Joey Angelo vs Walber Barros

  • BKFC 8 Odds: TBA

Angelo had a couple of bare knuckle fights before joining BKFC. In his first bare knuckle brawl, he didn’t even get paid. Now, he hopes to use a victory over Walber Barros to leapfrog to a potential nice payday against Wanderlei Silva or Chris Leben.

Walber Barros fought Joe Riggs to a draw in his last. This could come down to a small change Angelo made in his training. He talked about using his knuckles to loop punches and cut opponents instead of looking to punch hard. More precision punching than power. That could be what leads him to a victory over Barros.

Bare Knuckle Betting Pick: Joey Angelo

Jared Warren vs Brian Maxwell

  • BKFC 8 Odds: TBA

Maxwell had a 3-2 MMA record, and a 1-0-1 Muay Thai record, before deciding to jump to bare knuckle. He signed a 3-fight deal with BKFC. Although Jared Warren will be Maxwell’s first BKFC opponent, he has trained with Bare Knuckle Championship fighter Bruce Abramski. Abramski, no doubt, has shown Maxwell the ropes.

Maxwell has yet to win a BKFC fight. That hasn’t stopped him from declaring that Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships is his new home. The confidence should show in the ring on Saturday night. Maxwell wins.

Bare Knuckle Betting Pick: Brian Maxwell

Jim Alers vs Julian Lane

Champion Alers is 2-0 after wins against Elvin Brito via knockout at BKFC 6 and a technical knockout victory over Leonard Garcia at BKFC 7. He’s quickly become one of the top fighters at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships.

Garcia beat Julian Lane. Although styles make fights, Lane could have some trouble staying on his feet in this one. Alers should jump on Lane from the first bell. Alers pads his ever growing bare knuckle resume with another big knockout win.

Bare Knuckle Betting Pick: Jim Alers

Antonio Silva vs Gabriel Gonzaga

Antonio Silva enters the ring a favorite over Gabriel Gonzaga. Bigfoot offers favorite’s odds based primarily on reputation. He’s got heavy hands and a great chin, but he didn’t end his MMA career wowing anybody. Starting with a knockout loss to Mark Hunt at UFC 193 in 2015, Stefan Struve, Roy Nelson, and Vitaly Minakov all knocked out Bigfoot. Ivan Shtyrkov beat Silva via decision, which means he enters this battle having lost his last 5 MMA fights, 4 via KO.

Gonzaga lost his last couple of fights. But, he should bring more speed to the main event at BKFC 8 than his opponent. Although this battle could go either way, backing Gonzaga makes sense. He offers better odds and should have the slightly faster hands.

Bare Knuckle Betting Pick: Gabriel Gonzaga
