Teofimo Takes on Claggett and Estrada versus Bam in Title Fights Dive into Betting on Boxing Odds

This Saturday night, boxing fans are in for a double dose of action, with Teofimo Lopez facing off against Steve Claggett in the main event of an ESPN broadcast fight card, and Juan Francisco Estrada taking on Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez in the main event on DAZN.

While betting on boxing odds for Lopez heavily favor the champion, Claggett has the potential to cause an upset.

Boxing Events: Teofimo Takes on Claggett and Estrada versus Bam in Title Fights | MyBookie Boxing Analysis of the Top Weekend Bouts in June

June’s Boxing Events: Friday, June 29th, 2024
Miami, Florida – ESPN/ESPN+

Betting on Boxing this Weekend

On Saturday night, champion Teofimo Lopez throws down against Steve Claggett in the main event on an ESPN broadcast fight card and Juan Francisco Estrada takes on Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez in the main event of a DAZN card.

Lopez is the massive favorite over Claggett while Rodriguez is the chalk against Estrada.

Which fighters get it done on June 29?

Check out boxing odds, analysis, and free picks for five of Saturday’s top bouts.

Robeisy Ramirez -1200 vs Brandon Leon Benitez +650

Brandon Leon Benitez is a good boxer.

The 26 year old boasts a 21-2 record with 9 stoppage wins.

Benitez is on a 7 match winning streak.

For sure, Ramirez is the best pugilist Benitez has faced during the streak.

Robeisy heads into this off his second career loss.

Rafael Espinoza kept his unblemished record intact by beating Ramirez via unanimous decision.

Robeisy gets back on track with a victory over Benitez.

Boxing Odds: Robeisy Ramirez

Teofimo Lopez -1000 vs Steve Claggett +550

WBO Junior Welterweight Title

Lopez versus Claggett is a huge mismatch.

Claggett has a great record. But the +550 underdog built his record by beating up poor fighters in Canada.

Teofimo is a world class boxer.

The -1000 favorite should have no trouble against Claggett.

Look for a KO prop before backing Teo on the moneyline. Also, this one should go under the total rounds.

Boxing Odds: Teofimo Lopez

Yamileth Mercado -280 vs Ramla Ali +215

Let’s give Ramla Ali props.

The +215 underdog in this lost via knockout to Jalissa Alejandra Guzman two fights ago.

All Ali did was bounce back in the rematch versus Guzman by winning a 10 rounds unanimous decision.

Yamileth Mercado is a big step up in class.

Mercado is 23-3 and hasn’t tasted defeat since Amanda Serrano beat her in 2021.

Yamileth should have no trouble handling Ali. The chalk prevails.

Boxing Odds: Yamileth Mercado

Sunny Edwards -400 vs Adrian Curiel +295

The underdog has a legit shot in this.

First, it’s important to note that although Sunny Edwards sports an awesome 20-1 record, Edwards has stopped just 4 opponents before the final bell.

Second, this fight happens in Glendale, Arizona where the Mexican born Curiel will have the fans behind the Britain born Edwards.

Third, Curiel is 24-5-1 and has fought much tougher boxers like Sivenathi Nontshinga.

The dog bites.

Boxing Odds: Adrian Curiel

Juan Francisco Estrada +330 vs Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez -450

WBC Junior Bantamweight Title

Two of the best bantamweights get it on for the WBC Junior title in DAZN’s main event.

Estrada has a ton of experience.

The dog in this has 44 wins, just 3 losses, and has knocked out 28 of his opponents.

On Saturday, Estrada fights the best fighter he’s ever battled. Bam Rodriguez is 19-0 with 12 stoppage wins.

Rodriguez can do it all. Bam beat Sunny Edwards via referee technical decision in his last.

The favorite wins.

Boxing Odds: Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez

Boxing Events: WBO Featherweight Between Chirino and Espinoza on Friday Night | MyBookie Boxing Analysis of the Top Weekend Bouts in June

June’s Boxing Events: Friday, June 21st, 2024
Las Vegas, Nevada – ESPN+

Betting Boxing Events this Weekend

Before placing your wagers, let’s delve deeper into the upcoming fight.

By understanding their fighting styles, historical records, and the intangibles of the matchup, you can craft a strategic betting approach for this blockbuster fight.

Rafael Espinoza is a huge favorite over Sergio Chirino in this week’s championship boxing match battle.

Espinoza and Chirino headline a Friday night fight card that includes Andres Cortes against Abraham Nova.

Then on Saturday, Tyler Denny throws down against Felix Cash in what should be an exciting matchup.

Check out boxing odds, analysis, and picks for five of this week’s top pugilist matches.

Andres Cortes vs Abraham Nova

Friday, June 21st, 2024

23-2 Abraham Nova also has 16 knockout victories.

Nova lost his last bout via split decision. However, it was versus the champ, O’Shaquie Foster.

So we can forgive Nova if he came up a few points short.

Andres Cortes hasn’t fought anyone close to Foster’s level.

Cortes does have a nice 21-0 record with 12 stoppage wins.

The step up in class hurts Cortes’ chances, but the younger boxer can get it done.

Boxing Pick: Andres Cortes

Rafael Espinoza -800 vs Sergio Chirino +500

Friday, June 21st, 2024
WBO Featherweight Title

Sergio Chirino brings a fantastic 22-1 record with 13 knockout victories to the ring.

For sure, Chirino will fight hard, but it’s difficult seeing him stepping up and beating a fighter on Rafael Espinoza’s level.

Espinoza is 24-0 with 20 knockout wins. The number 2 ranked featherweight beat Robeisy Ramirez via majority decision this past December.

Espinoza knocks out Chirino.

So go under or look for a KO prop before betting Espinoza on the moneyline.

Boxing Pick: Rafael Espinoza

Shannon Ryan -425 vs Emma Dolan +310

Saturday, June 22nd, 2024

Dolan versus Ryan is a battle between two undefeated fighters.

Dolan is 6-0 with a knockout win. Ryan is 7-0 with 0 stoppage victories.

Ryan has fought the better competition, taking on beating the likes of Martina Bernile, Xenia Jorneac, and Jasmine Zpotoczna. Dolan, though, has the knockout win and has also shown terrific defense in her 6 bouts.

The odds difference should be much closer than -425 versus +310.

Backing the +300 plus boxer makes sense.

Boxing Pick: Emma Dolan

Lewis Crocker -525 vs Conah Walker +370

Saturday, June 22nd, 2024

Conah Walker is a tough 13-2-1 boxer who doesn’t often blink.

In his two losses, Walker went the distance, losing on the scorecards.

The one knock against Walker is that he doesn’t have much power, finishing off just 5 of his opponents before the final bell.

Crocker has won 11-of-19 before the final ding.

The -525 favorite is 19-0 overall. He’s won 2 of his last 3, versus Greyvin Mendoza and Jose Felix, via TKO.

The knockout wins tell us that Crocker has begun to develop a puncher’s instinct.

Give the chalk a chance to end Walker’s night early.

Boxing Pick: Lewis Crocker

Tyler Denny +125 vs Felix Cash -160

Saturday, June 22nd, 2024

Tyler Denny has a good 18-2-3 record.

A couple of knocks against Denny is that he doesn’t have much power, ending the night of 1 of his opponents before going to the scorecards.

Also, the +125 dog has suffered a knockout loss.

Felix Cash boasts a 16-0 record with 10 stoppage wins.

Cash has more power and has yet to taste defeat.

The odds imply Denny keeps this close, but at -160 Cash is a slight overlay.

Get the cash by backing Cash.

Boxing Pick: Felix Cash

Davis-Martin Showdown Looms: Analyze the Fight & Betting on Boxing Odds

Previous Betting News

Boxing fans rejoice! The electrifying Gervonta “Tank” Davis returns to the ring this weekend in a highly anticipated clash against the undefeated Frank Martin.

Before these two titans lock horns, let’s dissect the upcoming fight and explore the latest betting on boxing odds to potentially place a winning wager.

Boxing Events: Gervonta Davis Returns to the Ring Versus Frank Martin | MyBookie Boxing Analysis of the Top Weekend Bouts in June

June’s Boxing Events: Saturday, June 15th, 2024
Las Vegas / Puerto Rico

Betting on Boxing Odds

While Davis enters the matchup as the overwhelming favorite based on his past performances and current pound-for-pound ranking, savvy boxing fans know that upsets can occur in the blink of an eye.

To make informed decisions when betting on boxing, it’s crucial to analyze factors beyond the fighters’ records.

Consider recent training footage, each boxer’s fighting style, and potential mental states heading into the bout.

These insights can help you identify potential value picks and craft a winning betting strategy.

Gervonta Davis returns to the ring for the first time since his April 2023 victory over Ryan Garcia when one of the top pound for pound boxers on the planet throws down against up and coming Frank Martin.

Davis is the massive chalk.

Before Davis and Martin throw down, David Benavidez is the favorite versus Oleksandr Gvozdyk. Both bouts happen on Amazon Prime.

Check out boxing odds, analysis, and free picks for five of this Saturday’s top bouts.

Mark Magsayo -340 vs Eduardo Ramirez +255

25-2 with 17 knockouts, Pilipino star Mark Magsayo had lost 2 straight against Rey Vargas and Brandon Figueroa before bouncing back in his last, a third round knockout win against Isaac Avelar.

Eduardo Ramirez has a decent 28-3-3 record with 13 knockout wins.

Ramirez beat Sebastian Maldanado in his last. Before the Maldanado fight, Ramirez had suffered a second round knockout loss to the terrific Isaac Cruz.

This is going to be a good fight that ends going the chalk’s way.

Boxing Pick: Mark Magsayo

Gary Antuanne Russell -600 vs Alberto Puello +425

WBC Interim Super Lightweight Title

Alberto Puello has answered the bell every time it’s rung. Puello is a terrific 22-0.

But he lacks required power to beat Russell, ending his opponents’ nights early in just 10 of his bouts.

Gary Antuanne Russell is 17-0 with 17 stoppage wins. Russell should get his eighteenth stoppage victory.

Look for a KO prop on Gary before backing him on the moneyline.

Boxing Pick: Gary Antuanne Russell

Subriel Matias -900 vs Liam Paro +550

Favorite Subriel Matias’ only loss came in the COVID-19 afflicted year of 2020. Matias fell to Petros Ananyan.

Since then, Matias has won 5 straight.

No doubt, the favorite should make it 6 straight on Saturday night. But Liam Paro has never lost.

Not only has Paro never lost, but he’s got excellent power, stopping 15 of his opponents in 24 victories before the final bell.

Calling the upset.

Boxing Pick: Liam Paro

David Benavidez -650 vs Oleksandr Gvozdyk +450

WBC Interim Light Heavyweight Title

Gvozdyk has a record that suggests he competes with Benavidez.

Oleksandr is 20-1 with 16 knockout wins. But on Saturday night, Gvozdyk fights that man that Canelo fears.

Benavidez has an undefeated 28-0 record.

Benavidez has knocked out 24 of his opponents.

On Saturday night, he knocks out Gvozdyk in what should be a highlight reel bout that forces Canelo to take a step closer to a super fight versus Benavidez.

Boxing Pick: David Benavidez

Gervonta Davis -600 vs Frank Martin +425

WBA Lightweight Title

Frank Martin has an excellent 18-0 record with 12 stoppage wins. But Gervonta Davis is on another level.

Unless the layoff hurt Davis, and it may have, he wins this.

The issue with fighting Gervonta is that although he’s short in stature, the -600 chalk in this has fantastic footwork and is always in position to throw a counter, a lead hook, or some other punch in his arsenal that floors his opponent.

Davis wins but Martin provides a decent accounting of himself, possibly even lasting until the final bell.

Boxing Pick: Gervonta Davis

From dazzling displays of power punching to technical masterpieces of footwork, this fight promises an unforgettable night of boxing action.

June’s Boxing Events: Friday, June 7th – Saturday, June 8th, 2024
Hard Rock Hotel / Top Rank ESPN New York

Betting Boxing on the Second Week of June

Xander Zayas is a massive favorite to beat Patrick Texeira in the main event on fight card in New York broadcast by ESPN on Saturday night. Before Zayas and Texeira throw down, Bruce Carrington battles Enrique Vivas and Delante Johnson is the chalk over Tarik Zaina.

Our top boxing picks start on Friday with two terrific bouts happening in Ft. Lauderdale.

Then, we’ll shift our focus to Saturday’s ESPN broadcast, dissecting the undercard and the highly anticipated main event.

Adrian Broner vs Blair Cobbs

Veteran Adrien Broner has a terrific 34-5-1 record.

Broner’s last loss came in 2019 to Manny Pacquiao.

Since then, Broner has won 2 straight including beating then undefeated Jovanie Santiago via unanimous decision in 2021.

Blair Cobbs is 16-1-1.

Cobbs has a decent knockout percentage, ending 10 of his opponents’ nights before the final bell. But Cobbs lost 2 bouts ago via ninth round knockout to Alexis Rocha.

Although he doesn’t fight much these days, the more experienced Broner can get it done. Back the dog to cash.

Pick to Win: Adrian Broner
Boxing Odds:

Michael Hunter vs Cassius Chaney

Michael Hunter and Cassius Chaney have similar records.

The +145 underdog in this is 23-1 with 16 knockout wins.

Chaney is on a 2-match winning steak against Matthew McKinney and Trevor Bryan.

Hunter is 22-1-2. Hunter’s last loss came in 2017 versus one of the top pound for pound boxers on the planet, Oleksandr Usyk.

The favorite has won 4-of-5 with a draw against Jerry Forrest the only blemish.

Give the chalk the nod.

Delante Johnson vs Tarik Zaina

The undercard bouts on Saturday have been designed to highlight young talent.

Delante Johnson, the massive -1200 favorite, is 12-0 with 6 knockout victories.

Johnson takes on 29 year old Tarik Zaina.

Zaina, who is 4 years older than Johnson, has a decent 13-1-1 record. Zaina, though, lost his last to Rohan Polanco via unanimous decision.

Johnson can score a knockout victory here.

So consider backing the chalk to end Zaina’s night early.

Betting Delante Johnson vs Tarik Zaina Bout

Saturday, June 8th | Top Rank ESPN – The Theater at MSG, New York

Pick to Win: Delante Johnson
Boxing Odds:
Delante Johnson -1200 / Tarik Zaina +700 | Boxing Fight Lines Tonight

Bruce Carrington vs Enrique Vivas

Although Carrington is the huge moneyline favorite, a case can be made to back Enrique Vivas to pull off the upset victory.

Vivas boasts a 23-3 record with 12 stoppage wins.

Vivas’s last 2 losses came against a couple of the better fighters in the division, Eduardo Baez and Joet Gonzalez.

Carrington is 11-0 with 7 stoppage victories. Bruce should be the favorite in this, but the line makes him an underlay.

Give the +750 underdog a chance to pull off the upset win.

Betting Bruce Carrington vs Enrique Vivas Bout

Saturday, June 8th | Top Rank ESPN – The Theater at MSG, New York

Xander Zayas vs Patrick Teixeira

33 year old Brazilian Patrick Teixeira has a nice 34-4 record.

Teixeira has knocked out 25 of his opponents.

He’s scored 3 straight knockout victories in his last 3. Ah, but the wins were against boxers in Brazil.

On Saturday night, Teixeira takes on rising star Xander Zayas.

The 21 year old is 18-0 with 12 knockout wins. Zayas takes the victory for sure.

Either go under the total rounds once a line sets or back Zayas to score the TKO or KO victory.

Hamzah Sheeraz vs Austin Williams

Sheeraz versus Williams will be a good fight. Both are undefeated. Williams is 16-0 with 11 stoppage wins while Sheeraz is 19-0 with 15 knockout or technical knockout victories.

Williams has terrific boxing skills, but he has yet to face anyone close to Sheeraz’s abilities.

The favorite in this puts together fast combinations that are also powerful.

Expect Sheeraz to send Williams to the showers before the final bell.

Pick to Win: Hamzah Sheeraz
Boxing Odds:
Hamzah Sheeraz -235 vs Austin Williams +185 | Boxing Fight lines Tonight

Raymond Ford vs Nick Ball

The odds suggest a close bout and it will be. Raymond Ford is 15-0-1 with 8 stoppage wins.

Ford stopped a 12-0 opponent in Otabek Kholmatov in his last before the end of the twelfth.

Ball is 19-0-1 with 11 stoppage victories. Ball drew in his last against Rey Vargas. Vargas remains one of the top boxers in the division.

So placing our faith in Ball makes sense.

Daniel Dubois vs Filip Hrgovic

Dubois bounced back from the ninth round knockout loss he suffered versus Oleksandr Usyk in a bout last August by beating then 26-0-1 Jarrell Miller via tenth round TKO last December.

Hrgovic is 17-0 with 14 stoppage victories. The Croatian is a monster in the ring.

He’s beaten some decent heavyweights like taking Zhilei Zhang. Dubois’ chin has always been suspect.

So Hrgovic is the pick to win this one via stoppage.

Betting Daniel Dubois vs Filip Hrgovic Bout

Saturday, June 1st | DAZN Riyadh Season

Pick to Win: Filip Hrgovic
Boxing Odds:

Deontay Wilder vs Zhilei Zhang

Wilder has lost 3 of his last 4. 2 of the losses came against Tyson Fury in 2020 and 2021.

The other came in Wilder’s last versus Joseph Parker. Deontay was the favorite against Parker and he didn’t perform well.

Zhilei Zhang is 26-2-1. Zhang also lost his last to Parker. But Zhang lost via split decision.

Zhilei outboxes Wilder for a unanimous decision victory.

Betting Deontay Wilder vs Zhilei Zhang Bout

Dmitrii Bivol vs Malik Zinad

Zinad has a good 22-0 record with 16 stoppage victories, but the +1200 massive underdog hasn’t come close to facing anyone with Bivol’s talent.

All the champ does is win. Bivol will win again on Saturday night. The problem is the bet to make.

The fight should go over because Bivol has won almost all of his recent bouts via decision.

Then again, this is a huge step down in class.

So expect Bivol to end Zinad’s night early. Find a kockout prop on Bivol and pull the trigger.

On paper, it looks like underdog Jeffers has a big shot to win this. He’s scored just 3 technical knockout and 1 knockout win, but the 15-0 record suggests he can take this.

Shields beat Crews in Franchon’s first bout, Crews’ first ever fight that happened in 2016. Franchon lost via unanimous decision. The bout was a four rounder, which shouldn’t alarm anybody.

Marshall’s loss happened in her last. Shields beat her via unanimous decision. Both women can make a case to take this. But Marshall has fought 13 times with the single loss to Shields and has scored 10 victories via stoppage. Savannah wins and she likely wins before the final bell.

Jahi Tucker is 10-0. Tucker has 5 stoppage victories. Also, Jahi has fought the much better opponents. If you don’t want to back Jahi on the money line, consider going under the total or backing the chalk on a TKO or KO prop.

Charles Martin is 29-3-1. Martin lost his last bout via technical knockout. The loss came against Luis Ortiz and it happened in the sixth round.

For sure, Anderson can knock out Martin before the end of the fourth. But Charles knows his best shot is to stay away from Jared’s power. Going over makes sense.

Based on her record, Katie Healy shouldn’t be as big of an underdog as she is. Healy is 6-0. She heads into this after easily handling Katherine Quintana via points.

However, Healy hasn’t fought strong competition. Quintana entered the ring with an 0-17-1 record. In Healy’s fight before facing Quintana, Matshidiso Mokebisi was 15-9-1

Nina Hughes is 5-0 and has a win over then 8-0-2 Jamie Mitchell. Hughes has also won a couple of bouts via technical knockout. The favorite takes this.

Jamie Munguia vs. Sergei Derevyanchenko

Boxing Odds: Jamie Munguia -666 vs. Sergei Derevyanchenko +383

Sergei Derevyanchenko won his last bout over Joshua Connelly but before that, Derevyanchenko had lost two straight. Carlos Adames and Jermall Charlo beat Derevyanchenko via decision.

Jamie Munguia is 41-0 with 33 stoppage wins. Mungia is 6-0. Drevyanchenko if 5’ 9 ½”. The height difference gives Munguia a massive edge.

Sergei has never lost via knockout. So going over the total round or looking for a prop for this to go the distance will be a better play than backing Munguia on the money line.

Boxing Pick: Jaime Munguia | Bet Jaime Munguia vs. Sergei Derevyanchenko Today

Omar Rosario vs. Jan Carlos Rivera

Boxing Odds: Omar Rosario -232 vs. Jan Carlos Rivera +161

Rosario versus Rivera projects as one of this Saturday’s top matches. Both boxers have skills that could get them the victory.

The -232 favorite is 10-0 with 2 KO wins and a TKO victory. Rosario won his last via first round knockout. However, Omar faced then 3-3 Zach Hill.

This is a step up for the chalk. Jan Carlos Rivera is 8-1 with 6 wins before the final bell. The odds on Jan Carlos make the dog more than playable.

Boxing Pick: Jan Carlos Rivera | Bet Omar Rosario vs. Jan Carlos Rivera Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Bout

Teofimo Lopez vs. Josh Taylor

Boxing Odds: Teofimo Lopez +146 vs. Josh Taylor -208
WBO Junior Welterweight Title

Lopez will have his backers, but that doesn’t mean he wins this bout. George Kambosos upset Teofimo. Then in his second fight after the 2020 upset win agianst Vasiliy Lomachenko, Sandor Martin knocked down Lopez before the dog in this rallied for the win.

Josh Taylor is taller, has a longer rich, and has a dynamite chin. Teofimo tends to leave his gloves under his chin, but unlike Mike Tyson, who bobbed and weaved his way inside, Lopez likes to walk down his opponents.

Not only that, but Teofimo also has a habit of pointing his elbows out when he throws, taking speed off his punches. The Lopez of old is no more. Taylor wins this.

Boxing Pick: Josh Taylor | Bet Teofimo Lopez vs. Josh Taylor Today

Top Boxing Lines: Shields Battles Cornejo For the Women’s Middleweight Title

Previous Betting News

Claressa Shields steps into a boxing ring for what many believe will be the final time on Saturday. After her bout with Maricela Cornejo, Shields plans on switching to a mixed martial arts career. Before Shields has her boxing swan song, Ardreal Holmes Jr. throws down against Wendy Toussaint and Antonio Todd battles Joseph Hicks.

Check out boxing lines, analysis, and free picks for the top bouts on DAZN’s Saturday night boxing card as well as an intriguing fight between Leon Bunn and Rostam Ibrahim.

Top Boxing Lines: Shields Battles Cornejo For the Women’s Middleweight Title | MyBookie Boxing Betting Preview

Boxing Events: Saturday, June 3

Leon Bunn vs. Rostam Ibrahim

Boxing Odds: Leon Bunn +103 vs. Rostam Ibrahim -142

Ibrahim deserves to be the chalk in this. The -142 favorite sports an undefeated 11-0-2 record. The last draw happened against then 5-0 Chico Kwasi via split-decision in a 2021 bout.

Since the draw, Ibrahim has won 4 straight. The last win came in a November 2022 bout.

Leon Bunn is 19-1. Bunn suffered a sixth round technical knockout loss to then 14-0 Padraig McCrory in October last year. Since the loss, Bunn has bounced back with a nice referee technical decision win against Slavisa Simeunovic on April 30.

Bunn has proven he can return from a bad loss. The odds difference makes the underdog more than playable.

Boxing Pick: Leon Bunn | Bet Sarah Liegmann vs. Carisse Brown Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Bout

Sarah Liegmann vs. Carisse Brown

Boxing Odds: Sarah Liegmann -1428 vs. Carisse Brown +590

Leigmann is undefeated with a 7-0 record. But although Leigmann hasn’t lost a bout, she doesn’t appear to have a ton of power because she’s won just 2 of her fights via stoppage.

Carisse Brown is 7-4. We’d write that Brown has a shot but she has been on the losing end of 3 straight bouts. Brown has lost her last 2 via technical knockout. So look for a prop on Liegmann to end Brown’s night early before backing Sarah on the money line.

Boxing Pick: Sarah Leigmann | Bet Sarah Liegmann vs. Carisse Brown Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Bout

Antonio Todd vs. Joseph Hicks

Boxing Odds: Antonio Todd +383 vs. Joseph Hicks -666

Underdog Antonio Todd is 14-7 with 8 stoppage victories. Todd lost his last, but it was against then 22-1 Anthony Sims Jr.

Joseph Hicks is 6-0 with 5 stoppage wins. The favorite in this, that’s Hicks, has looked great against subpar competition. On Saturday, Hicks takes on a boxer who has more skill than any the favorite has faced. Although Hicks should win, the odds make the dog more than playable.

Boxing Pick: Antonio Todd | Bet Antonio Todd vs. Joseph Hicks Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Bout

Ardreal Holmes Jr. vs. Wendy Toussaint

Boxing Odds: Ardreal Holmes Jr. -370 vs. Wendy Toussaint +244

Wendy Toussaint is a solid boxer. The underdog in this bounced back from a loss to Charles Conwell in 2020 with victories against Travis Gambardella and Asinia Byfield last year.

But although Toussaint is a decent boxer, he takes on ultra-talented Ardreal Holmes Jr. on Saturday night. Holmes Jr. has a 13-0 undefeated record and beat a decent boxer in Ismael Villarreal in his last. Holmes Jr. is the bet.

Boxing Pick: Ardreal Holmes Jr. | Bet Ardreal Holmes Jr. vs. Wendy Toussaint Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Bout

Maricela Cornejo vs. Claressa Shields

Undisputed Women’s Middleweight Championship
Boxing Odds: Maricela Cornejo +1000 vs. Claressa Shields -10000

It’s impossible to back Clarissa Shields at -10000 odds. But it’s also impossible to back Maricela Cornejo to get the upset win.

Cornejo is 16-5 and overmatched. She has almost zero shot of coming close to winning this bout. Since this is supposedly Shields’ final boxing match before her MMA career, we should expect her to look for the knockout.

Although Claressa has stopped just 2 of her 13 opponents before the final bell, who knows? Maybe, Shields will be motivated for the stoppage win. Look for a Shields KO or TKO prop before backing Claressa on the money line.

Harold Calderon vs. Shakhram Giyasov

Boxing Odds: Harold Calderon +521 vs. Shakhram Giyasov -1111
Smoothie King Center, USA | Saturday, June 17, 2023
Middleweight Bout

On paper, it looks like Calderon offers overlay odds. The underdog in this is 27-0 with 18 knockout or technical knockout victories. A closer look reveals that Calderon is 35-years-old and hasn’t come close to fighting a boxer on Shakhram Giyasov’s level.

The favorite in this is 13-0 with 9 stoppage victories. In his last, Giyasov beat then 22-2-1 Christian Gomez via tenth round unanimous decision. Giyasov can win via KO. So consider making a prop bet.

Boxing Pick: Shakhram Giyasov | Bet Harold Calderon vs. Shakhram Giyasov Today

Regis Prograis vs. Danielito Zorrilla

Boxing Odds: Regis Prograis -2000 vs. Danielito Zorrilla +659
WBC Junior Lightweight Title
Smoothie King Center, USA | Saturday, June 17, 2023
Lightweight Bout

Zorrilla is a decent boxer. However, Danielito goes against one of the better boxers on the planet on Saturday night.

Regis Prograis’ lone loss came versus Josh Taylor back in 2019 when Taylor was at the height of his career. Prograis is longer than Zorilla, which means Regis should be able to control the pace of the fight and keep Danielito at a distance. The champ can get the challenger out of there before the final bell.

Justin Frost vs. Hassan Hamdan

Boxing Odds: Justin Frost +165 vs. Hassan Hamdan -238
Queensland, Australia | Sunday, June 18, 2023
Super Lightweight Bout

Underdog Justin Frost has a decent 13-2-1 record. But although Frost has 13 wins, he hasn’t lived up to his Iceman moniker because only 4 of the 13 wins have come before the final bell.

Hassan Hamdan is just 5-0 with a single TKO win. Hamdan, though, has great boxing skills. Frost has a shot, but the favorite stays out of trouble. Hamdan wins via decision.

Boxing Pick: Hassan Hamdan | Bet Justin Frost vs. Hassan Hamdan Today

Sam Goodman vs. Ra’eese Aleem

Boxing Odds: Sam Goodman +115  vs. Ra’eese Aleem -161
Gold Coast Convention Centre, Australia | Sunday, June 18, 2023
Super Bantamweight Bout

It’s tempting to back Sam Goodman because he’s got a great 14-0 record. Not only that, but Goodman has beaten 50% of his opponents via stoppage.

Raeese Aleem has a 20-0 record. The favorite in this has fought great in his last 3. Not only did Aleem win his last 3, but he beat tough opponents: Vic Pasillas, Eduardo Baez, and Mike Plania. The favorite gets it done.

Boxing Pick: Ra’eese Aleem | Bet Sam Goodman vs. Ra’eese Aleem Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Bout

Carlos Ocampo vs. Tim Tszyu

Boxing Odds: Carlos Ocampo +589 vs. Tim Tszyu -1428
WBO Interim Jr. Middleweight Title
Gold Coast Convention Centre, Australia | Sunday, June 18, 2023
Middleweight Bout

Ocampo has a terrific 35-2 record with 23 stoppage wins. Errol Spence Jr. beat Ocampo in 2018. Then this past October, Sebastian Fundora added the second loss via unanimous decision.

Tim Tszyu is undefeated with a 22-0 record. Tszyu fights like his father, Kostya Tszyu, which means Tim is in your face throughout the entire bout.

Ocampo is good enough to beat Tszyu, but the favorite’s constant pressure should eventually wear down the underdog. Tszyu projects to end Ocampo’s night late in the fight.

Go over if you’re looking to play the round total. Grab a Tszyu to win via KO/TKO prop if you’re looking to boost your potential payout.

Carlos Adames vs. Julian Williams Odds for the WBC Interim Middleweight Title

Previous Betting News

On Saturday night, Julian Williams desperately tries to rejuvenate his career when he steps into the ring to take on favorite Carlos Adames for the WBC Interim Middleweight strap. Also on Saturday, Kazuto Ioka is a slight underdog versus Joshua Franco for the WBA Junior Bantamweight title even though the fight happens in Tokyo.

Check out boxing lines, analysis, and a pick for Adames versus William and four other of this Saturday’s top matches.

Carlos Adames vs. Julian Williams Odds for the WBC Interim Middleweight Title | MyBookie Boxing Betting Preview

Boxing Events: Saturday, June 24, 2023

Joshua Franco vs. Kazuto Ioka

WBA Junior Bantamweight Title Fight
Boxing Odds: Joshua Franco -126 vs. Kazuto Ioka -108
Ota City General Gymnasium | Tokyo, Japan

Franco and Ioka run it back after their first fight ended in a majority draw. The first fight was one of the best brawls in 2022. Ioka and Franco have similar styles. They hang in their and bang.

So if you get a chance to watch this fight, for sure, check it out. It’s going to be great. Which boxer has the edge? The fight takes place in Tokyo, which means Ioka gets the nod. It’s not that Franco won’t fight well. It’s that Kazuto may do enough to persuade the Japanese judges for the win.

Boxing Pick: Kazuto Ioka | Bet Edgar Berlanga vs. Jason Quigley Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Bout

Edgar Berlanga vs. Jason Quigley

Boxing Odds: Edgar Berlanga -1428 vs. Jason Quigley +601
Madison Square Garden | New York City, New York

Berlanga should win this bout, but whether Edgar knocks out Quigley is another matter. Quigley has a terrific 20-2 record. Jason suffered both losses via stoppage before the final round.

Ah, but the round total in Berlanga versus Quigley on Saturday is 4.5. Edgar Berlanga started his career going 16-0 with 16 stoppage victories. Since then, Berlanga has gone the distance in 4 straight.

Edgar knows that if he wants to compete against guys like Canelo Alvarez and David Benavidez in the super middleweight division, he must develop a bottom. Doing so means taking some punishment to develop a chin and putting in more than 5 rounds per fight. This goes over the total.

Boxing Pick: Over 4.5 | Bet Edgar Berlanga vs. Jason Quigley Today

Fernando Martinez vs. Jade Bornea

IBF Junior Bantamweight Title
Boxing Odds: Fernando Martinez -476 vs. Jade Bornea +296
The Armory | Minneapolis, Minnesota

Martinez has a non-stop motor. In his last couple of bouts, Fernando beat Jerwin Ancajas, arguably one of the top Filipino boxers on the planet.

Ancajas, though, is a veteran whose boxing skills may have deteriorated. On Saturday night, Martinez must get by Jade Bornea.

Jade has skills that could lead to a win in this fight. He’s tall, has a reach advantage in this, and knows how to use his jab. Ancajas had trouble keeping Martinez at the end of his jab. Bornea won’t.

Boxing Pick: Jade Bornea | Bet Fernando Martinez vs. Jade Bornea Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Bout

Erickson Lubin vs. Luis Arias

Boxing Odds: Erickson Lubin -1250 vs. Luis Arias +533
The Armory | Minneapolis, Minnesota

Erickson Lubin should be the chalk in this, but Lubin lost his last fight. Granted it was versus Sebastian Fundora and it happened in the ninth round via a referee technical decision.

Arias isn’t on Fundora’s level. He’s not even on Lubin’s level. But Arias is a banger who has never lost a bout via stoppage.

So although Lubin should win, Erickson offers underlay odds to do so. Backing the dog makes sense. Taking a shot on the dog makes sense.

Boxing Pick: Luis Arias | Bet Erickson Lubin vs. Luis Arias Today

Carlos Adames vs. Julian Williams | Carlos Adames Takes on Julian Williams for the WBC Interim Middleweight Title

WBC Interim Middleweight Title
Boxing Odds: Carlos Adames -666 vs. Julian Williams +374
The Armory | Minneapolis, Minnesota

22-1 Carlos Adames finally get his title shot. Don’t expect the favorite top disappoint.

For sure, Julian Williams is a good boxer. But Williams is 33-years-old and heads into this after a win against 18-11-1 Rolando Mansilla.

Before beating Mansilla, Williams had lost 2 straight. Adames’ last loss came in 2019. Carlos has knocked out 17 of his opponents. So if you want a better payout, look for a TKO/KO prop.

Saturday, June 5th Bouts

Kamel Kouaouch +900 / Roman Fress -2000

Kouaouch is an undefeated Belgium fighter. The record is sparkling at 11-0. But before getting excited about Kouaouch’s chances on Saturday, notice he’s never knocked out an opponent. The guess here is that Belgium’s boxing gyms aren’t up to the standard of Germany’s, which is where Roman Fress is from. Then again, neither one of these fighters has ever fought outside of their home country. So, we really don’t know how good Fress is. -2000 is a lot to ask to lay on a fighter who may have as much of a juiced up record as his opponent’s.

Boxing Pick: Kamel Kouaouch

Agit Kabayel -2000 / Kevin Johnson +900

Kabayel is 20-0 with 13 knockouts. Opponent Kevin Johnson is 35-17-1. Johnson is 41-years-old and should have no shot. But look at that? KJ knocked out his last opponent, Yan Pablo Hernandez. Hernandez was 29-0 at the time Johnson beat him. Kabayel should win, no doubt, but Johnson’s worth backing at the odds.

Boxing Pick: Kevin Johnson

Archie Sharp -2000 / Marcio Soza +900

Sharp is undefeated. He’s got a nice 19-0 record. Sharp has won 9 of his fights via KO or TKO, which means he doesn’t always look for the decision. Marcio Soza is 21-6-2 with 12 knockouts. Soza has primarily fought in his native Nicaragua. Soza has some skills, but Sharp should pick him apart. Look for a prop bet before laying the -2000 for $100 profit.

Boxing Pick: Archie Sharp

Iliyan Markov +1300 / Nathan Heaney -5000

Heaney’s nickname is “Hitman” but from 11 victories, he’s got just 3 knockout wins. Markov is 6-14-2. Markov has lost 3 fights via KO or TKO, which shows he’s got a good chin. But the underdog hasn’t fought in over a year. So, yes, even though Heaney doesn’t have a ton of power, he could win this one via knockout.

Boxing Pick: Nathan Heaney

Bogdan Dinu +950 / Daniel Dubois -2500

Romanian fighter Bogdan Dinu is 20-2 with 16 knockouts. One of Dinu’s losses happened against tough brawler Kubrat Pulev. Pulev lost to Anthony Joshua in his last fight. So Dinu has fought at least one quality opponent.

Daniel Dubois is supposed to be the next great British heavyweight. Joe Joyce put those dreams on hold by knocking Dubois out in the tenth in Dubois’ last match. Who knows if Dubois has recovered from the loss? Dinu has some skills. He moves excellently for a big man, which means he’s worth a look at the extravagant underdog odds.

Boxing Pick: Bogdan Dinu

Sunday, June 6th Bouts

Jarrett Hurd -1200 / Luis Arias +650

On Sunday, super welterweight Jarrett Hurd attempts to take another step back into the upper echelon of the division. Julian Williams upset Hurd in 2019. Hurd bounced back in 2020 with a win against Francisco Santana. A win over Arias could set him up for a championship elimination bout.

Hurd’s victory wasn’t overly impressive. But Jarrett has a big advantage over his opponent. At one time, Arias was a contender. He’s lost 2-of-3 and drawn in the third. Hurd is taller, has the longer reach, and should have no trouble measuring Arias with his jab.

Jarrett has power, 16 knockouts in 24 wins. So consider backing Hurd on a couple of round props. Eighth round or ninth round knockout look like solid plays.

Boxing Pick: Jarrett Hurd KO or TKO in Round 8 or Round 9.
