Its another busy weekend in the world of NASCAR, as we will be heading to Talladega for a whole slew of racing action. Included among the weekend events is another Xfinity Series race, with the Unhinged 300 set to go off on Saturday night, June 20, at 5:30 PM EST. We are now 10 races into the season and have a trio of drivers dominating at the top, with those guts accounting for 7 of the 10 wins thus far. Two of those 3 drivers – Noah Gragson and Chase Briscoe – are among the favorites to win this weekend at Talladega, with Harrison Burton, the third driver in the top 3, sitting at very decent odds right now. Let’s take a closer look at some of the favorites and their chances of winning the Unhinged 300 so you can make your bets against their NASCAR odds.
Unhinged 300 – NASCAR Xfinity Series
Noah Gragson
The current leader in the Xfinity Series driver standings, Gragson leads the way by the very slimmest of margins. He has amassed 435 points through the first 10 races, which has him just 18 points ahead of Chase Briscoe. Gragson has been a model of consistency this season, landing in the top 5 in 7 of the 10 races run, which includes a pair of wins. He has but 2 races under his belt at Talladega, with mixed results. His first race there came in 2018, when he finished in 4th, but he was off the pace a little last season, finishing 11th in his run there. Gragson is in great form, but I’m not sure about betting on him here.
Chase Briscoe
While Briscoe may be in second in the driver standings, he actually has the most wins on the season with 3. He is just off the pace die to the fact that he has 2 fewer top 5 finishes than Gragson, but both drivers are tied in top 10 finishes with 8. It has been a fantastic start to the season for Briscoe, and he will hope to keep that going with a win on Saturday. He had a good run at Talladega last season, finishing 4th in the MoneyLion 300. Briscoe is definitely worth a look and it may be where my money is going.
Justin Allgaier
There is a very good reason why Allgaier needs to be considered a very good bet here, and it’s not just because of the fantastic start that he has made to the season. He has been a legitimate threat almost every time he has raced at Talladega. You have to throw out last year’s run, when an accident took him out of the race. Prior to that Allgaier was on a run of 6 consecutive top 10 finishes on the season. He already has 2 wins on the season and needs to be viewed as a potential winner on Saturday.
Ross Chastain
While Chastain is in as one of the favorites to win the NASCAR Unhinged 300, I am looking at him as a bit of a longshot, which are words that may yet come back to haunt me. Chastain is 5th overall in the driver standings with 8 finishes in the top 10, but he has yet to take the checkered flag. I see nothing in his previous races at Talladega to suggest that he might get that first win on Saturday. His previous best finish at that track was 12th, which was last season.
