2018 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 Betting Preview & Prediction

The NASCAR season got off to a flying start last weekend, with Austin Dillon taking the checkered flag at the Daytona 500. There is little time to celebrate for the winning team, as the next pit stop in just up the highway at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, which will play host to the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 this coming Sunday, February 25 at 2 PM EST. All the drivers taking part will be looking to pick up some points early so that they can be part of the chase in the closing weeks of the NASCAR season. All the big names will be in Atlanta, so let’s take a look at the latest QuikTrip 500 betting odds, whilst also choosing a winner.

2018 Top Contenders

Kyle Busch

  • QuikTrip 500 Betting Odds: +400
The Atlanta Motor Speedway is a track where Busch has had some level of success, winning there twice over the years, although his last win in ATL was back in 2013. He finished 16th at this event last year, which came on the heels of a 3rd place finish in 2016. Busch had a very disappointing run at Dayton last week and will be looking to bounce back with a much better performance here. Busch should be a factor in this race.

Martin Truex Jr.

  • QuikTrip 500 Betting Odds: +400
Truex Jr. has never won at Atlanta Motor Speedway but he has certainly been knocking at the door over the last few years, landing in the top 10 in 5 of his last 6 races there. He appears to be long overdue for a win at this track, and I think this might well be the weekend where he gets it. Truex Jr. finished down the standings at Daytona last week but will bounce back in a big way on Sunday.

Kevin Harvick

  • QuikTrip 500 Betting Odds: +580
The first time that Harvick raced at Atlanta came back in 2001, and it was a stunningly successful debut, as he went on to win. He has not had another win at this track since that initial victory, but he does always seem to run well here. Harvick has cracked the top 10 in his of his last appearances at Atlanta Motor Speedway, so there is every reason to think that he might be among the leaders at the end.

Kyle Larson

  • QuikTrip 500 Betting Odds: +500
Larson will almost certainly get a lot of the betting action in this race, but there is one giant knock against him that should perhaps make you look elsewhere. Kyle Larson is among the 2018 QuikTrip 500 Betting favorites to win. Larson had a great run last year at this event, finishing second, but that failure to win meant that he continues to keep looking for his first win on a 1.5-mile track. He may eventually break that maiden, but I am not so sure it will happen this coming Sunday in Atlanta.

Chase Elliott

  • QuikTrip 500 Betting Odds: +580
Elliott has only made two appearances at the big Atlanta track, but he made an impact in both, landing in the top 10 in both 2016 and 2017. I don’t see him as the winner this weekend, although he may be well worth a look as a top 5 pick. As far as longshots go, I don’t think it would be a terrible idea to throw down a few bucks on Denny Hamlin. He had a strong 3rd place showing at Daytona last weekend and has had a win at this track.
