It has been an interesting start to the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season, with the favorites struggling at the same time the underdogs have been taking the checkered flags. It may be too soon to make a bold statement regarding how the rest of the season might play out, but it does look as though we have one driver starting to make a move. We’ll get to that in a moment, but for now, let’s look at what’s coming this weekend. NASCAR will be in Richmond this weekend, with the Cup Series Toyota Owners 400 set to go on Sunday. Let’s now take a moment to take a look at the favorites to win the 2021 Toyota Owners 400 so you can bet against their NASCAR odds.
NASCAR Cup Series: 2021 Toyota Owners 400 Odds & Picks
Martin Truex Jr. (+300)
Just a moment ago, I mentioned that it looked as though we might have a driver ready to break away from the pack. Truex Jr. is in fantastic form at the moment and is coming off a double win in the Cup Series and the Truck Series. He now has 2 wins on the season, and while he is still sitting behind Denny Hamlin in the overall standings, that could well change with another good run this weekend. There is a better than average chance that he might deliver the goods at Richmond. After all, Truex Jr is in the pole position and has 2 wins in his last 3 runs there. He has been top 3 in each of his last 4 races at Richmond.
Denny Hamlin (+600)
As already mentioned, Hamlin is picking up where he left off last season and is sitting atop the NASCAR Cup Series standings after 8 races. While he has yet to pick up his first win of the year, he has landed in the top 5 in all but one of this season’s races. Hamlin had a similar go of it in 2020, sticking near the top all season long before making it into the final 4 and falling just short of a championship. That first win of the season could very well come this weekend, as Hamlin has been in the top 10 in 8 of his last 10 runs at Richmond. He has 3 career wins there, with the last one coming in 2016.
Brad Keselowski (+600)
It has not been a great start to the season for Keselowski, who is currently wallowing down in the #9 spot in the driver standings. He has been in the top 5 3 times in the 8 races to this point, but he also hasn’t been able to finish twice, which definitely has an impact on his standings. He is a driver that is overdue for a win, and Richmond might be where it happens, as he took the checkered flag the last time he raced there in September of last year. He has been top 10 in 7 of his last 8 races at Richmond.
Joey Logano (+700)
When you are looking for drivers to wager on for a particular race, it certainly helps to look back at how they have performed at the track they are about to hit. Logano has made a great start to the season and already has a win under his belt. That explains why he is among the favorites, but it’s also his past performances at Richmond that have him there, too. He has been in the top 10 in 10 of his last 13 runs at Richmond, winning twice during that stretch.
