2019 AUDL Playoffs Odds, Preview and Picks

Saturday, July 20

L.A. Aviators vs San Diego Growlers (Division Championship)

The Aviators head into the playoffs on a 4-match winning streak: 18-17 over San Diego, 31-27 over San Jose, 27-14 over Seattle, and 31-23 over Seattle. The San Diego Growlers head into this match on a 3-game winning streak: 30-25 versus Seattle, 26-25 versus Seattle, and 26-20 versus San Jose.

This battle takes place in San Diego. The Growlers went 3-1 straight up versus the Aviators this season. In the last matchup, Los Angeles beat San Diego 18-17. The Growlers should turn the tables and cover on Saturday, though. They’ve consistently beaten L.A.

AUDL Betting Pick: San Diego Growlers

Chicago Wildfire vs Pittsburgh Thunderbirds (First Round)

The Wildfire-Thunderbirds winner travels to Indianapolis to take on the Alleycats on Sunday. Chicago gets 2 points in this matchup because the game takes place in Pittsburgh. The Thunderbirds dominated the Wildfire 29-16 in the last head-to-head matchup.

Pittsburgh is 2-0 versus Chicago this AUDL Season. The Thunderbirds not only destroyed Chicago by 13 points on July 13, they also beat them by 3 points, 21-18, on May 11. The Thunderbirds should win and cover.

AUDL Betting Pick: Pittsburgh Thunderbirds

DC Breeze vs Toronto Rush (First Round)

Both the DC Breeze and Toronto Rush went 7-5 during the regular season. The teams split their two head-to-head matchups. The Rush beat the Breeze 26-21 on July 6, though. At -1, Toronto looks like a massive overlay to win this.

AUDL Betting Pick: Toronto Rush

Sunday, July 21

DC/TOR vs New York Empire (Division Championship)

  • 2019 AUDL Playoffs Odds: TBA

New York Empire is 12-0 for a reason. They dominated their competition this season. No matter who wins the matchup between the Breeze and the Rush, New York should win on Sunday.

The key is to predict the spread. The Empire has dominated in the win column, but they only beat Toronto by 4 points, 22-17, on May 18. New York beat DC by only a single point, 26-25, on May 11. They also only beat the Breeze by  a single point again, 20-19, on June 1. The Empire is vulnerable here. Take the points no matter if it’s the Breeze or the Rush who play on July 21.

AUDL Betting Pick: Toronto Rush or DC Breeze

Saturday, July 27

CHI/PIT vs Indianapolis Alleycats (Division Championship)

  • 2019 AUDL Playoffs Odds: TBA

The Midwest is the deepest division in the American Ultimate Disc League. Indianapolis won the division, but they went 8-4, just like Pittsburgh. The Chicago Wildfire went 7-5 during the regular season.

Indianapolis should be favored no matter who they play on Sunday. The Alleycats will also be a play against. The Wildfire lost by only 3 to the Alleycats on July 6. On July 14, the Thunderbirds dominated Indianapolis 25-17.

AUDL Betting Pick: Pittsburgh Thunderbirds or Chicago Wildfire

Dallas Roughnecks vs Raleigh Flyers (Division Championship)

The Raleigh Flyers finished the season at 10-2. They lost their very first match of the year 17-19 on April 5 to the Dallas Roughnecks. They also dropped a game, 24-25, to the New York Empire on June 22.

Although Raleigh lost to Dallas in the first head-to-head match, they’ve dominated the Roughnecks ever since. They beat Dallas 27-18 on June 15. On July 5, the Flyers beat the Roughnecks 22-15. Raleigh should roll to an easy win and cover on July 27.

AUDL Betting Pick: Raleigh Flyers
