Bellator 210 Main Card

David Rickels vs Guillherme Bomba

In the Co-Main Event, 19-5 welterweight Rickels hopes to move in line for a title shot with an impressive win over Guillherme Bomba. Rickels has won 7 of his fights via decision, 6 via TKO or KO and 6 via submission. That means he’s got the balance to beat Bomba.

Bomba, 10-4, hasn’t lost a fight via submission or KO/TKO, though. All 4 of his losses came via decision. If Bomba can take advantage of a few openings early, he could set the pace over the more experienced Rickels. Bomba’s the play.

Bellator 210 Pick: Guillherme Bomba

Juan Archuleta vs Jeremy Spoon

In this Featherweight Feature Fight, 19-1 Juan Archuleta’s got 3 inches on 21-4 Jeremy Spoon. Archuleta’s an incredibly smart stand-up fighter. He’s won 9 of his bouts via KO/TKO and the other 9 via decision. He’s only submitted a single fighter.

Because Archuleta’s one loss happened via submission, Spoon’s goal will be to get the fight to the mat. That won’t happen because Archuleta’s too savvy in his stand up. This fight could end early with a Juan Archuleta knockout victory.

Bellator 210 Pick: Juan Archuleta

Kristina Williams vs Bruna Ellen

2-1 Kristina Williams will look to use her 4” height advantage at 5’ 8” to keep Bruna Ellen off balance and from reaching her. Williams’ lone loss was via decision, which means if she can instill her strategy, she’ll manage to beat Ellen either via decision or catch Ellen if Ellen gets desperate.

3 of Ellen’s 4 wins have come via decision. That means she’s developed skills to duck underneath and get to her often taller opponents because she’s only 5’ 4”. Ellen could use her skills to win this but Williams’ reach advantage is too difficult to overlook.

In one of the closest bouts of the night, looking pats the taller fighter’s tough.

Bellator 210 Pick: Kristina Williams

Chidi Njokuani vs John Salter

18-5 Njokuani versus 15-4 Salter should be a blast of a battle. Both are tall, Njokuani’s 6’ 3” and Salter’s 6’ 1”. Also, both are straight up fighters:  10 of Njokuani’s wins have come via knockout or technical knockout while Salter’s either submitted or KO/TKO’ed his opponents in all of his wins.

This is an impossible fight to choose a  winner with confidence. Chidi should use his extreme reach advantage to get to Salter, and although Satler’s as tough as they come, Njokuani’s the pick because he can use that reach advantage to also keep his distance.
