The Top 5 Drivers To Bet On
No. 5 Ross Chastain
The 27-year-old is sitting in fourth place in the NASCAR Xfinity standings with a stupendous 15 Top-10 finishes in 17 races to go along with seven Top-5 finishes. Unfortunately, Chastain is still in search of his first victory of the season, but there are plenty of reasons to believe he will crack the Top 5 while challenging for the outright win. Chastain has recorded 10 straight Top-10 finishes while finishing inside the Top-5 in three of his last four races overall. Not only that, but Chastain will be looking for a better performance after finishing a disappointing 30th in this race a year ago.
No. 4 Brett Moffitt
Currently in fifth place in the truck series standings, Moffitt has recorded five Top-10 finishes and three Top-5 finishes in 10 races. While Moffitt finished a disappointing 27t in Kansas the last time out, he did finish second in the first race at Kansas, one week after finishing fifth in Texas. Moffitt has finished inside the Top-11 in four of his last five races and he finished fourth in Michigan a year ago.
No. 3 Cole Custer
Currently 19th in the NASCAR Cup series standings, the gifted 22-year-old Custer has recorded five Top-10 finishes and a pair of Top-5 finishes while picking up a hard-fought victory in Kentucky five weeks back. More importantly, Custer comes into this event fresh off a pair of Top10 finishes at Kansas (7th) and New Hampshire (8th). Maybe it’s me, but Custer looks like a lock to finish inside the Top 5 at the very least.
No. 2 Grant Effinger
Effinger has five Top-10 finishes in 10 races this season to go along with four Top-5 finishes and a series-best two victories in the season opener at Daytona and a month later in Atlanta. Effinger has three straight Top-10 finishes and a pair of identical third place finishes while finishing seventh in this race a year ago. Make no mistake about it, Effinger will have a great chance to win this race!
No. 1 Austin Hill
Hill sits atop the truck series standings with five Top-10 finishes in 10 races. Hills has also recorded a series-best nine Top-10 finishes while also recording five Top-5 finishes and one victory at Kansas two weeks ago. Hill took the checkered flag in this race a year ago and has finished outside the Top-10 just once in finishing 30th at Texas three weeks ago. The standings leader is my top prohibitive favorite to win this Truck Series showdown.
