The NASCAR caravan heads south this weekend for a trip to the Atlanta Motor Speedway. It’s another full weekend of action on the track, but for the purposes of this piece, we are going to zoom in on Saturday and the Xfinity Series, with the EchoPark 250 set to go at 5PM EST. It has been a fabulous start to the season so far, but we do have a clear leader sitting atop the driver standings, which we will get into in just a moment. We also have several drivers expected to challenge for a championship this season looking to get in form, so this should be a fun one to watch. Let’s take a look at some of the favorites so you can get all set to make yvour bets against their NASCAR odds.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Race: 2021 EchoPark 250 Betting Picks
Throughout his time in the Xfinity Series, Justin Allgaier has been there or thereabouts in the overall standings. While he has yet to win a championship, he is coming off his best ever season, finishing second overall, which means that he has now been in the top 3 no less than 4 times. It has not been the best start to the season for Allgaier, who currently sits 11th in the driver standings, with just 1 top 10 finish out of 5 races. If he is going to break out of this slump, it might just well happen in Atlanta, where he has landed in the top 10 in each of the past 3 seasons.
This is a driver who has made the move to the Cup Series this season, so there is very little to go in in terms of the Xfinity Series, as this will be his first race of the year at this level. The experience gained going against stronger drivers is likely to help Chastain, who finished a very respectable 7th at the Daytona 500 in the opening week of the season. He was top 10 when he raced at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2020, and there is every reason to believe that he will be among the leaders on Saturday afternoon.
If anyone thought that Austin Cindric was going to rest on his laurels after winning the championship last season, they had better think again. Cindric has come storming out of the gate in 2021, picking up a pair of wins through the first 5 races of the season, including taking the checkered flag in Arizona last weekend. To this point in his career, the Atlanta Motor Speedway is not a track that has been particularly kind to Cindric, but given his current form, it’s tough to bet against him here.
It seems as though every single season delivers a surprise driver or two, and this season, you have to say that Brandon Jones is in that mix. In fairness to Jones, he had a solid season in 2021, finishing 6th overall in the driver standings. That is exactly where he is right now, thanks in large part to landing in the top 5 in 3 of the 5 races run this season. He has finished in the top 10 in each of the last 2 seasons in Atlanta, so no reason to think he can’t be among the leaders this weekend.
