yours truly.
With the offseason rolling right along and the start of preseason football probably a lot closer than you think, let’s get down to business.
Atlanta Falcons 2019 Season Win/Loss Total Odds & Predictions
Week 1 at Minnesota
The Vikings underachieved in a big way after signing Kirk Cousins but they win this regular season opener, mostly because they’re at home! Loss. 0-1.
Week 2 vs. Philadelphia
After a couple of heartbreaking losses against the Birds, the Falcons finally get past Philly in another thriller between the NFC Super Bowl hopefuls. Win 1-1.
Week 3 at Indianapolis
Indianapolis has the best quarterback in this matchup in Andrew Luck, plus they have a ton of confidence following last season’s stunning 10-6 season. The Colts take care of business at home. Loss. 1-2.
Week 4 vs. Tennessee
The Titans had a solid 9-7 season a year ago, but Matty Ice outplays the oft-injured Marcus Mariota in this one! Win. 2-2.Week 5 at Houston
Play time is over for Deshaun Watson and the Texans! Houston holds it down at home! Loss. 2-3.
Week 6 at Arizona
Simply put, Matt Ryan and the superior Falcons get past Kyler Murray and the rebuilding Cardinals. Win. 3-3.
Week 7 vs. L.A. Rams
I’m thinking this Week 7 matchup produces a wild, wild west kind of shootout the Falcons narrowly win! 4-3.
Week 8 vs. Seattle
Unfortunately, Atlanta fails this Week 8 litmus test of a matchup against Russell Wilson and company. 4-4.
Week 9 BYE
Week 10 at New Orleans
Atlanta loses as part of a regular season split against their NFC South division rivals. 4-5.
Week 11 at Carolina
Again, the Falcons fall to Carolina this time as part of a regular season split. 4-6.
Week 12 vs. Tampa Bay
The Bucs will be better in 2019 because of the arrival of Bruce Arians., but I’m thinking Atlanta wins as part of another regular season split. 5-6.
Week 13 vs. New Orleans
The Saints are going to find out that payback is a b*#ch! Atlanta wins. 6-6.
Week 14 vs. Carolina
Again, Ryan and the Falcons get some payback in this Week 14 matchup! 7-6.
Week 15 at San Francisco
Jimmy G this and Jimmy G that….Matt Ryan is still the best quarterback in this Week 15 affair. Win. 8-6.
Week 16 vs. Jacksonville
The Falcons finally beat Nick Foles after he led Philly to a couple of huge wins over Atlanta the last couple of seasons. 9-6.
Week 17 at Tampa Bay
With a chance to get in the playoffs on the line, Jameis Winston comes up big in Bruce Arians’ new offense. Loss. 9-7.
