Bellator 246: Archuleta Vs Mix Betting Preview

Written by on September 10, 2020

We have not yet seen Bellator 245 take place, although we do already have put preview and picks sorted out, but we have decided to take a sneak peek at Bellator 246. That event goes on Friday September 18 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, which has basically been base camp for the Bellator events during the pandemic. Given that we are doing the preview so far out, we don’t yet have odds, and any picks made here could change. A lot can happen in the space of a week in MMA, so be sure to keep up to date with the news on this event and check back in for the odds when they go live next week. For now, let’s take a quick look at the 3 fights set for the main card of Bellator 246 so you can place your bets against their Bellator odds.

Bellator 246: Archuleta Vs Mix Analysis | MMA Betting

Derek Campos Vs Keoni Diggs

The main card begins with an interesting fight between an MMA veteran and an up and comer. At this stage of his career, you have to wonder just how much Campos has left in the tank. His 20-10 record is decent enough, but it is his recent form that is more than a little troubling. He has just 1 win in his last 5 fights, with that lone victory the only one of the bunch that went the distance. Keoni Diggs comes in with an 8-0 record, but just 1 fight in Bellator, which was a 2nd round submission win versus Scotty Hao. This will be a tougher test for the unbeaten fighter, but I think he is ready.

Liz Carmouche Vs Deanna Bennett

It is the ladies who are up next in a flyweight bout featuring a pair of fighters who have struggled with consistency of late in their pro careers. Liz Carmouche is making her first start in Bellator after dropping out of the UFC. It was a loss to Valentina Schevchenko at UFC Fight Night last August that proved to be her last. At 36, she is perhaps on borrowed time. Bennet has been fighting with Invicta and not having much success, losing 3 of her last 4. She looks to be in over her head here.

Jon Fitch Vs Neiman Gracie

This welterweight bout is in as the co-main event and features a fighter with a very famous last name. Neiman Gracie is a 4th generation fighter from the iconic Gracie family and comes into this one with an 9-1 record. He was 7-0 under the Bellator banner before taking his first loss against Rory MacDonald at Bellator 222. He will look to bounce back against 42-year old Jon Fitch, a former champion at different levels, but a fighter who is very much in the twilight of his career. You have to like Gracie here.

Juan Archuleta Vs Patch Mix

The final fight of the night is a big one, as it is a battle for the vacant bantamweight title. Archuleta comes into this one with a 23-2 career mark. He saw an 18-fight unbeaten streak come to an end with a loss to Patricio Pitbull at Bellator 228, but he did bounce back with a win after that one. Patch Mix is a perfect 13-0 in his career and has 3 straight 1st round wins under his belt ahead of this one. This really is a tough one to call.
